Where can I buy DVD+R DL media?

Supposed to have been manufactured a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen any, but then again I didn't see 8X media for a while either.

I hear that DL media will cost $7-$10 a piece.
can someone explain what the shaq-fu they are talking about?
DVD+R DL is Recordable Dual Layer Media. So you can record up to 8.5 gigs instead of 4.7.

There are some at Best Buy. But it costs $30 and it comes with 8 DVD+Rs, 1 DVD+RW, and 1 DVD+R DL. Its made by verbatim. I think its called like the double layer solution pack or something like that.

Like all other media, it will come down in price over time.

But for those of you who just bought a dual layer burner, don't expect to use the DL burning capability much for a few months, unless you have money to burn (no pun intended...no, wait...I'll make that pun intended).

I heard a lot of stand alone DVD players won't read the DL technology....now, i know it will vary, but it could sway people NOt to buy them, especially if you plan on making BACK-UPS of your movies.

I saw that on the net and thought it was pretty good until I realized that it only came with 1 DL disk - what a joke. I guarantee many will be fooled into buying that thinking that all 10 disks are Dual Layer.

Um, what are you smoking? Most DVD movies nowadays are DL DVD9. Just look at some of the more popular 2+ hour DVDs of recent memory. All of them are on DL DVD9 discs.

I know this, I'm not an idiot....but NOT ALL DVD players read the media....It's what i read, I was passing it along. Don't get all high and mighty, I own enough DVD's and have enough knowledge to run circles around most.

Hmmm, the XBOX can read some CD-R media, but not others, so what makes you think that a DVD player can act different....I've had some DVD players not read DVD+RW, but it CAN read a DVD+R....so, the DVD+DL is just enough format for the player to deal with.

Some guy came in and bought thay 29.99 solution pack the other day.
He was looking for DL dvds and i showed him the pack and he saw it only came with one for 30 bucks lol.

He bought it anyways.

Just buy Copy DvD software and burn your DL dvds movies onto regular 4.7gig dvds

You may have to get rid of a few extras like commentary and bonus materials.
