What was the worst movie you ever saw at the movie theater?

Believe me when I tell you, that none of these movies comes even close to arguably the worst piece of tripe to ever get shot out of the turd chute....

Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn in 3-d.

Jared-Syn was not destroyed,
Peanuts cartoons have better 3-d
and the movie lasted about 20 minutes (thankfully, as it turns out)

Every other bad movie pales in comparison to this...
A tie between Wing Commander & Wild Wild West
I was so looking forward to Wing Commander as I enjoyed the Wing Commander Games. But man what happened? Special Effects were great. Too bad the DVD is hard to find :(

WWW was entertaining and I watch it here and there on TBS/TNT when I pops up.
No Country for Old Men.

Horrible, horrible fuckin' movie.
You better be making some sick joke, I haven't seen the movie yet and I already know it is gonna be awesome.

I don't see too many heinous movies in the theatre, because I'm the shit, but I have been dragged to some pretty horrible garbage.

Alien vs. Predator, White Noise and Anchorman are probably the worst.

I usually am able to avoid bad movies in the theater, but 2 do come to mind:
1. Anchorman - I like Will Farrel, I guess I just don't like him as the lead.
2. Terminal Velocity - I went in blindly to this movie (friends wanted to see it). It's not the type of film I usually watch, so that could be part of it. However, its endless cliches and completely predictable story line didn't help.

That Jim Carrey movie where it took place in his brain or something, and he tries to get back his girlfriend or wife. I can't recall the entire plot. The movie was terrible. I think it even had Carrey's character jagging off for some reason, lol. Just garbage.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? There may be some CAGs who consider them fightin words.

Eternal Sunshine was great. The worst movie I've ever seen at the theater was Scary Movie 3, good god was it awful. I actually went with my older brother opening weekend, as we'd both gotten a few chuckles from the previous installments. We laughed once the entire movie. Once. I'd have had more fun watching myself light the $20 bill on fire.

I'm not sure. I think part of the reason is that I went with a friend who asked if I wanted to see the new Jim Carrey movie. I was expecting a comedy or comedy/drama. Maybe I'll rent it one of these days to see if I like it but from what I remember I wasn't really into it.

Graveyard Shift. I'll admit, more recent Stephen King movies are playing Russian Roulette anyway, but this one was totally awful. Of course, the frame of mind I was in in the first place, didn't help--had driven two hours to spend the weekend with what I thought was a girlfriend and go to her prom or homecoming or something; as soon as I got there she basically dumped me (while not saying anything was wrong or that I had done or not done anything). She basically would have been fine for me to turn around and go home, but since I was already there, her mom suggested/forced us to grab a couple of her friends and go see a movie, and we chose this mess.
Other than that, Happy Feet, but we went mainly for my boy and he enjoyed it to an extent; otherwise, if I'm going to spend 20 bucks on one viewing of a movie, it's got to be something I'm pretty sure I'll at least like a little bit.

I'll go ahead and say Fahrenheit 9-11. I knew that I was going into a Documentary and I've even enjoyed other works by Moore but damn this one just didn't feel like it would ever end! I went with my girlfriend and both of us were so close to sleep that we had to walk around the parking lot for a while just to wake up enough to drive home. I'm still pissed that I wasted that much money on that.

That's how I felt when I saw Into the Wild. I was almost in a coma by the time it was over, but then my friend and I started discussing it, and I started to get all worked up about everything that was wrong with the movie. We went immediately to the bar.

I've only walked out of a movie once, and that was Dudley Do-Right with Brendan Frasier. What an awful movie.

I don't know what possessed me to go see it, other than I was 12 at the time. Big mistake.

The crew 4 old gansters trying to get in one last score it was absoulte horrid

you'll go straight to hell sir thats an amazing movie what are you going say next clockwork orange?

Back in high school, my friends and I went to the movies nearly every Friday to see something 'new'. We watched whatever was out so I had my share of crap movies.

The worst of the bunch would have to be...The Queen of the Damned. It was a vampire flick that starred the late singer Aaliyah. Thought it was going to be a cool vampire movie a la Blade...but sadly it was the worst blood sucking piece of shit I've ever seen and had the displeasure of paying for.

Mission To Mars. Proof that Brian DePalma is nothing but a ripoff. Ripoff designs and looks from a number of classic sci-fi films, put in a boring ass plot with an ending that is dumb.... I'd love to forget this piece of crap.

A Clockwork Orange certainly isn't a great film by any stretch, either.

BUG (2006)

So much potential, but such a farce.. insanity is contagious in this one..

second pick:

Hairspray (2007)
I was taken to see this and kept asking myself, "Why, Why, Why- don't mess with something if its not broken."
John Water's films are just fine as they are don't remake them.. Ugh

My father's friend once told me that critic Roger Ebert was responsible for making one of the worst movies of all time. I wish I could remember which movie.

House of the Dead. Dear god. Had a friend who wanted to see it and decided to humor him since I hadn't caught up with him in like a year. But jesus it was terrible
did anyone mention Dead or Alive?

I have yet to see this movie :|
In my Netflix queue. Not sure if I want to torture myself with it, but it actually looked okay from the previews.

It was actually in a limited release in my area, but the closest theater playing it was 45 minutes away.. I didn't want to go all the way out there to see a shitty movie then get stuck in rush hour traffic for another 1hr.

I got a decent list:

Gothika - I actually made fake exaggerated screams at the parts that you'd supposedly otherwise be expected to scream at that really got the audience going. What were they thinking with this trash?

Daredevil - Ya, this movie sucks, easily the worst super hero movie to date (yes, far worse than X-men 3 or Spiderman 3)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning - Ya, this movie was the beginning alright, the beginning of my boredom for 90 minutes of my life. Terrible, just blood and guts and no sense.

Signs - Woahhh, I'm Mel Gibson and I'm in another super natural movie! DRRRRRR

I'm done

It's hard to pick just one. My immediate picks would be Colour Purple and Ishtar, but being as I feel asleep multiple times during both, maybe that's unfair. I'm pretty sure the worst movie I've seen in the theaters that I actually stayed awake for was Needful Things. Complete trash. Although if I had seen Spider-man 3 in a theater, I would probably agree with the OP. That is the worst movie I've seen since Batman Forever. At what point is Marvel going to realize that running all of their properties into the ground is going to hurt them in the long run. Even the products that started out good, like FF and X-men, suck balls now. Spider-man never had a chance though. Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane is one of the worst pieces of casting in the history of cinema, right up there with Arnold and Bane in the same movie and ARNOLD IS NOT PLAYING BANE. Who the fuck made that decision?

Edit: To the poster above me: I disagree on Daredevil. Bad casting, but other than that, it wasn't horrible. Better than Catwoman, Batman Forever, Spider-man 1 and 3, FF2, and Hulk, at the very least. Probably better than the Thomas Jane Punisher movie and Ghost Rider as well, but I've not subjected myself to them yet.

Look, I think we need to come to grips that Spider-Man 3 was not made for the fans, but to play equally well worldwide (the budget mandated that it leave no 'demo' uncatered to, no non-English speaker confused) and play to hyperactive, petulant eight-year-olds. Actually, I'm convinced it was written by a hyperactive, petulant eight-year-old. Can I get a confirmation on that, please?

And this is where some Comic Book Guy comes in and defends it for really 'getting' the true pulpy, campy, fun-loving nature of the character! To give it dramatic heft would only be betraying its roots! Raimi and Sony really 'get it'! Right?

The first TMNT movie. Cowabunga!!! Completely forgot that I had seen it in the theater until a friend reminded me a few weeks ago.

As for Wing Commander, I had hoped it would come out better. The fighters looked terrible. The cut scenes in Wing Commander III (3DO) were better.

Glad I did not pay to see Battlefield Earth. I wanted to slit my throat when I did see it. Ruined an excellent book for me.

 Just thought of another one. "I Come In Peace" with Dolph Lundgren. They even show this movie any more?

Just hoping they don't screw up "Ender's Game".

The Horse Whisperer, my dad made the family and I go see it around the time it came out. Most boring movie I can remember ever watching.

Rush Hour 3 for me. I fell asleep a few times watching that disappointment. They used the same jokes and formula only this time they executed it a lot more poorly.

I think anything post-Masters of the Universe with that name is guaranteed suckage.

two way tie between:

"Waterworld" and "The Postman"

God, I still want that money back. I still feel like a fool for risking "The Postman" after seeing "Waterworld" a few years earlier.

Kevin Costner sucks.
