What's your Wal-mart doing?

If anyone know what their walmart is doing for launch, coudl they post it? So far I've seen people say that they're handing out vouchers at 7AM Saturday... and I've seen other people say yoiu're not even allowed to line up until 8pm. I know YMMV, but I'm curious to see what others have heard.

I called mine, but was only told that people would be lining up in layaway... I need to call back, but have to do so later today, to talk to the manager. I'm getting sort of ancy, I want to know what to expect and know when I need to be there!

Our Walmart is not a 24 hours deal, so...YMMV.

Line up was going to be permitted basically as soon as the PS3 line cleared. That said, they weren't expecting many, if any, before tomorrow. Vouchers were to be handed out to people about an hour before they open on Sunday (7 AM, I think)..at least that's according to the electronics manager I talked to earlier this week.

i called a few wal-marts in the chicago area to see how many systems each store was getting. most stores said about 20, however one did say 60. In their ad it says that the wii goes on sale at 12:01am at your local wal-mart, when i asked about that they said that they would not be opening at midnight that its the stores managment that decides if they will have a midnight launch.

Yeah, ours is NOT doing a midnight sale...didn't do one for the PS3 either. I saw the 10 to 12 people in line outside our walmart (it was about 6:15 AM..I'm assuming they were the ones who got vouchers and the rest went home) on my way to work this AM.

stopped by 2 walmarts last night, figured it was a good time to ask since intelligent people were probably there handling the ps3 line...

both stores said that they'd handle the wii line the same way the ps3 line was handled. they'll start a line somewhere whenever the first person shows up and asks where to sit. if it's several hours away, they'll do the line outside. if nobody arrives until just a few hours before midnight, the line will be inside in the electronics department. no vouchers, no lottery, nothing fancy... shortly before midnight, again, depending on the size of the line, they'll roll a cart or two down line with games and accessories. in line order, people can grab all the stuff they want. if the line is just a few people, and it's clear that everyone will be able to get anything they want, they won't bother with accessories and let people grab them from inside after buying the system. at midnight, they'll wheel out the systems, sit them next to the register, and start dishing them out to people in line. if the line was outside, they'll use the mobile register on wheels and handle everything outside.

both stores said that it worked really well for the ps3 line... granted they only had 6 systems to go around, and only about 15 people in line... and they say they have about 30 wii systems and expect at least 50 people... but yeah... i kept reading all these crazy stories of start times and tickets... doesn't sound like anyone around me is doing that. pretty straightforward.
