What the hell happened to gamefly?

Pharrell1

CAGiversary!
I ordered a game on there five days ago and they still haven't shipped the game to me but charged me for it. when it said it would take 1 -2 days and arrive in 4 to 7 days.

its everyone butt ramming the hell outta that site.

I miss the day it would ship in 24 hours and get it in 3 days those days are long gone with the school kids ramming the servers day and night.

dude, we can't help you. drop them an email if your having a problem with a game shipping.

I consistently get my games in 2-3 days from gamefly. In fact I got MW2 yesterday after adding it to my que only last week!

I'm thinking about upgrading to 3 disc plan for the holidays now that I have time and lots of game I wanna play.

Uhh ... you ordered the week before Thanksgiving and a couple of days after LFD2 and Assassins Creed 2 launched. Of course they are busy, and your $10 game is not a big priority.

I'm testing out a free month, mailed a game on monday and they still haven't received it? Can't see myself sticking around to pay if it's going to be that slow.

You do realize its 7 days before Christmas... Expecting things in a timely fashion through the mail now is just setting yourself up for disappointment. If you wanted a true glimpse of the service, try not to choose one of the few times a year that the USPS is flooded with mail

I tried Gamefly awhile back. I tried to see how fast their turnaround time was. I wound up getting a total of two games in a month. I wasn't keeping them long either. I'd get one game, play it for a day and then send it right back. It'd take them 5-6 days to receive the game, then another 5-6 days for me to get my next one.

I find that totally unacceptable. If Netflix can get a movie from me in a day or two, and get one back to me in the same time frame, there is no reason this shouldn't be somewhat comparible, especially since it costs so much more.

Needless to say, that experience totally soured me towards the whole Gamefly thing.

Meh should only take an extra day at worst. I haven't seen any delays with other mail. SF to LA is not exactly an obscure route either.

My Netflix stuff gets to them in a day or two, and gets back to me in the same amount of time. It takes no longer than usual.

They also don't offer several games I'd like to rent (like Karaoke Revolution Encore 1 or 2), just because they come with a mic? But they are perfectly fine with renting out stuff like Guitar Hero games etc? Makes no sense.

I think they also "throttle" people's accounts too.
When I first signed up games came and went pretty quick.

But after awhile it started taking longer and longer...

I was also one that would only keep some games 1 maybe 2 days. I checked out just about any game on there. So some games I got tried and didn't like so dropped it in the mail the next day.

Exactly. Everything inevitably gets delayed around the holidays, especially anything going through the postal service. They are swamped. Sometimes, people need to realize their mail isn't exactly a priority.

I just cancelled my account. I life in the same city as the distribution center. Sent in a game on the 11th. As of today, they have had the game for a week and still not sent out another game.

I have 15 games in my Q, two of which have shown "Available now" for the past three days.

GF sucks. All should avoid.

I was wondering if it was just me of how long gamefly takes to ship items. I ordered a game (L4D) and it seem that they took a while to ship but they came. I think they have some good sales but I am not sure about being a member to rent games.
