The best price I've seen for 1st party controllers is on Nintendo's website for $24.95. Does anybody have any recommendations on where to find new or quality-used 1st party controllers? How about recommendations for decent 3rd party controllers? Are the ones on ebay as bad as they look?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea where to buy new N64 controllers, but you should be able to find used ones really cheap at GameStop or GameRush. Both stores guarantee that they work, so it would really seem like a waste of money to me to go searching for a brand new controller.

Well, I think their definition of working is different than mine. The used controllers I've seen from the game chains usually have buttons that stick and joysticks that are loose. Technically they work, but using them is aggravating.

Yeah, that analog nub is usually the first thing to go on those suckers. You'd probably just be better off getting a new one.

ebay tends to have a ton of N64 controllers for under $10 but they all look like 3rd party ones. Maybe if you dig around enough you'll find one there.

This is the closest I could find but it's been opened (and looks to be in the UK):

I agree with the earlier posts. Stick with 1st party controllers new. I had some EA sports controllers that just felt weird and the stick didn't feel right. Used controllers suck, who knows who's dirty hands have been on them. The analog sticks tend to get really loose on the well used N64 controllers.

Pay the extra money. Most used ones are fuck ed up. 3rd party controllers usually suck. The extra money will save you aggravation.
