So....what's the catch? Are these all 1-hour game trials or something?
Do these freebies expire at the end of June? (Even for plus members?)
Are they really the full downloads to keep forever?

Its like an on demand version of gamefly.. there yours to play whenever you wish, as long as you pay for plus..

If you miss them this month, most likely you wont get to download them by becoming a playstation plus member later.. so get in on the plus membership as soon as possible and download all games every month, so you can always have access as long as you foot the bill.

Years ago I would have loved this, now I barely get to play that much, so its not something I want to pay monthly for.

Good move by Sony though to offer all these.. I wonder why they want to boost the userbase of paying subs so much.. there is probably more going on behind the scenes.

I knew that were gonna give just cause 2 free after i bought it, oh welll its one of the best games i have ever played. Excited for infamous 2 and Lbp2 is ok i guess. Not so interested in most of those titles.

join the club i got infamous 2 lol.

I was extremely close to trading my PS3 in just about a week ago. Glad I didn't. I was surprised with the announcement last night about full retail games becoming part of PS+. So surprised that I went and bought a three-month subscription today.

I can certainly see getting your money's worth out of this now.

So I had signed up for the PS+ freebie that I got a few months back, and I didn't notice that it auto-renewed. Is there a way to cancel it through they system or do I have to call someone?

Turn off automatic funding through account settings so it doesn't charge you again next time.

I don't think there's a way to get your money back though if that's what you're asking.

i dont think you can get a refund i think they made a change to the tos about refunds and the like.

Anyone heard of how exactly the PS+ change(s) work?
I assumed that it was as before, the free games would be cycled monthly, however this blog post on the EU PS Blog seems to indicate that most free games will only change every 16 weeks.

How come SCEA subscribers get 12 games and we only get 10?
It’s true, SCEA get two more games than SCEE subscribers up front.
However, most titles in SCEA Plus will stick around for 16 weeks before being refreshed – in SCEE we keep games for a maximum of 12 weeks, which means we rotate through more games in a full year – in fact we are committed to delivering over 45 games to you as part of your subscription before June 2013, and that’s before we factor in any extra minis or PS one titles that might show up. Additionally, any ‘PlayStation®Plus Presents’ games will be extra to the standard game rotation.

Yeah, don't expect 12 games of this caliber every month, which would be kind of destructive to the service if they offered six PS3 games every month. It would eventually get to the point where it would be a matter of what's left and not what's would be interesting to subscribers. I'd guess that at least Infamous 2, LBP2, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One will be mainstays for a while and the PSN games will rotate every month with occasional PS2/PS1/Minis when there's something of note to offer.

No, I didn't expect 12 games every month. Anyone who did/does is an idiot.
I just figured those 12 would be gone at the end of this month, then it'd be similar to the way it was, with a full PS3 game thrown in here and there.

I don't think they're going to have that big of a change each month. I'd guess that there will probably be about 6-8 games changing each month, though we'll have to see next month what the verdict is on that.

There's also a free Dragon Age (animated movie) Theme as well. Actually it came out last week.

My big question is how to clear enough HD space for all 12 free games. (Especially if they vanish at the end of June). I have a 150 gig PS3 and thought that would be enough....

They don't disappear from your system. They're just taken down from the PS+ section and replaced with new games to download. You can keep playing them as long as you have an active sub.

Does anyone know if save games between disc and PSN versions of a game are compatible? That would be a deal breaker for me getting rid of InFamous2 in favor of the free PS+ copy.

Depends on the game. Just Cause 2 and LBP 2 worked for me. Haven't tried out Infamous 2 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One yet.

Edit: Infamous 2 works.

If you want an easy, not quick, way to check, try out the Full Game Trial first to see if your saves work.

Edit 2: Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One doesn't work with my retail save. It recognized that I already have trophies, but not the progress I made with the disc version.

seems like it i finally dled just cause 2 and it loaded up my disk save.

They're doing a live version of the PS Blogcast at E3, so here are the releases for this week. I might have missed something, so I'll double check the podcast version when that's out.

Disgaea 4
Saints Row 3
Wheels of Destruction

PSP Games

Vita Games
Gravity Rush
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

The digital copies of disc games are compatible. It's always been confusing because the first time they did something like it was with Burnout Paradise and those saves weren't compatible. I think the only other one that doesn't work is Assassin's Creed 2 because the digital version is a GOTY style version of the game that wasn't release in the US on a disc.

How do you do this? For that matter, has Sony endorsed a certain brand? I wish they made a drive like Microsoft does for the Xbox 360.

I know the downloads don't dissapear once you get them. I'm just talking making enough space to download all of them before the option to download them vanishes at the end of June.

Just check out, it'll be in your download history to download at any time. So you could download them in July, October, or whenever as long as sub is active. Look for the shopping bag icon to be sure you own it.

Exactly. Click on the game you want, click Download on the next screen, then click Confirm on the popup warning you that it's a free game for PS+ but won't be playable if your subscription expires. Then DON'T click Download on the next screen; instead, hit circle and back out. Then you can download it at any point you want in the future (and play it as long as you are part of PS+).

Thanks to both of you. That's what I'll do. I've already d/l Infamous 2, LBP 2, Space Marine, and Saints Row.

Think the HD is full now. Still want to add the R&C game (even though I didnt like the demo much). I'll put it my download history for later.

you can buy any brand you want i think i have a seagate or a wd im not sure i havent had any issues with it so i havent taken it out in a while. the biggest size you can put in i believe is 640gb i could be wrong so check the hardware forum in the ps3 section. its easy to do the main thing is you want to back up your saves first onto a thumbdrive or ext harddrive because once you swap out youll have to reinstall and dl all your stuff.

Actually the biggest size you can put in it right now is a 1 Terabyte hard drive. It's just that most hard drives that big go up to 12.5mm and you need one that is 9.5mm to fit in the PS3.

PlayStation Network

PulzAR (PS Vita Exclusive) – Pulzar is a mind boggling, potentially Earth-shattering puzzle game that turns nearly any flat surface into an epic battle against time and a looming celestial event with the use of your AR Play cards. In mankind’s desperate last stand against certain catastrophe, it’s up to you to command a network of explosive rockets and try to blast asteroids hurtling towards Earth into a harmless meteor shower before they reach the planet. Using precision laser technology, you have only a limited time to program the guidance system using a series of reflectors, splitters, and filters that activate the nodes that will launch the rockets towards their targets.

Batman: Arkham City – Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security home for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.

Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

Babel Rising – In Babel Rising, gamers play as God, preventing humans from building the tower of Babel. Gamers can use their divine powers by hurling bolts of lightning, summoning massive earthquakes or unleashing gigantic floods upon the Babylonians.

Dirt Showdown – An expansion on the rough-riding racing action of Dirt 3′s gymkhana competition, Dirt Showdown offers three modes focused on the wilder aspects of off-road driving: Race, Showdown and Demolition!

Just Dance 3 (PS Move Compatible) – The world’s #1 dance game is back — and now, you can play it with the Playstation Move! Just Dance 3 gives a new twist to the already spontaneous and outrageous dance game. The game kick-starts the party with over 40 tracks that span all kinds of musical genres and include popular artists like “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, “California Gurls” by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg, and “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green. Also included are legendary favorites like “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” by Kiss. With a variety of all-new gameplay modes, tracks that allow up to four dancers to uniquely shine, and innovative cardio training options, Just Dance 3 was made to bring the party and keep America dancing!

The Best-Selling Games for May:
The Walking Dead made a big impression on PSN players this month, with the first episode of Telltale Games’ episode zombie series claiming the top spot in May. You’ll also notice a great resurgence in the PixelJunk series, due likely in part to May’s deep-discount PixelJunk sale that saw many PixelJunk favorites sell for a just buck.

In PS Vita news, Escape Plan’s iron grip on the throne has finally been loosened — NetherRealm Studios’ bone-crunching fighter Mortal Kombat takes the top slot this month. In PS one Classics, Legend of Dragoon’s long-awaited release reshuffled the usual crowd of top performers. Starting this month, by community request, we’re also happy to integrate a new chart examining PS2 Classics performance! In May, Max Payne stole the show just in time for Max Payne 3’s arrival on Blu-ray Disc.

Get the download on all of May’s top sellers below. Did your favorite game make the grade? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

That space marines 40000 game is kinda weak but i like all the other games we got from plus. Euro plus wasn't as lucky as us again lol. I'm guessing we get darksiders free and probably outland, which i justbought for 5 bucks next Tuesday, but this Gay Guitierrez guy that does the drop has kind of a weak blog and should be fired.
