I need a type of game and a reason of why this type of game for a study of preferences of people.

Type: Strategy Games

Reason: You actually have to think to plan your next move, predict where your enemy will attack, and how the enemy plans to do so.

Type: Action RPGS

Reason: I like an action combat system that requires you to be able to think on the fly rather than kill pacing with turns, melded with the character growth and item variation associated with RPGs.

action/adventure mostly but that can change depending on the mood im in. i like games where you can explore things where action and exploration are there for you to do but not forced on you.i know you can do alot of that with rpgs but the extent they do that at can be annoying since they always make me feel like im missing or overlooking something. thts a big part of the reason i still havent finished pokemon diamond i feel overwhelmed by alot of what you can do and need to do ( levelling up pokemon , finding items, finding pokemon).

years ago i was big into fighting games and i still like the 2d stuff from neo geo and capcom but fighting games nowdays are all the same even with 3d graphics youre still just moving in a fixed circle.

Can I say every game, or should I arbitrarily narrow my selection?

I suppose I'll just say first-person shooter and because I enjoy competition.

Type: FPS

Reason(s): First person view is the easiest method to immerse myself in the game world. And I tend to have th most fun playing FPSs.

FPS - I like calling people my bitch, insulting their sexuality, making lewd references about their mother, then telling them to suck on phallic objects on myself or others.

Edit - Oh, and I also like to eat tortilla chips really loudly towards my headset. Can only truly enjoy doing that on FPS games.

All of the above except I would also tell people to die in a fire. I also refer to everyone as "lady" reguardless of their gender :D

Easy games - for entertainment I like a challenge but not frustration - I don't like games where I have to repeat a level a million times or has an impossible boss - so I play games with an easy mode or a mode I know is fun but I can beat for entertainment.

Other things Geo calls people: fur$$$, lobster-cunt, and "triple-breasted whore of Eroticon V".

I plan to test his theory as to whether or not this only works in FPS' with voice-chat-having Fire Emblem DS.

True point. Ahh.. should ask Hotshot what I called people at Griffball :D

I've been fairly good on Left4Dead though... but man I'm annoying on Resistance 2.

Although I like all types of games in terms of fun, my mainstays are:

Type: RTS

Reason: Thinking on the fly, managing resources gets my adrenaline rushing (something about being in command of a military force at your disposal)

Type: Fighting (more 2D than 3D)

Reason: In contrast to an RTS, fighting is more personal and on a one-to-one basis (something about bashing someone's face and body in that is quite satisfying. I suppose it satisfies the inner base animal drive to dominate another; even more so when you hear the announcement of a 'Perfect' or 'Flawless Victory')

Type: TRPG

Reason: Tactical RPGs satisfy my need to outthink an opponent in a chess-like format.

I like all sorts of games, except fighters for the most part, but that's because I'm terrible at them. I'll try to narrow it down.

Action/Adventure: I like these because of...well, the action. I also like a story to go with all the action. Adventure portions of the action/adventure genre usually provides a story to an extent.

Next up;
RPG: I usually prefer a slow paced RPG. I hate Action RPG's where it seems like all you do is run up to an enemy, mash the attack button and move on. I'm playing Suikoden now and have been loving it, but my favorite of all time was FFX. Story, gameplay, all encompassing.

I like really complex SRPGs that require extensive planning for every battle. I don't really have the time for there kinds of games anymore though. Nowadays I mostly stick to simple flash games like tower defence or something.
