Battle Beasts
I remember my favorite toys were probably Battle Beasts. They were small animal fighters that belonged to either a fire, water or wood. They had insignias on their chests that you'd rub to see what element they were from. They were some damn cool toys.

Monsters in my Pocket
Looking back on it, they were kinda lame. But the coolest part was you'd soak the package in water and watch it dissolve, then you'd see what kind of monster you got. They were popular enough for an NES game, though.

Bravestar
Bravestar was another cool toy I was into for awhile. We had several of the characters and some kind of bank and saloon building.

Also, do you guys remember the toys that were in the shape of a baseball, football or basketball, but were screaming heads? Those were always pretty fun to mess around with.

Also, what was the name of that cool remote-control car that had claws that came out from the wheels and supposedly would help it crawl over things? My brother had one, and I thought it rocked.
 
Yeah, Battle Beasts were awesome! Everything else I liked goes under the obvious list though.
 
I had the full Voltron 2? assembly, thing had like 25 different characters when it was fully assembed, stood like 3 feet tall, and was all metal. I spent a rediculous amount of time with that thing.. till my mother gave it away.. damn thing is worth a mint now.
 
i remember monsters in my pocket. Those used to rock hard. I had this stuffed creature called my pet monster. It was freakin hideous, but for some reason, i loved the damn thing. Don't remember much of it though, i got it when i was about 2 and had it till i was about 8.

I recently picked up a bunch of my old toys from my parents' house (now that I have a house they made me either get them or they were going to give them to Goodwill).

I don't really want them though, so I'm going to try to sell them on eBay. The only ones I've tried to price out so far are the battle beasts, and (to my jotous surprise) they are being sold on websites for up to $9 each (loose but complete). Yay!

I had some Battle Beasts. They rocked. I also had some Marshall Bravestarr toys I got for cheap.

I was really big into MASK. I had about 70% of the MASK universe.

I was also big into M.U.S.C.L.E. for a while, as well as G.U.T.S. Both were the mini-plastic figures like Monster in My Pocket and Battle Beasts.

Yeah, My Pet Monster was crazy cool. I actually still have mine.

I remember my little brother had trouble making friends when he was little, so my mom bought him a My Buddy. Haha, he took that damn thing everywhere he went.
 
Go-Bots.
Came out right around the same time as Transformers and kind of got lost in the shuffle.
I guess it was like beta and vhs...one of the two was going to make it and unfortunately for Go-Bots, they were the beta model.

Also Mattel's release of Shogun Warriors here in the US - Posable 3 Ft tall Japanese plastic robots (including Mazinger Z) that shot fists, missiles etc ...later in the line's history they released Godzilla and Rodan (!) as well
 
Hey, I just remembered Centurions. Anyone remember those? There were three main guys, one for water, air, and earth. They had sockets all over them where you could snap on armor and weapons.
 
Do any of you remember thoose toys that you had to boil and the plastic around it would come off or I'm I going crazy and making up toys that I thought i had when i was a kid lol
 
I loved the Batman action figures. I had a bunch of those. I also had a lot of the Power Rangers Zords. I nearly had the complete Thunderzord set, except for that stupid turtle which I could never find. For a short while I was also into Mighty Max. Does anyone remember those? It would be some weird shape (a skull or something), and when you'd open it it would be some bad guy's lair and you would have a few little action figures. I was also a huge Lego person. I had almost all of the Ice Planet sets and the entire Explorers collection.
 
Contrux were awesome too. It was somewhat like Lego's or Erector Set's but it was all military stuff, very fun it its time. And yea, I was huge into all of the building things.

The Mighty Max cartoon was the greatest cartoon I've ever watched. Greatness, simply greatness.
 
Pogs were the coolest thing since sliced bread. Me and my brother used to play with them all the time. I remember they came in packs of about 5 for $3 or so.

Obviously, Transformers and TMNT were a huge part of our youth.

Did anyone ever get the knock-off version of Monster in my pocket? They were the kind you got in a $.25 vending machine. Every time we went to the grocery store I had to get one. I probably had a hundred of those things. They were the perfect size for a Lego ship or building.
 
I never liked Mighty Max for some reason, although at the time it seemed pretty deep for a kid's cartoon show.

Back on topic, my favorite toys were Monster in my Pocket, TMNT, Transformers and He-Man and Thundercats (yeah I know all mainstream).

Though I remember I had this badass guy from COPS - crime in a future time (or something like that) with a motorcycle which the handlebars could be shot out like a missile. That was my favorite toy ever, well until I lost the handlebars.

I dunno man, I was into them for awhile until I realized I how stupid the game actually was.
 
Wow another battle beasts fan, that is amazing. I loved them. I don't know if I might have some of them with all my old toys, pretty sure I lost all of the weapons though. I also love Lego's but those are pretty generic I think.
 
GI JOE's they were the shit & TMNT the movie one that were rubbery and all the cars and stuff were so awesome. remeber the robocop that you put the cap gun string in his back and he would pop them if you pulled the tigger on his back.
 
My Legos are still great, and I also had an almost complete collection of He-man and Thundercats toys, which were awesome.
 
The orginal Star Wars figures from the late 70's and early 80's were my favortie. I still have many of them still today.

What I mad about is when I was younger I sold a lot of my old toys in a yard sale. Transformers, G.I. Joe, He-Man, and even a few Star Wars figures.

I wish I still had some of those toys :cry:
 
TMNT all the way, but I loved Battle Beasts and Monsters in my Pocket too. For some weird reason, the only Battle Beasts I had were the ones my neighbor gave me, I never could find them at stores.

Also, I was crazy about pogs! I'm starting to regret leaving my chest of them at my house when my family moved out a few months ago. :(
 
When I was little I was really into Batman, TMNT, and Ghostbusters, and I had a bunch of those toys. Today I have a ton of Godzilla toys.
 
Legos all the way. Thanks to them NO ONE can't fuck with my "Assembly required" furniture skills. My mother recently asked me to gift my lego's to my 5 year old nephew. Naturally I said no.
 
Damn how did I forget about construx? I guess I was a bit older when I played with those, but I love those things. I have about 12 or 13 boxes in my attic I'm saving for my kids. :)
 
Constructs were sweet too. I liked Lincoln Logs also, but I never had enough of them to finish anything
 
i remember stretch, my friend had one.. i was jealous that i never has one. there was also these toys were u pump up there heads, and they would be strech-able.
 
I forgot to mention something. HOT WHEELS! Was I the only one who had a huge collection of hot wheels cars? To this day, I still have two giant baskets filled with them. Luckily, I had a little brother, so I never had to get rid of my toys. They're all sitting in his closet to this day.
 
Legos were number one for me.
Nerf guns were pretty awesome. ( the high quality ones, not the cheap ones they make today).

Ohh, jsut remember my Nerf swords, they were awesome, except the always broke and got smaller and smaller.
 
My favorite 'toy' was actually my Green Machine. Anyone here remember the Green Machine? It was like a Big Wheel but sooo much sexier. All the Big Wheel kids were so freakin' jealous...
