Wheres the annual Amazon Coinstar Promo?

Lt Dan

CAGiversary!
This time for the past 2 years, coinstar releases a promo code where if you give $40, you get a $50 GC. I still haven't seen it though.

Anyone heard anything yet?

Good point, I too am interested in finding out if it's happening this year. Nothing seems to indicate a 2009 promotion on the coinstar site ... but perhaps it will be mid to late November this year?

Damn never even knew of this. I just redeemed $62 worth of coins :(. Time to start saving up again ;)

Yea, looking more and more likely there WONT be a promo this year as it's already November 8th and STILL no promotion going on. My guess is if nothing by tomorrow, it's not happening :(

I might cry, not kidding.

But wait, isnt usually a promo code what they give us to put in the machine? I got to mail something this time?!

I just changed over 100 bucks in change on Sunday. So all you folks getting in on this promo should thank me. I knew life would do this to me. But I really don't care, I have a feeling I would have been too lazy to mail out for the 10 bucks.

Very nice, I hope I have $40+ worth of coins...it's been months since I've last used Coinstar.

---

I didn't know they accepted bills...thanks Chakan.
Fine print dictates that this promo is for coins only
Maybe so, but my coinstar machine printed a rebate form after I only used 20$ bills, and there isn't a unique code or anything on the rebate form, so I'm not worried.
Lt. Dan. This CAG vet salutes you, sir.
Thanks ^^!
If you'd like to thank me, please use my site (i put it in my sig) to buy stuff from amazon through, it would help me out a lot.

START HEADING TO BANKS AND CHANGING CASH FOR COINS FOR COINSTAR!

Im still trying to decide if I wanna do just one of these or multiple, this comes once a year and you gotta make it count!

You mail in the receipt. They then send you a card with the code for the $10 gift card on it. They say it takes 6 weeks, but I think it came a little quicker than that (but not much).

QUESTION:

I was about to hit up the coinstar again but it said the following on their rules page:

Limit 1 per name, address, or household. Void where prohibited. Not valid with any other offer. No cash substitutions. Valid on coin transactions only.

Does this mean if I use a family members name but same address it wont work?

Let's see: $40 in change + $3.56 in fees gives you $50 in amazon gift certificates. That nets you about six dollars and saves you time rolling, but I'd still be cautious about this deal unless you have your purchases lined up at a decent rate. Some ps2 games that you can get used for $12-15 are jacked up to $60 or more from the "qualified" amazon sellers.

cashing in the change for gift cards waive any fee. so 40 in change would be for a 40 gift card. in this amazon promo you got an extra 10 in addition to no fees for changing in 40.
