where can i get cheapass component cable for gamecube???

I hear you. I ordered one generic/universal set off ebay that DID have a GC connector, but it only worked in B&W (the PS2 worked fine in color, but I already HAD one of those). So I don't particularly recommend ebay. They're $40 if you buy direct from the Big N.

So I looked for used, stalking the gamestop site until I found a local-ish store with a set in stock. The price point is great -- less than $10. However, I can't seem to find them anymore on the website...

Best place to get it from is probably the nintendo website and make sure you have the extra input on the back of your gamecube (can't remember the exact name) or you can't use the component cable at all. Also searching never hurts as this has been covered many times.

I am in the same boat as the OP, I have looked around and the only online retailer that seems to have it in stock is Lik Sang.( the other importers have them but they are at least 40, where as lik sang is 35. Nintendo's website says that they are out of stock until Jan. so if you need it now, then you'll have to pony up the extra. Just the thought of seeing Resident Evil 4 in 480p makes me want to spend the money to get them.
