I'm new to the search, so if anyone has an all-purpose info link they can point me to, I'd be grateful.

What is the lowest price I can get away with for just a run-of-the-mill CD/DVD burner that will do what I need it to (copy DVD's for viewing on a car player)?

Thanks, and if this topic is inappropriate, please just do away with it.

I got mine for about $80 AR about a year ago at Office Max. I'd assume that you could find one for $50 or less if you look hard enough and don't mind rebates.

Check this Sunday's flyers - usually Best Buy, Circuit City, and Comp USA have sales on DVD burners. I'm sure you can pick something decent up for $50 or so.

Wow, I'm an easy sale. I just got the NEC 3520A @ Newegg.

Thanks for the tip.

I'm hoping the software is fairly user-friendly. I've used Nero, CDRWIN, etc. before, but only on copying Cd-Roms. I've never even attempted a movie before.

In any case, we'll see in a few days. Thanks again.

As spidey said, the drive is OEM. No software, cables, anything.

Check out Nero. It's fantastic.
