U can get a disc drive on ebay.
Its probably better to just buy another one used.

Just Google PS2 replacement parts and it should bring up all sorts of sites offering replacement lenses. That's all you really need.
As for how easy/hard it is to replace one, that depends on how easily frustrated and how much time you're willing to spend on doing the replacement.
On average on the fat PS2's I could open the system, get down to the lens(required popping out the disc tray on the fats) and have the old laser off the rails in 15 minutes max.
With the slim having no disc tray to worry about now, it should just required undoing the screws from the bottom of the console, popping the top off the system and undoing a screw or two to get the laser off the rails in there. Thing is, I believe the slims laser is preset in a specific location, so maybe use a permanent marker or something to mark where it's at on the rails before taking it off them.
