What's something healthy for snacking on?
Speaking of Trader Joes, it's time for me to buy a couple of cases of 2 Buck Chuck Shiraz for the holidays.

Of course, the way your body metabolizes the sugars in alcohol actually makes it rather unhealthy, so that's neither here nor there.

I agree with the grapes suggestion from earlier.
The quality varies from bottle to bottle, case to case, it seems. I like the Cab. The Merlot is too sweet. I love cooking with that wine but I'll drink it too.

1. Sometimes I like to get a brick of really dry aged sharp white cheddar and some water crackers. Pick up a couple fresh jalapenos and put some thin slices on the top. I'm not a nutritionalist or anything but I always feel real good after I eat fresh hot peppers.

2. Also, if you're not opposed to soy products, Morning Star makes some excellent "buffalo wing" guys. You can get a box of them (two servings) for about $3.50 or so. They're spicy and have a good consistency. I'll dip those in a very small amount of blue cheese or spicy mustard.
