Where can I sell my hd-dvd and movies ?
Cute listing you TROLL. Your XBOX broke huh???? ORLY I thought you were jumping ship. GTFO of these boards if you don't have anything productive to bring to them.
Not sure how this make me a troll. My Xbox did stop working. I really ONLY did get to watch 2 movies on my 360 before it died. I did return my 360 HD DVD player and 6 movies and put some of the other HD DVD's on eBay that I had opened or could not return. I have replaced my 360 since I have about 20 games. I decided to return the HD DVD player because of the WB switch, and get a PS3 for movies. How this make me a Troll and an unproductive member of the boards I am not sure. But good for you if you feel better trying to be the big fuck on the board.

You know which format was listed first, OP? Blu-Ray? NOPE! HD-DVD? NOPE!

Plain OLD DVD.

I've been noticing this for a while now, most movies coming out for home viewing are listed as coming out on DVD first, THEN whatever HD format the company they're released by supports or sometimes they'll just say 'and high def dvd'.

Personally, I'm getting away from buying movies I've already seen in the theaters on ANY format at this point. WHY? Price, of course. Hmmmm....let's see, spend $5-10(my price range for dvds) to re-watch a movie I already saw in the theaters with some extraneous bullshit documentaries or commentaries added to the home version or spend $30 or MORE for a version with a prettier picture and probably the same bullshit docs on it.

There's just NO WAY I'm rebuying ANY of the movies I've actually kept from my currently shrinking DVD collection, either on dvd or some nonsense 'high def' format. About the only ones I'm keeping are my copies of the Transformers(1986) movie, The Crow, Goodfellas and maybe a half dozen other movies I've liked enough to buy and KEEP on dvd.

Otherwise, I doubt I'll even be buying regular dvds anymore, unless they hold their value well for trade, in which case I may buy one or two for $3-4 each used from a local shop and just dump them when I'm done with them .

Wow, your ignorant man. Why pay $12 to watch in the theater when you can own the movie and watch it many times, and anytime you like. Extras are nice man, you can learn something which I guess is not for you.

SD-DVD is ugly once you see a HD movie you can never go back.

Plus there so many HD-dvd deals now, it's cheap the regular dvd's. LOL!

Maybe you should stick with XVIDS

I've seen Spiderman 3 on BR on an HDtv, it wasn't 'zomg mind blowing'. Sure, the picture was crisper and clearer, but it's NOT worth $30 or more PER movie for that bs imo.

I've also seen documentaries which are very informative, go into depth about the characters in the movie they're based on, but for every GOOD doc I've seen, I've seen TWENTY that were some ahole director talking about his 'artistic vision' for a friggin hour.

As far as movies go, they range in price from $6 to $8.50 depending on the theater and time of day you go to see them in around here. WHO PAYS $12 to see a movie? I know my one friend and I paid $10 a pop to see Sicko in Paramus, NJ on July 4th because they didn't seem to be releasing it around here, but NO WAY would we pay that on a regular basis.

Plus, how am I supposed to figure out which movies I wanna buy on DVD without watching them IN a theater first? I'm sorry, but I'm not about to pay even $10 for a dvd of a movie, just based on previews or videos I see on the net.

So, while you may think that HD dvds are the second coming, I don't and I also don't feel the need to buy every stupid movie I wanna see on DVD, only to be stuck with the pos once I realize it's garbage.

I've bought only 5-6 movies for more than $3-5 in the past 5 years or so and I doubt I'll be buying anymore if one of the hd formats becomes the 'standard' sometime soon. NO amount of 'entertainment' is worth $30 to me.

Your blind that's all I can say, and I have been getting hd-dvd's for $6 bucks with all the deals, and why are you posting this multiple times.

Sd-dvd's are compressed and ugly but you convince yourself they are good enough. Maybe you need to fix your tv settings!

Even renting movies are more expensive then buying them.

LOL!

To each is there own, I guess.

Who pays more than $27.95 for an American HD-DVD? Most are $19.95, combos/few Paramount films are $27.95 and the used market is bumping.

You could be like a normal person and read reviews from critics you trust or get a Blockbuster Online/Netflix account to test run movies and only purchase the movies you really enjoy/want to watch over and over again.

How do you decide which movie you want to see in theaters?

Yeah, sounds like you either need to stick with the dollar theater or Blockbuster.

For me, HDM is the way to watch movies I really enjoy in the best quality possible without having to deal with the crowd at the theater and a way to discover old classics that came before my time.

$27.95? $19.95? Maybe you didn't read my entire post, if I pay over $4-5 for a movie on dvd, I consider that outrageous, so $20 is fuckin ridiculous for the minor upgrade in picture that I've seen on a friends HDtv.

First off, I think most 'critics' are overpaid blowhards who know nothing about movies, but are paid to give their supposed 'unbiased' opinion about them.

Second, I decide which ones to see by previews and buzz, but NOT the reviews. Plus, I usually see MOST of the movies I see for the year in the summertime, when the local drive-in movie theaters show 2 movies for $6 per person. So, $3 per movie and if one sucks, I'm only out $6 total, not a bad deal imo.

We had a bunch of dollar theaters around here, but they all closed, only after they degenerated into hangouts for vagrants and couples looking for a cheap place to fool around. The upper part of the one theater smelled like urine, BO and sex. The only other cheap theater around was doing a great business or so I thought, they had second run flicks for $2 a pop for the longest time. Then, one day, they just closed.

As for me, I'm still NOT an HDtv owner and won't be till I can get a decent enough sized one for my own room at the current price of SDtvs($140-150), so just like the PS3 and any bs 'hd dvd formats', I've got a LOOOOOONG wait ahead of me.

Oh and Supernova, SEE ABOVE STATEMENT. I am NOT nor will I be an hdtv owner till they're CHEAP. So, call it blind or whatever you want to, but I just don't give a shit to pay out the ass to watch tv or movies. Never have, never will.
A+ thread. One of the best, and consequently, most accurate trolls I've seen in a very long time.
Wait....am I a troll? Damn and here I thought I hid my pointy ears well enough. I just disagree vehemently with people who have to call others 'blind' because they don't go and leave a sticky mess in their jeans over a slightly prettier picture on these new(and largely ridiculous) format discs.

If that's your thing and you've got the disposable income to blow on rebuying all your 'shitty quality' dvds that you probably raved about the picture quality of when they first came out, then so be it. But, wouldn't all that wasted money going to a better cause make ya feel just a tiny bit better inside, instead of rebuying some crap ya already own?

I have the perfect charity for you to give that unwanted money to: ME!! I'll at least spend it on different stuff than I already own.

But enough of this replying, since just like I'm 'blind' for not going 'OMG' and fainting at the sight of the 'zomg beautiful pitchers', those who would label me a troll and blind would simply continue replying forever as well.

So, I'll just bow out of this conversation and do the more ummmm 'mature' thing and just walk away.

Have fun paying $20-30 a pop for movies you already own, while I'm buying them for $3-5 a pop and buying many more for my $$$$.

Don't worry about it, I got called a Troll in this thread as well :bouncy:

I guess a Troll is us people that spend time in the northern part of PA?? :cold:

I guess so or it could be that I didn't go 'zomg I almost fainted from the eyegasm I had when I saw the beautiful high def pictures on the BR version of Spiderman 3'.

Sorry, but real life moves me, pictures on a screen rarely do, though I admit I teared up when Optimus Prime died.
