What TV do you use for Gaming?

CAGiversary!
I'm currently using a 36 inch Sony Vega TV. However I'm in the market for a HDTV, but I need some help. As for right now I own a PS2, Xbox 360 and I will get a Wii. The TV will be just for gaming, so it doesn't need to be bigger then 32 inch. I'm just curious as to what everyone on CAG is using. Post Pics if you have them. Yeah I know there is a post "your collection thread", this is a just a TV thread.

I just use my new Samsung 215TW LCD. It's a computer monitor with every single input you could need besides HDMI. It has composite, s-video, component, VGA, and DVI. It's also HDCP compliant too. It supports 1080i and 720p but sadly, no 1080p.

I use a RCA 52" widescreen HD monitor. I dont own it though, its rented from aarons. its about 100 bucks a month till its paid off. I dont plan on paying it off though. with the amount of new techonolgy always coming out i dont want to drop 1000+ on a tv. instead ill treat it like a car and just always make payments to have the cool thing out at the time. im not sure what im gonna get next though. probably a 42" lcd.

I use a Samsung 940mw for the most part, it's actually very similar to Vinny's 215tw monitor in function, only it has a built tuner for TV and is only 19". When 1080p gets a little cheaper and more product support, I'll likely buy one of those so I can actually game on a larger screen.

I use a Samsung HL-S466W.. it's a 46" DLP HDTV. The DLP's are dropping in price fast right now. I did alot of research before I bought it, and had narrowed it down to this year's Samsungs and the Sony 3LCD's. They look great.. VGA, 2 HDMI, optical and coaxial out, plenty of options. I have it on a Pioneer home theatre (not HTiB), but may go with an Onkyo home theatre system soon due to the great # of inputs on their HTiB receivers.

Take a look at the new rear projection units, you could find a 42" online in the $1100-$1300 range or jump on one of those "no interest for 18 months" offers that CC and BB frequently offer. The 360 looks great on it.. and I've hooked my PC up to it a couple times and tried a couple games on it. The only downer is not having component cables for my Gamecube.. using standard inputs on a screen that size isn't the prettiest thing in the world.

God damn.. it's like the CAG sensibility goes out the window as soon as you people see shiny screens. :D

I play on my 24-inch flat-screen Sanyo CRT in the living room (which looks spectacular with S-video) and my 27-inch Magnavox CRT in the game room. I have a feeling I'll probably upgrade to a widescreen TV sometime after I recover from wedding/honeymoon costs next year.

Phillips 30" HDTV. Best $400 I ever spent.

I sit like 6 feet away from it so I don't really need anything bigger or fancier.

Piece of shit 23 inch color Tv. Complete with bad built in speakers and a remote that barely works.

I plan to go HD in maybe 1 - 3 years.

Nice. I paid about $299.99 for a Philips 27" like 4 or 5 years ago. I'm stilling using it today.

I could use an upgrade sometime soon though.

This is what I've been using for about a good 10 Years now. It's about 36 inches. Brand is ProScan. It's pretty damn old but a good CRT. I've been wanting to get and HDTV, but i've had no use for it since I don't have a 360 and I don't plan to get a PS3. Maybe later along down the road.

Note: This picture is about a good 5 years old. I was playing my N64 for a pretty damn long time before I got a PS2.

wow huge tv's. I got a 12inch tv with the little nobs and I cant use the yellow, red, white plugs from my systems, I gotta buy the little adapter that screws in to where my cable goes. Sometimes I have to bang it *cries*

You're kidding right??

in all honesty I've used for about 10 years (going from SNES, to PS1, to PS2, to 360) my commodore 64 screen and it's not bad at all... I plan to upgrade to a larger or HD screen soon though.
Not at all, I do belive Im the poorest guy here :p
wow, I honestly can't stad even watching TV on anything smaller than 12", let alone game on it. If thats all you can afford its cool. I'm not gonna knock on someone who can't afford certain things. Only reason I was able to get mine was because mine was fritzing the hell out, and my mother ended up getting it for me. I will admit that it was half manipulation/half honesty. What pretty much sold her on it was that Target had it on sale for 200 bucks cheaper than everyone else. SO I was able to snag it at CC for 220 less (because of their 110% PM policy), which it came to a little over 1500. Not bad for a an 1800 MSRP set.

Of course with that and the 360 I got for my birthday, I'm not even asking for anything for Xmas lol. Seriously.

Sony 40" Bravia XBR LCD HDTV (KDL-V40XBR1)

fuck, I feel so inadequate now that the 1080p XBRs are out. 1080p, 7000:1 contrast ratio, 3 HDMI slots and only $500 more!

I honestly could care less about if my TV can do 1080p at the moment. I'm just glad that i fucknig have a hi-def set. Besides, I usually keep it all at 720p, as thats its native resolution. I honestly really notice only a slight difference when I go from 720p to 1080i. So like I said, I'm not that concerned about 1080p

My only wish about my TV is that I could have gotten the larger model. Oh well, a 42" is a good start and a decent size. If I can every get the money and ever can get a house, I'm gonna look into getting a projection system. There'd be nothing sweeter than playing a game of say Forza or anything from the next gen on a screen twice the size of yourself.

Out of curiousity, I know they sell wall paint that you can use for projection systesm. Does anyone know if they run higher than normal paints?

I use a Monivision DM6952S. It's a 32" XGA CRT 4:3 monitor. I'll probably be getting a widescreen HDTV when the fall sales arrive, though.
