Where's the best place to get a good office chair?

I am in the market for a office chair or basically any chair that is comfortable that swivels 360 degrees. The ability to lean back is not necessarily required. Anyone know a good store to get one for a good price? I am talking in the $50 and under range-- so I know it will be slim pickens, but any input you all may have would be awesome (as long as it's not sarcastic)

You can't go wrong with any place you look except for Ikea. That place is fail. I recommend office max. That place is fairly good for office chairs. If you have a furniture store locally go check them out too.

I wouldn't go with Office Max, bought a couple of chairs from them and they all broke within six months. They seem to be quality, but in the end they weren't, maybe it was just my luck.

Keep an eye out for actual offices of companies going out of business. They often sell off the stuff the owners don't have room for or desire at home.

During the dot.com collapse this was a great way to score an $800 Airon for cheap. One of the great images of this era is a freshly fired employee wheeling his personal items out to his car on top of an Airon. He'd take the Airon, too, as a form of severance pay.

Yup.

I normally get mine when I see one abandoned on the side of the road. Couple minutes of scrubbing and a few shots of Fabreeze and its all good.

I found a brown leather carlin high back chair for $69.99 at Office Depot that I tried out and bought. I think it is a pretty nice one. It also has a 5 year warranty. In addition, you could also get it in black.

Staples, Office Max, Office Depot

Any of those will have most or all of their office chairs out on display for you to sit in and test out and there's usually a few decent deals on chairs every week.

You can't argue with the little things.

If you buy a chair from Office Max or Staples that costs less than $400, remember one thing: If you sit it in every day, be prepared to replace it within a year or two. None of that furniture, particularly office chairs, hold up well over time.....the cushions flatten out and the little bolts that secure them all will all pop out or crack, etc..

I buy a $120 one max...then replace it when its all worn out and falling apart. I've spent $400 on a chair that lasted me 3 years, but it wasn't worth it in the end.
