Whats the best set of headphones for ~25?

For a solid pair, the stock Sony ones (that go around your head). Their sport ones are $20 I think...they abrosb sweat easily...

I'm not sure what padded ones are but KOSS KSC-75 are known for their good sound for cheap. They are clip-ons and are going for $11.40 on Amazon.

Here is the place to go for headphone disscusion. www.head-fi.org

That's the problem with those audiophile sites/forums, they know a lot about the expensive high end stuff but almost nothing about the cheaper stuff.

I had something similar to these. Not sure if that's the model but it looked almost exactly like it and the specs are similar. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106455.

I paid $50 for them 4 years ago at Best Buy B&M... used them for about a year and then a friend borrowed them and they were destoryed by his dog. I wasn't too happy because I really like them. He bought me a replacement pair of Panasonic headphones but they sucked.

You can get a pretty decent pair of Sennheisers for $25. They're like the BMW of headphones, they make stuff for all price ranges.

Buy the KOSS KSC-75s. They are about $13 on Amazon.com, and are among the best headphones you will ever hear in your life. I own a back-up pair for when I get my MP3 player so that I can keep some at my PC for gaming and some on my person at all times. Also, you will find similar statements made by audiophiles, namely those at websites like head-fi.

You can't regret buying $13 headphones! Buy them!

About the KSC 75s, I think it's like $19 after shipping on Amazon (it's sold by a merchant through them, so no super saver). Radio Shack and Circuit City also sell them in store for $20.

I'll vouch for those Sennheiser HD201's Vinny linked to. Nothing comes close for less than $20, let alone double. Get 'em.

I already have headphones for gym use, but im looking for computer use ones, so I am looking for those cushioned ones vinny linked to.. will prob buy em.

Another vote for Sennheiser HD201.
I love my pair....one thing though, if you listen to tunes with intense bass,
EX: techno, rap.... these might not have enough kick for you.
For some reason, fans of said music like their eardrums to shake loose.

I know you said no in the ear types...

But please, believe me, your Wal-MART SHOULD HAVE THEM for the same price

I traditonally HATE in the ear designs, I own three pairs of over the ear full cushion headphones [one Koss $20, one Sony $29, one Panasonic $69] and will never accept anything less [even the cheap Koss sound better than earbuds/small cushions]

but I was on a trip the other day and I had no space for my monster head phones, so I had to buy a pair of small ones, I settled on these and my GOD my GOD I was AMAZED

I've tried a pair of FONOTOPIA's that retail for $69 at SonyStyle stores and was rather impressed [but did not think they were worth the price]

but quite possibly, the Philips are the best headphones for the price, and they beat many more expensive sets, they are NOTHING short of amazing

And the ear entry plugs are VERY SOFT, you forget you are wearing headphones, they do not feel cold, they do not get hot, and they are soft soft material, it is a pleasure to wear them

I am not selling my headphones any time soon, but I have bought two pairs just to be safe the price won't go up or they'll be discontinued, they won an award in 2005 for innovation, an award well deserved because these are quite possibly some of the best phones ever

They will change your mind about in the ear designs, the Sennheisers are all hype by the way, I can tell the difference on the higher end ones but the cheaper low end range Senns do not sound any better than some of the more "commercial" brand offerings.

Please, just try the Philips with a good source [CD or high bit rate mp3] I promise you will be satisfied.
