Whats your impression on the 'Warriors'?

Xevious

CAGiversary!
I loved the movie and I picked up this game from Target for $10. I really want to like this game but for some reason, the control scheme is not agreeing with me.

I just started it so I still have some ways to go. What did you all think about this game?

Short? I found it to be really meaty.

It is really one of the finest and most visceral brawlers of the era. As a brawler fan, I really liked it. The control scheme CAN take a smidge of getting used to though, but this is a very solid game.

I fucking loved it. I'm a huge fan of the movie, and the game totally lives up to it. The controls were a little wonky at times, but honestly, like RollingSkull said, it's one of the best beat-em-up's of the last 10 years. Play it.

There is one part early one that I am having trouble with- its in the Coney Island section. Its the second mission

You are supposed to get guy $100 to get on the subway but for some reason, the cops keep jumping me whenever I rob the jewelery store. Its a little frustrating...Any sugestions?

I never saw the movie, to me it was just an excellent game.

In reply to the spoiler,
I don't remember, but usually you can pick up crew members walking around Coney before you start a mission, and then engage it. Try to get together 4 or 5 Warrior mooks and have them cover you as you go to work. They should keep the cops busy as you run... well, like a Nigger from the cops! :p

you can always just fuck the cops up with beer bottles or somethin' or like rolling said, pick up some homeboys and let them do the dirty work for ya with the cops

Thanks for the tips guys. I will give it a shot.

As for the movie, I recommend checking it out. The game captures the tone of the movie very well. The only thing is, the game is a lot more violent than the film. The film is more atmospheric than most action films. Oh and the music is the same.
I can't wait for the MTV remake of the movie.
Are you serious? Are they really planning a remake?

The Warriors was a pretty good pick-up...I don't think I'll come back to it, but my first time through was well worth it. Lots of unlockables/extras
arcade is the best
, nice graphics & story, but the thing that ticked me off was the camera...

I haven't heard anything about it in a long while, but yeah, MTV announced it on their website. I remember seeing the article.

They also said they're replacing the Baseball Furies and the Hi Hats with Bloods and Crips.

And it's like.. hell.. if you have to replace anybody, which is dumb to begin with, don't replace the fucking Baseball Furies. What the hell.

I never felt strongly about openly boycating movies but I would definately boycat that remake. That's bullshit!

Well...I kept playing the game and now I am really enjoying it now. I guess it took awhile to get used to the controls but I'm loving the game now. I just finished the 'Writer's block' level.

i picked this up again the other day. i beat it ages ago with one of my friends, and it really was one of the best co-op games i've played. the story was surprisingly great, too.

I haven't played this in FOREVER. It's one of the FEW games over the past couple years(since joining CAG) that I actually paid FULL PRICE for and it was WORTH EVERY PENNY IMO.

I mean, just for the Double Dragon/Final Fight -esque side scrolling beat em up you can unlock, it's well worth it.

Plus, I checked out the movie just a couple weeks before this game released and when I played through the game, I was shocked at how well they captured the movie in this game. Plus, the more in depth backstories they created specifically for the game were incredible on TOP of everything else.

And, I certainly hope those of you who bought this game and played through the main game didn't just keep trying to bypass the credits, as there was a fun little 'mini game' with Luther and the Riffs. I won't spoil it for you all, but it finished up where the movie left off, with Luther screaming as the Riffs closed in on him and his gang.

its a pretty sweet game.....despite the control sceme. the fighting is fun and the running sequences are very inovative.
