Whats your favorite movie ever?

well, i'm only 15 right now. wow, only 2 years, it seemed so long ago..

anyways, TomCloud9, if you liked lock stock, you will love snatch. maybe you've seen it, maybe you havn't. i just think snatch is a better movie than lock stock, mostly cause it had more comedy in it, and of course, brad pitt:

i'm just kidding, i'm a guy, so its just not right. i just look up to him, he is totally cool, and might i say..hot.
Favorite movie ever is probably Nightmare before Christmas, I love that movie so much. And close favorites are Liar Liar, Truman Show, LOTR, Office Space, School of Rock, and the first Matrix.
Omg, I love most of those movies too ^_^ Nightmare before Christmas, and The Truman Show are def. my top two (I swear, I'm so paranoid that the Truman Show might be based on my own life...heh) I have yet to see Liar Liar, Office Space, or School of Rock. LotR is too....uh...epic? -_-;; No comment on Matrix.

Digimon Movie...ah..how I love thee!

I would say that my favorite movie of all time is "Airplane!". It's just one long string of hilarious gags, jokes, puns and parody. And everyone who was a part of that movies was great, Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges and so many others. It pretty much invented the spoof/parody sub-genre, and there has not been a comedy movie that has been as consistent in it's humor and laughs as "Airplane!". Even after 20 years, the movie still is quite funny, despite some of the dated material. I would recommend this to anyone who likes comedies, and has never seen this movie.

Equilibrium.

It's an action movie with both a soul and a mind, and is as visceral as it is cerebral.

Oh, yeah...also: Best. Gunfights. Ever.

the one at the end where theyre just standing there was the best. that movie was so cool.

since there is enough talk about movies, does anyone know if the live action guyver was ever put on dvd? and if so, where i could get it.

OK.......the theme song alone gives me goosebumps

FLASH! AHHHHH AHHHHHH!!!!!

Flash Gordon from 1982. Favorite movie of all time. Chesey as hell and the acting is so over the top....But I never have so much fun watching a movie.

ONLY POST YOUR OWN FAVORITE MOVIE

mwlover, shut up and leave everyone else alone before i start a petition to ban you (and with your current activites, i WILL have a lot of signatures)

Just because I can't find it in myself to appreciate trash does not mean I'm a homosexual. Very much a straight man.

This is a hard topic to just have only one so I will list five.

Animal House
Blazing Saddles
Dead Man
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Holy Grail

This list could go on and on but I limited myself to only five. If you have not seen all of the movies I listed I suggest checking them out.

Ya know, I've thought about it a little more, and wanted to to say that the director has so much to do with what a movie becomes that it's not quite fair to not mention my favorite directors.

M Night Shyamalan: The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs
Robert Zemeckis: Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, What Lies Beneath
Stephen Spielberg: a long list, my fave is the Indiana Jones trilogy

I absolutely love M Night and will watch any movie that he directs, sight unseen. As far as actors, the man himself, Han Solo aka Harrison Ford, is absolutely my favorite actor. And as a bonus he's just so damn sexy! Yes, even for a 60-year-old. rawwwrrrr... I would in a heartbeat, my friends =P~

I agree. Night is the best young director around. Wish he'd make a sequel to Unbreakable.

It's hard to put your finger on your all time FAV, but I would have to say that Jackass: The Movie is my all time favorite video.

Return of the King, followed by Princess Mononoke, followed by the original Matrix.

Well, I may catch some flames for this, but "The Princess Bride" is definitely one of my all-time favorites.
"The Princess Bride" is awesome! My favorite line from the movie was "inconceivable", cracks me up everytime I hear that word. :?

As for my favorite movie, I'd hafta go with "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"...
I feel like an idiot saying this, but what is Princess Bride about? I've never seen it but I always hear people quoting it.

(yeah, yeah, I know, I've never seen Princess Bride. I can hear those of you who read the Gamecube forum saying "oh yeah, there's that girl who's never played Metroid or seen Star Wars!") :p

Editorial review:
Screenwriter William Goldman's novel The Princess Bride earned its own loyal audience on the strength of its narrative voice and its gently satirical, hyperbolic spin on swashbuckled adventure that seemed almost purely literary. For all its derring-do and vivid over-the-top characters, the book's joy was dictated as much by the deadpan tone of its narrator and a winking acknowledgement of the clichés being sent up. Miraculously, director Rob Reiner and Goldman himself managed to visualize this romantic fable while keeping that external voice largely intact: using a storytelling framework, avuncular Grandpa (Peter Falk) gradually seduces his skeptical grandson (Fred Savage) into the absurd, irresistible melodrama of the title story.

And what a story: a lowly stable boy, Westley (Cary Elwes), pledges his love to the beautiful Buttercup (Robin Wright), only to be abducted and reportedly killed by pirates while Buttercup is betrothed to the evil Prince Humperdinck. Even as Buttercup herself is kidnapped by a giant, a scheming criminal mastermind, and a master Spanish swordsman, a mysterious masked pirate (could it be Westley?) follows in pursuit. As they sail toward the Cliffs of Insanity...

The wild and woolly arcs of the story, the sudden twists of fate, and, above all, the cartoon-scaled characters all work because of Goldman's very funny script, Reiner's confident direction, and a terrific cast. Elwes and Wright, both sporting their best English accents, juggle romantic fervor and physical slapstick effortlessly, while supporting roles boast Mandy Patinkin (the swordsman Inigo Montoya), Wallace Shawn (the incredulous schemer Vizzini), and Christopher Guest (evil Count Rugen) with brief but funny cameos from Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, and Peter Cook.
I'm not really a movie buff, but my all time favorite is Bean: The Movie. Haha, he's just too funny. The director wandered off a bit on Bean's character, but the movie was still very good. Two thumbs!

My favorite movie of all time is Dark City. I've seen it dozens of times, and every time I watch it it amazes me anew. A perfect film, brilliantly imagined and executed.
Ya know, I've thought about it a little more, and wanted to to say that the director has so much to do with what a movie becomes that it's not quite fair to not mention my favorite directors.

I notice you don't mention the movies he directed prior to The Sixth Sense... hmm... :)

hey mwlover, since you refuse to take down that pic, i decided to check the properties. why the hell do you call other people gay when that pic is from a gay porn site that you obviously frequent. dont deny your own urges.

~mwlover

I, too, find it odd that you would so readily accuse someone of being gay, when it is you - and only you - who has produced homoerotic material. I guess it was convenient for you to do so, since you probably had that picture bookmarked already for activities that are entirely within your discretion...that I'd rather not know about.

I think someone's projecting.

I'm inclined to agree with SneakyPeguin's assessment; there's no need to deny anything. CAGs are an accepting crowd, and certainly won't hold your latent homosexual tendencies against you.

Best is a hard choice to make, but I'd give it to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"

Worst movie is Unbreakable...how could a movie with comic book reference be so lame. It broke up a friendship, till this day me and her don't talk.

bump

i forgot this movie long ago, but kill bill was my second fave movie last year. it was just soo cool. i cant wait for the boxed set of volume 1 and 2. i just gotta get the uncut international version. i MUST see the 88 gang battle in its original glory.

The Shawshank Redemption.

Even though I've seen it many times, I'll still sit there and watch it when it's on TV... even though I own it on DVD

While not my fave movie....someone just gave me a copy of The Rundown for a gift and i gotta say I liked way more than I thought I would. I'd give it "my favorite movie that I thought would suck" award.
