V/A - Tribute To Poison Idea - Hangover Heartattack 12"
Poison Idea - Latest Will And Testament
Kill Your Idols - Live At CBGB's

Thinking of picking up the new Bad Religion, anyone get it yet and have any impressions?
Less Than Jake - Anthem
That's a fun album. I listen to them a lot in the summer. If you like Anthem, I recommend their album, Hello Rockview. B Is for B-sides is good too.

I've had Hello Rockview for probably over a year now, and I don't think I've ever actually listened to it.

you need losing streak.
Got that one at the same time as Hello Rockview, and never listened.
do your self a favor and just listen to each once, heck it will take maybe a little over an hour of your time, if you do not enjoy them i will send you $2 in paypal.

If you can get beyond the fact that they did a bad job production wise on purpose (but it does work as it sounds like an album from the early 90's), its a great album (IMO, its thier best album since Stranger Than Fiction).

Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
Interpol - Our Love to Admire
Birthday Massacre - Nothing and Nowhere

Also picked up the new Dresden Dolls live DVD.
I just bought "Pearl Jam - Live at the Gorge 2005/2006" (7 CD set) and it's the first physical CD I've bought since "Pearl Jam" in May 2006.
What do you think of this? I just got it tonight and I'm putting it on my ipod before I go running. VERY excited :D I love PJ, and I love the Gorge...
Jason Isbell - Sirens of the Ditch
It was bad news for me when he left DBT. I saw them at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn, IL.....one of my fave bars....and it was sardine-like....and then opening for the Black Crowes......mesmerizing both times......I hope Isbell puts a Chicago show on his itinerary. He is a cool dude and a great songwriter.
Pearl Jam is a singles band, only they haven't had a decent single in nearly a decade. ;)
You are insane. ;) I think you should like them much more than you do considering we have pretty similar musical tastes based on your posts. Give their latest CD a spin from start to finish (and really listen) and I guarantee you will find more than a few great songs.

I really really love it but I'm probably biased since PJ is my favorite band by miles. I've got literally hundreds of their bootlegs (all of 2000 and 2003 plus a bunch of 2006 and other assorted stuff from back in the day - it's like 400 CDs at least(!).

Like, second-album Audioslave awful.
YES!

And it fucking rocks my socks off.

Best album I've heard all year and best album from Billy Corgan (et al.) in a long fucking time.
Agree'd. It's better than Machina, but I'll have to let it sink in to determine where it fits among the greats. Currently, Mellon Collie is my favorite followed closely by Siamese Dream. I'll say this - Zeitgeist just might have been worth the 7-year wait. ;)

Over the past month:

Heart - Little Queen
Queens Of The Stone Age - Era Vulgaris
Queensryche - Empire
Queensryche - Promised Land
The Who - Who's Next
The Who - The Ultimate Collection
Within Temptation - The Heart of Everything

Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist. An unforgettable album. I hadn't heard any of it til I bought it, and will hopefully forget that this came out. Zwan was much better and at least had some rhythm to it.

Van Halen - Women and Children First
Dracula 2000 soundtrack (mostly because of the exclusive Disturbed, Pantera, System Of A Down, Powerman 5000, and Taproot songs)

Tegan and Sara - The Con

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Is Is
Venetian Snares - Hospitality
Wow...nice choice. Their Winnipeg is a Frozen Shithole is one of my faves, and possibly the best name for a CD ever.

I'm partial to Doll Doll Doll and Rossz Csillag Alatt Született, but Snare's output is so damn awesome, I want everything he does.

Even better that I snagged Hospitality for free.

I bought this on a blind buy, never heard of them but this album is really good so far

Bought the Mute Math CD today. It's pretty excellent.

I like it. Saw them at Lollapalooza and I've been hooked ever since. Their other album, So Jealous, is a lot poppier and hooky...you might want to check it out, too, if that kind of thing works for you.

I was interested in Mute Math solely by the name. Can you compare them to anything?

I'm wondering the same thing. I've only heard one or 2 of their songs.

I purchased The Good, the Bad, and the Queen. I have listened to it a few times already. Just orderd the newest Spoon album from a recommendation. Never heard them before.

They're tough to describe...I told a co-worker today that they're sort of a more artsy version of OK Go, but I realize that doesn't really sell it.

Mute Math is ultimately a "pop rock" band with well-programmed electro hooks. Allmusic.com compares them to Radiohead, New Order, and the Stone Roses.

Check out their YouTube page...their video for "Typical" is especially cool.

The CD was only $10.99 at Target.
