What's BB's policy on pricematch?

I wish I had a store that actually PM'd, but the jerks at my BB act like pricematching something is some foreign idea. When I last tried to pricematch Ghost Recon 2 with a legitimate ad, they refused with some BS excuse like "Umm we don't have enough copies of this game, so we can't match it." I then asked if that was a real rule or if the manager made it up.

With a receipt you get an extra 10%. So that means you have to first buy the game/DVD/whatever at FULL price and then walk over the customer service desk to do the PM and get the difference + 10% refunded to you.

IMO, the chance that they'll decide the PM is not allowable (so you'd have to do a full return or eat the full cost) plus the extra time and hoops are not worth a 10% of the diff match (this is rarely more than a buck or two extra) So I've never actually done this. I just take the straight PM.

Sears does an extra 10% as well as Circuit City.

thegamer - Man you have a shitty BB. That BS would really piss me off.

BB needs to have a print ad of the competitor's price with the price clearly marked. They'll call to check on it, and if they don't get an answer or they don't have it in stock, you're out of luck. PM'ing from a receipt is YMMV, since it's not part fo the stated policy.

BB will only match the shown price at time of purchase. To get the extra 10% off, you have to do what wubb said, you have to buy it at full price and go to the CS desk after the fact, or after the fact if it's in the 30 day timeframe.

BB will only PM their own price, they won't beat it by 10% after the fact.

BB will only match the competitor's closest physical store to the BB. So, if Target has something for cheaper and the store closest to the BB doesn't have it in stock, you can't PM it there. You would have to go to the BB that is closest to the store that has it.

BB is never allowed to limit PM possibilities due to quantity on-hand. If they did it, like thegamer said they did, they broke their rules and you have a legitimate beef to call the corp office about. That's complete BS that they jacked you like that.

As a comparsion, CC will match any local competitor that has it in stock within 25 miles of the store, plus they'll do 10% at time of purchase, not needing to do it after the fact. Most of the time, they won't even call about it.

The items listed above are things I've seen at the BB and CC stores around here, so there may be some variance with the stores in your local area.

I just bring an ad to the store and they'll price match it plus 10%. Every time I've done it, they haven't even called the store to see if was in stock, etc. They just manually gave me the percentage off. I like my BB.

You should of given them a Styles Clash... that would get a 110% price match done on the spot for sure!

i have never had luck with pricematching. i've tried pricematching at walmart, BB, and CC and they all say it's their policy not to PM. am i being shafted? also, does best buy PM their website?
