What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Death Cab for Cutie - Plans
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds - Live at Radio City

I remember when I received the DMB newsletter announcing the concert with Tim Reynolds. I really like the Dave & Tim Live at Luther College CD, so I was really hoping this one would be released on CD as well. I'm glad they decided to release it.

... 15 Beatles CDs.

I've always wanted to own all the music they recorded together (Except the weird remix Love cd which I hate)

Buying this music took my mind off of several things that are bothering me (such as my dead Xbox 360), and I'm going to really enjoy having them.

Since I bought them all at the same time... here's the full list:

2. With the Beatles
3. A Hard Day's Night

From what I've heard of the Toy Guns, it sounds like guilty pleasure but awful music. I might buy the album if I see it for a couple bucks.

Also, how's that VHS or Beta CD? I heard a couple tracks from their first album and was considering a blind-buy of this one, they seem like a pretty cool band.
Did you like this? I was a little...underwhelmed.
I actually haven't listened to it yet. Picked it up used, they had a buy 3 get 1 free deal going, and I couldn't find anything else (I had to meet someone for lunch around the corner).

It's good. More of what I was expecting from them. If you don't have Night on Fire, their first CD, I'm tempted to suggest grabbing that first.

If you like TV on the Radio or (especially) Bloc Party, you'll dig VHS or Beta.

Don't know the last but I know my next will be Mat Kearney - Nothing Left to Lose on Sept. 20th. He will be performing during Austin Peay's homecoming week. I've listened to the whole CD on his website and it is an all around good album.

Got a couple new Asian Man releases in the mail today.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World 12"
The Hot Toddies - Smell The Mitten
Shinobu/Pteradon Split 7"
Mike Hale/Chris Wollard Split 7"

Optimus Rhyme - Self Titled
Optimus Rhyme - School of Indie Rockers

Picked em up at PAX and got one of the CD's signed by the singer and guitarist.
Stabbing Westward - The Essential Stabbing Westward
Is there any "previously unreleased" stuff on this, or is it just recycled tracks?

I've always been of the mind that Ungod is the essential Stabbing Westward CD.
Minus the Bear - Planet of Ice
Art In Manila - Set the Woods on Fire
Rilo Kiley - Under the Black Light
MF Doom - MM.. Food?
DOOM + Minus the Bear = Great choices. I haven't heard the others so I cannot comment.

2 Deep Elm Records samplers for $.01, but $3.98 for shipping. Thats how they git ya! I might take them up on their "30 CD's for $39" offer though, I'm a sucker for 15 free posters and 15 free stickers.

Organized Konfusion's self titled
Common Sense, Finding Forever
Talib Kweli, Ear Drum
Da Bush Babees, Gravity
... and Lyricist Lounge 2

It's all previously released material.

Got the new Mustard Plug - In Black And White CD today with a signed poster, pretty good so far. Also got the blue, gold, and silkscreen vinyls and CD set of S.S.S.P. (Skinheads Still Scare People) - For Life, from former members of Kill Your Idols.

Also got 25 CDs for $25 from Asian Man Records a few days ago, got CDs including The Lawrence Arms - Cocktails & Dreams, Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit, The Toasters - Enemy of the State, The Bruce Lee Band - S/T, 7 other bands, and 14 doubles. Still a pretty good deal with all the doubles I got since I was eventually going to get the Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio CDs.

I bought Every Time I Die's new cd which came out on tuesday, aptly named "the big dirty." great cd, I love it. definately not a letdown like so many others I got this year.

Since I have an iPod, I don't really buy CDs, but the last full album I bought on iTunes was Silverstein's "Arrivals and Departures" which was absolutely solid. They're a pretty consistent band.
Bat For Lashes - Fur and Gold

Recommended if you like Feist.
So I'll like Feist if I like Bat for Lashes ? ;)

I heard Bat for Lashes perform a live studio set on the radio while I was shuttling between Gamestops last month tracking down cheap GBA games. They are fantastic.

My last CD: Laura Love - Shum Ticky
So I'll like Feist if I like Bat for Lashes ?
Probably a safe bet...they're not clones, by any means, but I think they've got enough in common to warrant the recommendation.
