What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!

The Drop for this week:
PlayStation Network

Rush’N Attack Ex-Patriot: Rush’N Attack Ex-Patriot takes players through three massive environments of a Siberian prison complex, a bio-weapons laboratory, and a nuclear weapons base. In each location, gamers will have to complete a variety of mission and survive encounters with a variety of Russian soldiers from prison guards to elite paratrooper, snipers, and more.

Free Realms: A light-hearted MMO designed for a broad range of game players, including children and families. Free Realms allows you to do what you want to do, when you want to do it, in a lush, living, 3D world, filled with rich landscapes and fun wildlife. From pet raising to mini-games like soccer and racing, or battling giant spiders and adventuring with friends – there’s something for everyone! With weekly and monthly content updates, regular and special events scheduled, and even the potential player-created parties and celebrations there is always something new to see and do in the world of Free Realms. Read PlayStation.Blog Coverage.

Split/Second: An intense action racing game set within the world of a hyper-competitive reality television show. Competitors vie to be the first across the finish line in a made-for-TV city built for destruction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the season champion. Competitors in Split/Second don’t just collide with other vehicles to knock them from the track — they can also trigger explosive events that drastically alter the dynamics of the race. Players must use strategy and pinpoint timing to derail opponents, tactically alter the track or create entirely new routes.

Chime Super Deluxe: Chime mixes up the addictive action of puzzle games like Tetris with elements of music synthesizing. You arrange note blocks on a grid which form patterns of sound, then secure them by surrounding them with other blocks, intensifying the audio and creating new melodies as you play. As you build larger block segments (quads) and cover the grid, the combo meter starts and the underlying song develops in full. But take care – if you build yourself into a corner, the blocks shatter and the music dies. Read PlayStation.Blog Coverage

Sonic The Hedgehog: Burst the videgame speed barrier wide-open with Sonic the Hedgehog. Blaze by in a blur using the super sonic spin attack. Loop the loop by defying gravity. Plummet down tunnels. Then dash to safety with Sonic’s power sneakers. All at a frenzied pace. Sonic has an attitude that just won’t quit!

Moon Diver: At the dawn of the 22nd century, an evil power brought inanimate objects to life, and they turned on humanity. Bridges, automobiles, cities – the whole of humanity’s creations were all made to turn on their makers. Mankind’s fears of apocalypse became reality! Read PlayStation.Blog Coverage

Back to the Future: The Game Episode 2: This episodic game series takes you back in time as Marty and Doc embark on a completely new cinematic time-travel adventure based on the blockbuster movie franchise about a nutty scientist who has invented a time-traveling DeLorean.

The 3rd Birthday (Also on PSN): Hideous creatures descend on Manhattan. Ground reports from the squad tasked with containing the pandemonium refer to these life forms as the Twisted. An investigatory team known as the CTI is formed within the year. The Overdive system emerges as a means of opposition, but only one viable candidate exists — Aya Brea. A gift as she awakens from a lost past on this, the occasion of her third birth.

WWE All Stars (Also on PSN): WWE All Stars encompasses a fluid, intuitive and original gameplay style, creating a highly competitive environment and an engaging spectacle. Packed with high-flying, hard hitting and over the top action, players will explore a variety of responsive quick grapples, strong grapples, standing and running attacks, as well as combination sequences.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (Also on PSN): Blazers are gallant warriors that consider the well being of others and the safety of the land as their priority, and work hard to defeat monsters and criminals. Estel is an aspiring Blazer who lives near the city of Rolento in Rebel Kingdom. Together with her friend Yoshua, Estel continues to train herself in the arts of Blazers. The story begins when Estel’s father receives a strange letter, starting a chain of events. The Legend of Heroes VI gives players an assortment of gameplay with its Blazer quest system, cooking system, opal arts system and many other features. With highlights like the AT bar and the AT bonus, battles in The Legend of Heroes give players that further tactical edge.

Dragon’s Lair: A portable version of the classic FMV videogame. In this single-player action game, you play as heroic knight Dirk the Daring as he journeys to a mysterious castle filled with danger, in order to save the fair Princess Daphne from the forces of evil and the towering dragon Singe.

Wow...=P~

Moon Diver AND Rush N Attack, almost too much Retro side scrolling goodness for me to handle lately. (Gonna get spoiled)

A heads up for those looking for the Motor Storm Apocalypse Demo, apparently the UK PSN took it down, however it is up on the HK PSN now. (Starting to feel like a wide goose chase or Easter egg hunt for the game.

Lastly for those who aren't familiar with it, the Japanese PSN game called Malicious (I put a random video below) has been available for a few months now (I thought it was a PSP game...oops) and still hasn't been announced for a US PSN release from what I can tell and might not either. (its been out since Oct./Nov. 2010)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvBoqs7qEm4

Anyway the reason I posted it, is because Playasia is having a sale right now (till Wed. the 30th) for their digitial PSN yen cards at a really reasonable price ($13 for 1000 yen, 5000 yen for $50, which is awesome btw, if you want stuff off of the JPN PSN) no tax and you get access to the code immediately.

I grabbed a 1000 yen card and got this game and Einhander with what was left over from my last card. So if you're interested and want to grab it with the US release unknown at this point (maybe a E3 announcement, but its unknown at this time) for cheap, here's an option for ya. ;)

For more information, there's a massive thread over at NeoGAF that details how to play the game and thoughts of the game too, all positive, there is also a patch to balance the game, easy mode, event viewer and to fix camera issues, so keep that in mind as well.
Thanks for breaking the thread. :whistle2:(
Sorry, I saw that, but I didn't know what caused it, I'll delete the URL and see if that fixes it....:whistle2:#

Edit: There just deleted the post to fix the thread then, so we're all happy. ;-)

(The Youtube video botched things up, dunno why....anyway people can look for themselves if they want to see it, since I don't want to cause a formatting issue in the thread)

Anyway to repost what I had earlier.

Just a heads up. Sonic the Hedgehog does include achievements which is cool but it also brings up a major problem.

You can't use the level select and debug cheats. Now I don't know how important they are you, but well it's a pretty big offense to me.

Got my tax refund today so going to sign up for PSN+ before the bonus runs out tomorrw. (I wouldnt have signed up for it w/o the tax refund. I don't feel like I need service, but if I got the extra cash....)

Hey on the big scale of stupid things people spend their tax refunds on getting PS+ is pretty low. Most people I know are fucking morons that take the instant cash vs waiting a few weeks then they go out and get a giant TV or new rims on their car or some other big waste of money that blows most of their return.

Is Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue going on sale anytime soon? Or did I miss that boat.

Also, is there any way to save progress in demos? When I buy the game I'd hate to have to replay the first hour or so again.

Another stupid question. Is Playstation Plus content retroactive? I just signed up for plus but don't see some of the things from a few weeks ago. (full version of stacking, sam and max, etc)

I'm tempted for PS+ with the extra 3 months. Less than $4 a month... the cloud save is the only thing that has me seriously considering it, it's the first real SERVICE you seem to be getting with a subscription...

if i were to get another year sub to psn+ would it stack onto the end of my current sub and would i still get the 3 extra months. i thought it would but then i noticed it said 1 year +3 months as an introductory bonus offer.
my sub ends in oct, i got it right when it came out, but i would love to get 3 more months for free cuz im gonna resubscribe anyway. has anyone done this knows if they are then good for 15 extra months or is it a one time intro deal and if i resubd it would just give me an extra year?
anyone who has done this or know i would greatly appreciate a reply/answer before the deal dies tomorrow nite. Thank You cags

I'm gonna just use a best buy reward certificate for an 12 month Plus sub, hopefully I still get the 3 months extra or that will suck, but $20 off ain't bad in it of itself.

well apparently they tried to ship it after saying it was an e-mail code...good thing I cancelled it in time looks like I'll just buy it direct from the PS store so i still get the 3 months
They haven't announced any release date for it yet, let alone that it would be out before The 3rd Birthday.
Yeah, I know, it just seems like it'd be a perfect time to release it.
Tiger Woods 12...53 pieces of Day 1 DLC..new fucking record.
For real. I want to hit someone with a fucking crowbar over that kind of garbage.

That's pretty incredible. Does the $35 pack include all the other DLC or something? That's half the price of the game right there.

It has 13 of the 18 DLC courses, which is about $55 worth of content for $35. To get all of the courses would be another $20 on top of that.
Yeah, I know, it just seems like it'd be a perfect time to release it.
I've learned over the years to never assume when something will be out until it's announced on the blog.

Dear god, so if you want the full course selection, you end up paying $115 plus tax. I am sorry EA but fuck you. There is no excuse to release a game and 18 DLC courses on the same day that's just garbage.

fuckin' a. i'll buy Tiger Woods 11 used and not buy the DLC. That way I get the game and EA gets no money at all (and it will be that much cheaper than 12). I'd like to find a solid golf game to use move on, but that's fucking appalling.

Lol- it's EA, so the used copy will probably not include any courses.

I don't have a problem with day-1 DLC. Think about it this way- if you go to a car dealer to buy a car, you are going to get a base model. If you want the iPod dock, or the seat warmers that's going to cost extra.

You never hear people bitching that Volvo had finished making the seat warmers months ago and that they should be included in the base model. It's about how they value their product. If the company feels like they've provided a product worth your $60, then any extra content is bells and whistles. That way, casual fans can get enough of the game to be happy for a reasonable price, instead of everyone having to drop $105 bucks for all the content.

I'll agree that most publishers abuse this feature in execution- but in theory it's not a bad thing.

It's hard to see it from this point of view though since DLC is such a relatively new part of the industry. Game content used to be so black and white.

It's funny how years ago, capcom released SSF2 which essentially only added 4 characters and some stages to a game at full retail. We didn't really think twice about it. Today, if they were to release those 4 characters as a day-1 add on pack to SF2 for $15 or something there would be a riot.

WOOHOO! Finally we get BTTF part 2!
Downloading now.

Plus Comet Crash for free, PS plus is turning out to be a good investment.

Yeah, but using your comparison, that Ipod dock or seat warmers, would cost a few thousand dollars on a $20k car. It's ridiculous that the game comes out with DLC (over $240 total) amounting to 4 times what the game's MSRP is.

I agree that it's incredibly excessive, but does it make the retail package that they presented any less valuable?

I'm not familiar with the Tiger games- compared to last year, are there fewer courses included on the disc?

I haven't bought a Tiger game since the PS2 days but I know that in '12, there's less courses in game (16) than what they offer as DLC.

It's about the same amount of courses that they have every year. There are 16 courses in the regular edition and 21 in the CE. 11 had 17 courses on the disc and 15 as DLC.

I don't count the unlock DLC as legitimate DLC, but there are 32 of those in this year's game and there were 48 of them last year.

So I'm a new PS3 owner, and my PS3 just arrived this morning...one day after the PS+ 12 Month Sub w/ Three Bonus Months sale. How often would you say deals on PS+ show up?

Hamsterball? AVATARS?

Well slap my ass and call me Susan. What a DEAL! What a STEAL! It's like we should be charged with robbery, we're getting so much from Sony!

Anyone know if PSN codes actually expire? I've got a code for Pixeljunk Shooter that says it'll expire today or tomorrow, but I'm looking to trade it away for anything fun. Don't wanna have to rush it.
Anyone know if PSN codes actually expire? I've got a code for Pixeljunk Shooter that says it'll expire today or tomorrow, but I'm looking to trade it away for anything fun. Don't wanna have to rush it.
It depends...and yes, they usually do expire.

I know I had some LBP (psp) codes, and they worked even after expiration. Most of the codes associated with the Ps3, though, tend to expire as listed.

Your best bet, if you really want to trade it, is to redeem the code in a temporary account within your ps3. Then you can share the account, in hopes someone will share something you want.
If you're not into the whole sharing thing, then I'd still redeem it before you lose it.

Quick question bout + membership: I got the email about Red Faction: Battlegrounds if u resubscribe with in the time period so I did before the promo expired, but i did not resubscribe using the email link. So do I still get Red Faction: Battlegrounds, or did I screw my self?

I am wondering this same thing. I had no clue that you had to go through some kind of link and just resubbed, so can I still get it?

"Your voucher code for Red Faction®: Battlegrounds™ will be sent to the email address associated with this account on April 5, 2011. Subscribe to PlayStation®Plus on PlayStation®Store or from a retailer. If you purchase from a retailer, you must activate your subscription by 11:59 PM PST on March 25, 2011, to qualify for the offer."

It says that at the bottom of the email so I would assume you don't have to subscribe through the link.
