What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!
Anyone buy Neutopia?
I doubt it, but does it have trophies?
What about XMB access in game, or does it function more like a PS1 classic?
I bought a few PCE games from the JPN Store. They're just like PS1 classics - unaltered ports.

I can't speak for Neutopia, but since there was some difficulty getting them out in the first place, and the developer behind them is financially gone, I would be amazed if they bothered to change it over the JPN release at all.

Alright... That's kinda what I expected but the way it was labeled, as "Game"... or so I seem to remember, made me kinda hope otherwise.
No real benefit from buying on PS3 over playing some other way (like VC or the E word...).
They also retain the slowdown from the original PS1 releases, making them more or less worthless (particularly in CT's case.)
Heh yeah I was waiting for FFVI on PSN for a replay....then I read several days ago about it still having the PSX slowdown and just busted out my old SNES emulator instead ;) Also lets me play the fan translated version instead!

You broke my heart Frisky you told me there were Avatars and my son was so happy we could change to Arthur but they took an extra week to come :(

Has Sony said anything about what's going to happen to the stuff that was on sale this past week? I'd really like to get Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but that's obviously not happening.
You broke my heart Frisky you told me there were Avatars and my son was so happy we could change to Arthur but they took an extra week to come :(
But... The first time he said they were coming they were listed as coming the week they came. You just misunderstood and thought they were coming a week early.

The Welcome Back Program for the EU:
Now that certain PSN services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming, it seems a good time to confirm what is being offered as part of the Welcome Back programme.

- We are working on a Welcome Back offer in PlayStation Home and will share that when it is confirmed.

I would like to thank all of the developers and publishers involved in this programme for their support in making this happen. We certainly couldn’t have done it without you.

You will be able to access this content once PlayStation Store comes back online and we are doing everything we can to make that happen as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support and keep checking back on the blog for more information.

 1. For eligibility for the welcome back programme consumers must be an account holder on 20 April 2011. 3. For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games. Killzone Liberation will not offer online gameplay functionality.
 4. Access to the 30 days free PS Plus subscription is only available for those countries where PS Plus is offered. You will have access to the PS Plus content planned for May for 30 days. Access to the free games and exclusive features finishes at the end of the 30-day subscription period. Anything you buy with exclusive discounts, dynamic themes and premium avatars are yours to keep forever.
About missed releases for the PS Store:
Q: The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?
A: To date, three Tuesday publishes were missed, which included items like Under Siege and the MotorStorm Apocalypse demo. Rest assured that you won’t miss any of this great content. To catch up on the large amount of material, we’ll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored. We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs.

Q: How will PlayStation Plus members be affected by the PSN downtime? A number of games/items were slated to go live or come down on April 26th.
A: We will be picking back up with the PlayStation Plus content calendar where we left off to ensure that you won’t miss out on anything.

Infamous and Stardust HD for me. Available even after sub expires is nice. And 60 extra days of plus membership sounds great. I am happy with what they are offering.
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/19/playstation-store-expected-back-online-next-tuesday/Seems that Sony is aiming to have the PS Store up by 5/24 with additional updates on 5/27, 5/31, and 6/3 so that they're caught up with all scheduled content just in time for E3, which will bring more daily updates during that week.
Sure would love to see the Store back up tomorrow with our free games available to download. I wonder if they'll do something along the same lines as before and start making it available in certain areas first before others? I sorta have my doubts about it coming back when they say it will...haven't seen any sort of update from the PS blog about it...

I really hope it's up tomorrow. We have no right to get pissed if it's not as this date wasn't publically revealed, but the publishers will no doubt be pissed.
Infamous and Quest for Booty for me I guess as I own everything else

I am more happy I get my month of PS+ compensated
Quest for Booty is just for Europeans.
i can't wait to have weekly updates from Frisky again
yep tuesday isnt tuesday without it i hope sony will have some dlc deals this week too.
Quest for Booty is just for Europeans.
if you have a eu account you may be able to get it but we wont know for sure until tomorrow.
if you have a eu account you may be able to get it but we wont know for sure until tomorrow.
So tomorrow is when we can get the games then?
So tomorrow is when we can get the games then?
as long as something doesnt happen i believe thats the plan........i really hope something doesnt happen.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/24/playstation-network-scheduled-maintenance-today/

Sony responded to rumors about the store updating today, which they're still echoing the end of the month deadline for the store's return.
I think they should have responded earlier than this. They were probably trying to open the PS Store today but couldn't. Since the information was never coming directly from Sony, they decided to simply dispel the rumor on the day that was rumored. Sucks.

^ winner winner chicken dinner. they let those rumors fester for weeks, only to debunk them on the day it was supposed to go back up. let's not pretend they weren't aware of the rumors until this morning.

if i relied on PSN sales, I'd be fucking livid right about now.

Some concrete info on the return of the PS Store this week:
This press release just hit the wire – PlayStation Store and related services (like voucher redemption) back this week:
SONY AND SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE FULL RESTORATION OF PLAYSTATION®NETWORK SERVICES

Tokyo, May 31, 2011 – Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea by the end of this week. The company will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), VAIO and other PCs. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as the remaining services on Qriocity will be announced as they become available.

The company implemented considerable security enhancements to the network infrastructure, as well as conducted testing of the payment process and commerce functions. The first phase of PlayStation Network and Qriocity restoration began on May 15 in the Americas and Europe/PAL territories, followed by Japan and Asian countries and regions on May 28, when the company brought partial services back online. With this partial restoration users were able to access to some of the services such as online game play, account management, friend lists and chat functionality were restored. The full restoration of PlayStation Network as well as part of services to become available on Qriocity will include:

• Full functionality on PlayStation®Store
• In-game commerce
• Ability to redeem vouchers and codes
• Full functionality on Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3, PSP, VAIO and
other PCs
• Full functionality on Media Go

Customers can now purchase and download games and video content from the PlayStation®Store on PS3 or PSP. In addition, consumers will have full access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity through PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PC’s. Service restoration of Video on Demand powered by Qriocity™ and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for a variety of network-enabled Sony devices will be announced later.

“We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love,” said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation. “We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.”

The company will be offering customers a “Welcome Back” package of services and premium content to all registered PlayStation Network* and Qriocity account services. The details of this program will continue to be detailed regionally.

* Only available for those countries with access to PlayStation®Store.
We will update the PlayStation Blog when the PlayStation Store is once again open for business.

Well I was hoping it would be up by today but what's another week at this point? Looking forward to playing some Dead Nation coop with some buds that were always too cheap to buy it before...

Thanks for the update, but I hardly care about anything having to do with PSN anymore. That's how disgusted I am with this whole debacle. I'll just save my money, or better yet spend it on XBLA instead.

Also included today - Infamous 2 Demo.

edit: My bad, didn't see it in your list (too much to look at, honestly). Also, the Piano Gun for LA Noire is free for now, so I grabbed that while the gettin's good.
Possibly a stupid question - but what's a full game trial? I'm speaking specifically of Dante's Inferno in the games section.
You download the entire game and it locks you out after you've played for an hour (typically). Its a PS+ perk; non PS+ members can buy the full games outright, but not play the one-hour demos.

But when the month of free PSN Plus kicks in I'll be able to play all of Dante's Inferno for free?

No, Plus members can download the free TRIAL. You basically download the full game and get to play it for an hour before it locks you out. If you decide to buy it after, you'll get to to keep all your progress and any trophies you would have earned will unlock.

Damn, BTTF part three is already out; I haven't even played the second one yet.
Thanks for the update frisky, any idea when the customer appreciation program will start? (or has it already started?)

The welcome back program hasn't begun yet, but I read that there may be another update to the Store tomorrow, June 3 and again next week so it should be relatively soon.

From the PlayStation Blog:

You may have noticed that the content promised as part of the Welcome Back offer is not yet live. It is currently in the final stages of testing and will be available to download soon; we’ll be sure to let you know when. The next PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus update will be this Friday, June 3, and then we will roll right into some special publishes starting next week for E3 (so be sure to check back daily!).
