Dont get sucked into the Mhz marketing machine. It worked great for Intel for many years, but AMD builds a better, more efficient processor (well, untill C2D) than intel. Thats why AMD processors often have the mhz 'equivelent' of intel in their name, al la 3000+ would compare to a p4 running at 3000 mhz, so on and so on. Plus, if the compaq is s939 based, so you may be able to put in a dual core x2 processor.

You wont be doing much gaming with integraded graphics. HPs and Compaqs used to be pretty hard to upgrade due to propriatary parts. find out if you can add a agp or better pci-e graphics card. An extra $100 there will be tons better than integrated.

Yeah, uli is right. Integrated graphics aren't designed to be game machines, they're designed to be cheap to produce for a mass market (i.e. Compaq or HP) which is one of the many reasons why they cost less than building one from scratch. They're perfectly adequate for the average user that typically spends 99% of his time surfing the net or using MS Office, and the other 1% looking at his 3D rendered fish screensaver, but they are not designed for gaming.

MM ok so I guess that one I just posted is still worse than the other 2? Thing is how do I get away from integrated graphics if I'm buying a package from a large company?

Go to Dell. I bought an E1505 whose base model was $699. It has since dropped to $649 and you can get it with an ATI X1300 or X1400 for only a little bit of extra $$$.

To put things in perspective, I've stopped playing WoW on my SLI rig. :D This Lappy is that bad ass.

I Don't know how to use Dell...you can only order online right?

Also could someone just answer whether this package is better than the first 2 in my first post.

Those are desktops right?
You should just be able to get like a 7600gt from newegg and put it into the Compaq or whatever and be able to game fine. That's what I did since I was too lazy to built my own comp.

I just noticed that the OS on that computer is Windows media center. OP do you plan on using WIndows media center to its full advantage?

I probably won't use video things much, like media center, but of course options are nice if I want to use it suddenly. But you guys still haven't answered my question!! I need to know if that comp I posted 3 posts above this is better or worse than the 2 I first posted in my first post. The flyer is running out so ... I need to decide soon. And ya they're desktops and this newegg thing is something I'd consider if I was unhappy with the gaming abilities of the package once I had it....although I doubt I will be. Its bound to be better than this so I'm ok.

Anyone can tell me whether this one is better than the first 2 in my first post?:

You can sell the compaq extra memory to somebody. If they allow it then you can drop the Windows Media Edition ( Media LOL ) or sell the installation discs.
Afterwards get rid of the extra stuff like anything you already have.

Come on someone please answer! I got like 1 day before the deal ends so I need to know if THIS computer is better than the first 2 I posted in my first post:

Web Code: 10076610 Mfr. It's an HP! I need to know by tomorrow though, cause school keeps me so freaking busy I got 5000 labs to do and tomorrow is my somewhat day off, and the deal ends on friday.

It seems to me they're all pretty much equal. I would just go for whichever is cheaper. Which whatever little performance gain you would have in any of the systems over the other you probably wouldn't notice unless you just like to benchmark things.

Ya but there has to be one thats slightly better! lol...like one has Athlon 64 3700+, the other has Intel VIIV dual core, one has 256 MB Shared intel integrated, the other has NVIDIA Geforce integrated something.

If they're all equal I might just get the last one I said then, but I'd sooner have the best.

All I can say is, just make sure you get a PC with a PCI-E slot so you can replace the crap Intel on-board video that PCs come with for some reason.

lol I've done that about 5 times already so I want to make sure what Im buying I'll keep lol. Umm ya I just need to know if that one is better than the first 2. If they're all equal, COMPLETELY 100% EQUAL, then I'll buy it MAYBE. But if it's better I'll get it. First I need to know...I dont know if Intel VIIV dual is better than ahtlon 64 3700+ and stuff like that

So someone help!! Need to know by tomorrow afternoon.

I tried I found nothing... =/ Man I just was hoping there was someone here who could quickly tell me by looking at the specs...I see all this crazy computer talk on the forum...
