What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Just came back from the CD store I like least in the area. Very hard to find anything I want in there, though it's happened a few times.

Just walked with:

Peter Perrett (of The Only Ones) - Hearts on Fire (2xCD)
New Fast Automatic Daffodils - Get Better (single)

Itunes-- (had a $25 gift card)

Squarepusher- Hello Everything
Secret Mommy- Very Rec
Melt Banana- bambi's dilemma
Death From Above 1979 - Romance Bloody Romance
So freakin' good...saw them open for NIN and immediately bought both of their CDs. Too bad they broke up.

Unfortunately, I never got to see them.

The Polyphonic Spree - The Fragile Army

I bought the big boy package from Good Records so I get the CD/DVD/patch, the vinyl edition and an autographed poster. :)

The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin 5.1
Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Radiohead - Airbag [EP]
Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris

Glad to finally get ahold of Airbag, it was really hard to find domestically for as long as I can remember but they did a massive reprinting this spring so you can now pick it up at Best Buy B&M for $8.

Picked up the new QOTSA at Best Buy too since it was the cheapest there and the Best Buy version has an exclusive download inside. The bonus track is a cover of White Wedding (yes, the Bill Idol song) that I actually really liked. Bad news is it's a 160kbps DRMed .WMA file. It was really simple to strip the DRM and convert it to MP3 though, worth the hassle IMO. Ended up tacking it onto the album as the 12th(or 13th?) track.

To strip the DRM download the song and open it with Windows Media Player. You'll then have to activate the license through WMP and once you do that you can exit. Download fairuse4wm* and that'll strip the DRM from the file. After that you can convert it to MP3 freely. I used dbPoweramp since I already had it and because it's so versatile. I also choose VBR/ABR 192kpbs and it sounded fine even after all the steps.

Good call on Pavement...love that band. I have to give Soft Bulletin a re-listen. I don't remember liking it all that much, but Yoshimi and At War with the Mystics have completely changed my view of the Lips.

I saw them open for NIN too back in... November of 2005 I think. Anyhow, I didn't know they had two albums, I only have "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine". It took awhile but it really grew on me.

Just got QOTSA Era Vulgaris yesterday. I assume all the reports of "White Wedding" being on an actual bonus disc were in error? I was disappointed when the ad only mentioned a digital download. I've actually held out on opening mine because I want to make sure there wasn't some physical bonus that my BB ran out of or something.

I know that some retailers had a bonus disc for "The Fun Machine Took a Shit & Died" so maybe people just got confused and reported the BB download as a bonus disc as well?

Mick Ronson - Slaughter on 10th Avenue

Hell yes!
David Bowie's long time guitarist's first solo album back in 72... 74?
It was a masterpiece.

It was the used bin that done it.

I was trying to get out of there without dropping $19 on the new ISIS LP, and managed to do so.

Looking back at my iTunes purchases in the past week, two more:
Diskonto: Diskontography
Skitsystem: Stigmata
and
Kylie Minogue: Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head
.

Where do you find a used bin with Damad and Disrupt? Most I can get is Locust and Accused, and that was pure dumb, once in a lifetime luck.
