I read many message boards and for really no reason besides to see what kind of fanboy/fangirl someone is I decided to make this. I am personally a Sony fanboy even though I have started to change my ways. What are all you? Lets try to keep this a flame free topic if possible.

i guess i care slightly more about Sony's well being than Nintendo's, and way more than Microsoft's, although i have all three systems.

I said I'm truly not biased. I have everthing except for a xbox, but's thats just because I've got too many games the way it is now, and a xbox would put me overboard. I've really enjoyed playing Halo 2 with my friends, and I think the console would be worth it just for that game.

I love my GCN, PS2, and high-end PC, and I wouldn't mind getting a xbox if i could afford it and have the time to play it.

microsoft..NOT cus of halo...i think the xbox has awesome graphics..i always adapt 2 the controller alot easier than ps2 or gc..shenmue 2 is on it :) hehe...well, it has some good games, and well..i just like it better:D

Being a hardware fanboy is silly. Those are the people I'd like to slap upside the head and yell, "It's the games, stupid!!".

I enjoy PS2/Xbox, and I used to like Nintendo, but since the GC they have really made me dislike them.

good point... *slaps self in head* x_o..i wud say theyr all equal to me (cepy GC..GC sux..*but i dno..opinions opinions :)

If I had to choose, I'd choose Sony. But those damn Disc Read Errors are making me question that. Cmon Sony! Spend the extra dollar to make our systems work properly!! ](*,)

You forgot Sega.

I truly am not biased, though I'm slightly partial to Nintendo and Sega. I also like Sony, so I really don't think I"m biased. I don't jump on the hype/game bandwagon though certain titles I am more fond of than others.

If you're limited to hardware, then Sega/Nintendo/SNK... If not, then Capcom and a whole lot of developers too. Though its hard to be a "fanboy" if you like lots of things.

Flawed comment, being a fanboy could also revolve around the software. Specifically: Nintendo's.

Id say im a nintendo fanboy. I mean sure i own every system and sure i play ps2 the most but nintendo does hardware right, no 3 different drive microsoft console and sony...lets just say i only had to buy 1 gamecube for 1/3 the price of just one of the ps2s ive bought since launch.

Yes, it could, but with the poll choices offered in this thread, that seems beyond the scope of the discussion.
Had software been included, Sega, Square, Capcom, Konami, et al. would have been included as choices.
This one seems to be specifically constraining it hardware.

yeah but by software he didnt mean developers, he ment exclusive software to specific hardware. So for hardware it can revolve around the software

That would be applying to much logic to the analyzing the though process of a fanatic. That rarely works.

i've continuously read and collected comic books since the third grade, and now i'm a college junior. it doesn't get more fanboy than that.

as a kid one halloween, i dressed up as shang chi. marvel comics like a mofo.

I'm not nerdy enough to pledge my alligance to one system and sekk to destroy the rest. I don't care about the systems. Just give me good games. But in regard to games... SEGA

Of the current systems I own a PS2, NGC, Xbox, DC, a high end PC I built, and a GBA SP, and Im not a fanboy of any one of those systems, but I like the PC and Xbox the best. However, I am getting more and more disapointed by Nintendo. The only Gamecube games I want are the exclusives, and even then thats not many compaired to the number of games I want for other systems. I just hope they get their act together for the next generation of systems.

I put the choices I did because I wanted it based on hardware, besides even if I did put it with the companies Capcom wins..... no challenge

I try to not be a fanboy, but I suppose I do lean toward the XBox because I like the games it has more than the others.

But of course that may change with the next set of consoles. I follow the games I like, not the hardward.

Agree'd. PS2 i bought around launch and I favor the most. Mainliy because of all the RPG's and Metal Gear. Also like the diversity of games (Katamari Damacy, Eye toy, DDR). Just recently got a cube in March. It's great system, but not enough games for me. Good multiplayer, and a few good single player games. No online either. That is a definite negative. Most of their games would be great online.

I just hate how they treat their consumers. Shortage of PS2's to creat demand. DRE's (personally never had the problem). ONLY 2 CONTROLLER PORTS!!!! That is just annoying. I had to buy a $35 multitap. The orientation is different on each game too. Some games require the multiap in first slot, others the second. It might be because I have a third part, but it usually takes me a few mins to sort everything out when i have 4 players. I really hope they dont do this for PS3. But I will most likely buy that because of the games.

I'm biased against Gamecube, the only good exclusives IMO are Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash. Those aren't enough to carry a system, and Shigeru Myamato (I probably butchered the spelling) is way too full of himself and no longer has any good ideas. Also they don't get many of the games that are on both of the other systems.

PS2 has the best exclusives (Jak, Ratchet, Getaway, Maximo, Mark of Kri, Final Fantasy, San Andreas, Time Crisis, Kingdom Hearts, Sly, etc..).

XBOX has less exclusives (Buffy, Halo 2,Dead or Alive, Fable, Mechassault, Crimson Skies, Midtown Madness, R63 BA) , especially if you consider games on PC not XBOX exclusive (I do), but it generally has the best version of most games and most great games come to both PS2 & XBOX.

I have had much more trouble with XBOXs (3 Broke), and Sony does offer Free Repairs (if you ask for a replacement you'll get a free controller, AC cord, and AV cable).

i'm not biased. right now i am playing my xbox most only because i dont have many games for my gamecube and have to buy a new ps2. if i had more gc games i would play that a lot more.

I am a Xbox Fan Boy, Not because of Halo. But because of the things that the Hardware provided with no additional cost. My comparisons will be between the Xbox and PS2 because Nintendo died for me after the SNES, I only liked 1 game on the N64 and so far nothing really interests me on the GC.

The Xbox provided:
4 controller ports, no need to buy a multi-tap (I have friends and we use all 4 ports).
Harddrive so I did not need to buy a memory card.
Built in Modem.

These are all things that I would have had to purchase with the first PS2 and even though the PStwo has a modem it will not support a harddrive.

The closest thing to the Xbox is one of my other favorite systems the Dreamcast only missing the Harddrive.

Then there is XBL makes it makes the system so much more fun, especially now with Halo 2 the best FPS online console experience.

Then you have KOTOR!!!!!

So those are my reasons.

Although I own all three systems and a GBA, I consider myself a Microsoft fanboy, thanks to Halo, Starwars KOTOR and a great amount of good third party software, especially from Sega although that probably won't be the case come XBox 2 thanks to bad Sega sales on XBox.

I don't consider myself really biased hardware-wise, I believe every console out currently has their strong points, and I enjoy each of them. Still a SEGA gal at heart, though. :)

Well, I own all consoles and play all consoles, but I'm really a Sony fanboy. My reason is that I love Sony first party games way more than both Nintendo and MS. It has pretty much all the Japanese RPG games I love along with several music dance games. I love platform games a lot and PS2 is filled with them.

Xbox is great, but what mostly hurts it is that it lacks Japanese style RPG games, few music/dance games, and not many platformers exclusive. I'm not too big into the Xbox hardware itself, since my Xbox gives me trouble and lags during gameplay a lot of times, that's why I rarely buy the Xbox version of multiplatform games.

Gamecube is great also, just mostly needs more games that appeal to me. GC has some pretty good Japanese RPG games and a few platformers I like, but it just needs more. It really lacks music/dance games.

That's why I'm a Sony fanboy. PSone is still my favorite console ever. PS2 looks to surpass SNES as my 2nd favorite console. I'm very excited for PSP and PS3.

I have all 3 systems, and I don't have a huge bias toward any of them, although I prefer PS2 because it has more of the types of games I like to play. If I had my way though, Nintendo would still be king!

Of course, I voted as an Xbox fanboy. Anyway, I've always been fascinated by hardware, so obviously the better graphics, stock HDD, and better dependability puts the Xbox on top there. Then there's Xbox Live. Oh, sweet, sweet, Xbox Live--I can't begin on how many countless hours I played logged onto Live. Now about the software, I'm an FPS kind of guy, and naturally, that's Xbox's specialty (besides online-play).

While I love all my systems equally, I'd be seriously PO'd if Nintendo went under. Nintendo (and sega) supplied the most enjoyable times of my early childhood. So if games are available on multiple systems, I try and buy them for the Gamecube.
