Where to go to get iPod Touch fixed other than Apple?

My iPod Touch 3rd gen is broke, I think the dock connector is bad as my USB cord won't connect to it and a replace cord won't connect to it either. Of course Apple wants like $165 for them to repair it and I don't trust myself to fix it on my own. So, is there a reliable business that I can ship it to for them to fix for around the $50 price range?

I have the same iPod with the same problem. I determined that it wasn't worth it to fix. You'd honestly be better off buying a new one. However, if you really want it fixed, try a local computer repair shop. In my experience, local shops do a good job for cheaper, and are much safer than web based shops.

Sometimes if you're lucky you can also find someone trustworthy on craigslist. I had a broken iPod years ago and did that and the person turned out to be someone that got the job done.

I would, I just haven't found any computer repair shops in my town that does work on them (I live in a smaller city).
