When do you open your's?

Usually in the mall, or right outside in the car. I've had bad experiences with GBA games not in the box, and scratched discs/destroyed cases, so I open everything ASAP.

Usually in the car, but I'm gonna be a little more wary of that because my manager says he plans on putting Oni into my Shadow Hearts: Covenant before I pick it up. I know he's joking, but I think for big releases I'll open them right outside the store.

I open mine when I want to play them, right now I have a couple that I bought a few months back that I still haven't opened, but no hurry for me.

i open the game when i play it, that way if i decide that i don't want it i can return it or sell it. i also wait in case i end up finding it cheaper elsewhere.

dorky fact: i usually tape my receipt to the game after i buy it to make sure i don't lose it in case i need it.

Except for the CC game when I got too many games, I open them in the car so I can just read over the manual untill I get home. I also get alot of my games used from Game Rush since they have great deals on the used games, so I don't even need to open many games anymore.

I wait until I am in my car so that people won't think I am some kind of weirdo for openning it sooner. Only my wife thinks I am weird this way, but she's used to it by now

The minute I walk into my house, I open the game to test the game, which usually led me to playing it for a while :D

I *MUST* open mine in the car and always read through the instruction manual while I'm sitting in the parking lot.

Nothing like the smell of a freshly opened game.

Apparently stores frown upon opening it before you get to the cash register, so I usually wait till I get to the car.

In the car to make sure its the right game and thats it's in New Condition if its New or in good condition if Used.

CD~ Open in the car

DVDs~ Open when I'm going to watch 'em

Games~ Depends. If it's something I've been waiting on, I'll open it in the car & read the instructions while I drive. Other games wait until I'm gonna play them.

And as soon as the game is opened, I HAVE TO smell it first. Weird, but I also love that fresh, new game smell.

CDs get opened in the car and usually will get played right then too.
Games and DVDs don't get opened until I'm ready to play/watch them. I have about 7 games that are still sealed and I figure it makes them easier to sell/trade down the road if I never get to them.

I usually pick up games during my work lunch break. If it's something I plan on playing soon I open it either in the car or at work, otherwise I don't open it until I get around to playing it. I have a pile of 10 or more games still in the shrink wrap from as long ago as Christmas. This site creates a terrible buying addiction that is more satisfying than my game playing addiction :(

Depends what I bought, like if it's something I was really looking forward too or pre-ordered, than in the car. For something I got for cheap or will play eventually, then when I'm ready to play, hence I still have about 3 games sealed.

Haha. Sounds all too familiar.

I pop it opened when I am going to play it. I still have games sealed that I won't open until I want to give them a go through.

I usually open most everything right away when I get in the car.

There are some interesting arguments for waiting till you play, I think I might start doing that (of course that is usually when I get home, but with the great deals on this site sometimes it is later).

I open them in the car, to make sure they're in good shape in case i need to return them. CD's i want to open so i can listen to them for the ride home.

I used to open them in the car to make sure the disc wasn't damaged. When I bought Marvel Vs Capcom for Dreamcast back in the day, I opened it up and a huge chunk of the disc was missing. I took it right back and got a new copy. Ever since that day I would check every game until the big CC sale.....now I actually have a few sealed games on my shelf...

i open dvds whenever im gonna watch them.. unless it's used or something i check right away at the counter or whatever

games.. i open them in the car if used i check them in the store

cd.. right away in the car

reminds me of fast foods to check everything cause i always check my food now right when i get them.. since many incidents involve me not getting my grub =[

That's how I was, then I developed videogame OCD and now I try to keep all my games in mint condition, or sealed in case I want to trade them.

If its brand new, i don't open it till i use it. But if its pre-owned (it IS sealed sometimes) then i open it right there to make sure it is the right game, then immediately test it out once i get home...

with all the peeps reporting that their game came with an aol cd instead of a game cd, i usually open the games after i purchase them unless i'm using it for a trade.

kinda depends if it is something I bought cause it was cheap or I kinda wanted it I open when it I am bout to play it.

if something I have been waiting for I open as soon as I get in the car.
