What's your opinion of Ninja Gaiden?

I mean, with Ninja Gaiden 4 being released, I bought Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black as a hype marathon. Today's topic is - "What's your opinion of Ninja Gaiden?" In general. There's Ninja Gaiden Arcade, there's Ninja Gaiden NES games, and the Ninja Gaiden reboot (Which is included in the Master Collection.)

I then requested a collection release of the NES era games...

I also played all the available versions of Ninja Gaiden I could play at the moment... 2025 IS the year of the Ninja (Ninja Gaiden games and a new Shinobi game to be released)

Ninja Gaiden is a series in need of a compilation. Ninja Gaiden III NES costs about $200 USD on the open market. The other two seem more reasonably priced at sub-$20. I hear the Super Famicom remake compilation isn't as good as the original.

I'm not the biggest Ninja Gaiden fan, but I've attempted the NES games on a few occasions. I definitely noticed the cheap tactics, but the mechanics themselves were fun and responsive.

I've been meaning to build up my skill in Ninja Gaiden Black on the OG Xbox forever, since I'm a huge fan of third person actions games like Devil May Cry and Rygar: The Legendary Adventure.

The PS2 was a great place for DMC-alikes, from God of War and Rygar: The Legendary Adventure to Genji: Dawn of the Samurai and Blood Will Tell. When DMC dropped, every company wanted a piece of that success. Even Konami made two Castlevania DMC-alike's for the PS2. Man, times have changed.

I haven't tried any of the sequels in the 3D series, and I hear Ninja Gaiden Black is the best out of all of them.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure is criminally underrated. That game had no right being as good as it is. It's almost like God of War, but still remained a bit different. Insert chef's kiss here.

If you liked DMC, you'll like Ninja Gaiden. If you have the itch, go find Master Collection on your favorite gaming store. Same goes for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.

IMHO, Lament of Innocence is the closest Konami got to a "DMC-like" and was released on PS2. I have never played the Lords of Shadow games, which is sad because they were produced by MercurySteam, and Hideo Kojima of all people.
