What video game ring tone would/do you have?
My phone has Phoenix Wright yell, "OBJECTION!" and then plays one of the fast-paced in-court songs from the first DS game. :)
I'm going to have to ask that you post that immediately, thanks.
Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I dont have a bluetooth capable pc. I got the chocolate tho. And I plan on building a new desktop in the spring, so soon...

I also couldnt care less what people think of me or my ringtones. Anway, I keep my phone on vibrate 95% of the time, cos ANY ringtone is annoying when its going off on the bus or train, in the store, etc...

And Mrs. Puffa doesnt care about my Mario Bros ringtone one way or the other. She has Jefferson Airplane for her ringtone! lol
For verizon wireless people. you can email the ringtones to your phone as long as its in mid format. if the file is in mp3 format. change the format to mid by just changing the extension on the file. then email it to your phone. the email address for your phone is (your phone number)@vzwpix.com. It will cost you 10 cents for the picture msg. i have also found a way to get free ring tones from verizon without having to pay for them.

my text message sound is the final fantasy fanfare tune. i also have, but dont currently use, ffvii jenova and a katamari song on there for ringtones.

i prefer to use my metal ringtones.
I use a program called Mobile Phone Tools 3.23. Motorola sells it for something like $25, but with a little Google time, you may find it for free. Then you just patch the phone into your computer via USB, and start cranking out MP3 ringtones. I use Audacity to personally crop and tweak the sounds to get just what I want -- fade-in and all that stuff. Just make sure to tone down the volume, or it'll be way too loud on your phone.

Another ringtone I use is Devo's cover of "Workin' in a Coal Mine" whenever one of my editors calls.
i also use mobile phone tools, it works great and is very easy to use. but i use soundforge to edit my mp3s, cut em, fade em and mono em to save space.

i used to have the legend of zelda theme on my old nokia 3390, it was all just tones from that "make your own ring tone" feature that had a little noise for every key pressed..i wonder if sites still have that thing up..it reminded me so much of old school cheat codes ..press these numbers for the zelda ring tone! and at the end , it was!

Anyone know where I can get the sound that plays in Zelda when you discover something in a dungeon? I'd like that as my text tone.
i have also found a way to get free ring tones from verizon without having to pay for them.
Okay, you can't just throw something out there like that and not elaborate! :)

I have right now:
FF7 Victory Fanfare
FFX Hymn of Faith
Zelda OoT Bolero of Fire
Phoenix Wright investigation theme (looking for HOLD IT or OBJECTION clip, but haven't found one online yet - if a CAG could help me out and shoot me a link, I'd be appreciative)

And, shipwreck, the program is BITPIM. You can't do bluetooth file transfers from a Mac, though - I have to fire up my Window's laptop every time I want to move ringtones back and forth.
I made it myself by splicing a few files together.

I thought I had a compressed (MP3) version of it, but I guess not. And I'm too lazy to do so, but I've uploaded it in its WAV version. It's 30 seconds long with a little dead air at the end so it doesn't repeat.

Enjoy! :)
Do you have the raw files for "Objection" or a PW "Hold It"?

That's AWESOME. Thanks a lot!
thanks for the info, Violent Lee! I dl'd both the motorola tool and the mp3 software. now i just need a usb cord for the phone. i may have one, just have to look for it. if not, i can probably pick one up at best buy or something.
I'm sure you have one of those cables; it's about the most generic USB cable known to man.

These would be great (all from games and stuff people SHOULD listen to):

I checked and I do. I'll be playing around with this stuff tonight. Thanks again, bro.
I'm glad this thread was bumped this morning. I was just redoing everything on my phone since I got a memory card for it. Besides vgmusic being the best resource, Wii users should check out this thread http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121278. I'm digging the Wii Sports theme myself.
Sorry for the double post...two separate items to address...

Where the heck is the wii sports theme? I've dl'd all the wii stuff i can find and I haven't found the themes from wii sports. That'd be awesome to have that stuff on my phone!!

so you all know, most cell carriers it's free to download any ringtones. Send a text message to your e-mail address. Reply to that e-mail with a blank subject and nothing type in the e-mail. Just attach the tone to the e-mail and send. I got verizon and it works everytime.

This thread reminded me to update my ringtone, so now I've got the Steel Samurai theme as well :) My ghetto cell phone can't play mp3s, but thankfully it can play wavs and midis.
daroga u r the man!!!

I was jus gonna use my pc to record the sound on this site:

http://objection.mrdictionary.net/go.php?n=1644923

but I guess u saved me the effort!!!

I've had my ringtone the chorus for "orbit-3" by m-flo ever since I had my phone,

I guess it's finally time to change!!
Glad you enjoy it! :)

To the person who asked, I do have raw files, I'll get them uploaded tomorrow hopefully.

Original arcade version of Pac-man for my ringtone and Whitney Houston saying "kiss my ass" for my message alert. The message alert is really funny when it goes off by old people.
Okay, you can't just throw something out there like that and not elaborate! :)
here are the steps i use.
go to http://vzw.ztango.com/vzwtones
either look for the ringtone you want or search for it
once you got it
click on listen
the song will play using quicktimes
you to file and pick save as
if the file is in mp3 format save it as mid format
open up your email
send the file as an attachment to @vzwpix.com
this counts as a picture msg (normally costs 25 cents if you dont have the plan)
when you receive the msg on your phone
then song will play
go to options and then select save as ringtone
voila ...

This is the most awesome trick in the world and you rule for sharing it.

..except..

it connects and receives but won't save it. Whatssupwitdat?!

Figured it out.

VGMusic FTW!

Holy hell, this is awesome. Thanks again for showing that "email to your cell phone" trick.

No problem man. Let Verizon take it in the butt for making us use their Get It Now! BS.

Umm, you are correct that it was BITPIM that I was talking about, but I do everything on my MacBook including the bluetooth transfers with it. Works great.
hey shipwreck,

did you catch the game?
Off topic, but I watched most of it while I was doing a lot of cleaning up around the house. I'm not a big college football or Ohio State fan to begin with though, so if you are trying to find an Ohio State fan to laugh at, you will have to search elsewhere. I'll continue this conversation if you want to talk about it in the NCAA Football thread in the Off-Topic Forum though.

I have Castlevania 3 Lvl 1 Midi as my current ringtone. But I also Ghouls & Ghosts theme, Jet Set Radio stuff as well. I can wait to get my Sanyo M1 from the Sprint Store on Friday.

Here's where I'm running into an issue. How do I save an mp3 as a mid? I tried just changing the file extension in Windows Explorer, but that didn't work when I sent it to my phone. How do you go about saving the file in mid format?

hmm what phone do you have? don't know about the other carrier since I have been with verizon for years.

I've got a Razr with Verizon.

When I changed the extension, I opened the file in Winamp, and it wouldn't play, saying the length of the track was 0:00. Figured I'd try it anyway, but no luck on the phone. Any thoughts? :)
