when and where to buy xbox live gold?

i've seen a few places online like cdkeys sell xbox live gold 12 month as cheap as $30.99. my xbox live doesn't run out until march and i've already spent a decent amount on games this month and will prob spend more on black friday so i want to know if i should wait on getting xbox live later? i feel like i usually buy it around the same time cos it always goes on sale at certain outlets like gamestop & best buy for pretty cheap (like 35-40 range)

so yeah just want some advice i know i need to upgrade it eventually at some point just don't know when that will be but maybe i might as well go ahead.

It seems like Xbox live is always on sale somewhere for under $40 dollars per year. Even when I'm not actively looking, I frequently see year subscription discounted to around $30. If your wallet is already in pain this month, I would say you're fine waiting.
