Which console do you *regret* buying?

For me, it was the Xbox. Bought it, played a few games, and then it collected dust. I sold it to an ebay christmas shopper.

Runner-up - GameCube. It only cost me $50, so I don't feel I waste my money, but I wish the games were better. Every sequel was inferior to its N64 or Super Nintendo counterpart. Zelda 64>>>Wind Waker. Mario 64>>>Sunshine. Super Metroid >>> Metroid 3D. And no Banjo-Kazooie on the cube! :whistle2:(

For me, it was the SEGA Saturn. Luckily, I only spent $30 bucks buying a preowned unit. The only Saturn game that I enjoyed was NIGHTS, every other game that I purchased was awful. Thank God I only spent $30 and not $400 at launch!

GameGear, I bought it and then 3 months later Sega pulled the plug on all their systems. Next would be PS2 If it wasn't for Square I wouldn't play this system at all. In my total collection I only have 28 games for my PS2 (8 of them are my sisters, and 11 of them I bought for under $10 but never finished) Cube is well over 70 (played and finished all of them) and Xbox is 45 (most finished). And I replay most of my Cube and Xbox games. Only games I replay on my PS2 are FFX, FFX2, Kingdom Hearts, King of Fighters MI & 00/01

I don't regret buying any of my systems and I own:
1)Sega Saturn $199 with Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2, and Virtua Cop Free
Best games: Tomb Raider, Daytona USA, and Fighter's Megamix
2) Virtual Boy $30 with Mario Tennis
Best Games: Mario Tennis and Wario World
3) 32X $40
Best Games: Virtua Fighter
4) Game Gear $50
Best Games: Ax Battler, NBA Jam TEand Monster Truck Maddness

Every system I have ever bought, I have gotten my money out of.

My game cube. Oddly enough its also one of my favorite consoles I currently own yet I still regret buying it. It just doesn't have enough games and the games that I currently own are some of my favorite games to play. Unfortunately there's only like six really good games I like to play on that systems. (Those six however are outstanding games and classics IMO.) Thats what kind of makes me like my GC.

Well, for myself I would say my Gamecube since I haven't touched it in months, apart from revisiting Soul Calibur 2 a couple times. My son loves it and uses it a lot, though, so for that reason I don't really "regret" buying it.

Technically speaking, I didn't even really "buy" it anyway. I essentially got it for 5 old PS2 games a couple Christmases ago. EB was running 2 promotions at the same time, something like Buy 2 GC games, get $50 off a GC, and the other one was something like trade in 5 games, get a GC for $50. (I don't remember the details exactly, but they were something along these lines) My buddy at EB let me combine the deals, so for the cost of 2 GC games (which we would have bought anyway), we got the games and the system, and my kids had a great Christmas.

I dont really regret buying any system. But i do regret giving my Gamecube to my brother who was supposed to give it back but now hes a whole state away. Its didnt get that much love in the year that i had had it but i had a plan. I still needed to get WW and SMS plus RE4 and the new LOZ and then a few cheapie games under 10 bucks that i figure sure they didnt get the best scores but surely they must be worth atleat 10 bucks. And i dont feel like spending 100 bucks on a new one so i have to wait for the Revolution to come out so i can play those games. Plus i probably wont get it till a year after its released.

Atari Jaguar. Alien vs Predator was a good game, everything else was awful.
I would say 32X but after rebates I only paid $4 for it so I can hardly regret that.

Mine was the Sega 32X; not because of the games so much (I really did like Knuckles Chaotix and Kolibri), but because I ended up getting a Saturn the following spring with Daytona USA and Panzer Dragoon and so the older hardware just seemed kind of pointless.

The only one I would have to say is Gamecube because of the selection of games that I like to play I have played already but I can't be to mad because I got new for like $20 bucks cash after trading in some cheap games.

I've never owned a lot of game systems, and I get rid of the old ones eventually, like the N64, etc.
I can't say i've ever regretted owning any of them. They've all had their share of fun games. Right now I only own an xbox and gamecube, I play the xbox 75% of the time, but the 'cube is still fun sometimes, no regrets there.

32X. Star Wars Arcade was the only good game on that system. I mainly bought it for After Burner and Space Harrier, which were both good, though not arcade perfect, versions, and when Sega Ages came out (and Shenmue II), it made the 32X versions pointless.

Xbox... it's exclusives just didn't have the "omg amazing" effect on me that it had on everyone else, and the other games I can play on either ps2 or PC, and I never got into Xbox Live when I could just play games online on the PC for free.

I bought a Saturn instead of a PSone and a Dreamcast instead of a PS2. Personally I loved the Sega stuff, but all my friends went the Sony route leaving me with borrow or trade. That was a big deal when I was in school I guess, not so much now.

Probably Gamecube, I bought it for Mario, Zelda, etc but they all sucked.

Mario Sunshine was ass, and Wind Waker was the biggest snore-fest ever.

Totally disappointed, Nintendo betrayed me.

Not a console, but GameGear without a doubt. I bought it 10-11 years ago thinking it would be the GameBoy killer. Total I've probably played the system for 20 hours (or 6 sets of batteries), and only bought two crappy additional games for it. I can't remember how much I paid for it, probably 150 bucks, but it was way too much. The beginning of the end for Sega hardware.

I felt bad that my parents got me a Game Gear when I was little. I got the Sonic/Baseball pack, and nothing else. I quit Sonic because it was a pain in the ass, Baseball was pretty good, but not good enough to replace my gameboy.

Gamecube has disappointed me for the last year and a half. I think the only new games I got have been RE4 and Mega Man Collection, which shouldnt even count as a new game. I got an XBox as a result, and Gamecube has become a solid secondary console.

While I don't regret buying it, but I wish I had waited for a price drop instead of paying $400 for the Sega Saturn. :)

I paid over $700 for a 3DO system

I still have it in a box somewhere.

Definitely my GBA-SP. If my hands aren't cramped after 20 minutes of playing, my eyes start to cross from staring at the tiny screen.

Maybe I should get a GBA player for the Cube.

I just kinda gave my PS2 to my girlfriend. All I ever play on it is DDR, and her DVD player crapped out. But I don't regret buying it. I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

I spent a bit of mint on an MSX2+ ($70? $90? I forgot), and I only have two games for it (Castlevania and Final Fantasy); as a collector, I'm totally happy with it. Otherwise, it became a very expensive way to play NES games.

myke.
...I regret buying a game.com, though. $20 of pure bullshit, that was.

I gotta say PSP. I tried hard to convince myself NOT to get one b/c I knew there were only a few games that remotely interested me, but I caved and got one. I was amazed at first but I haven't touched it in over a month. Blah.

Also, XBOX. Honestly, the only reason I got it is for SEGA and Lucasarts' games. Most everything else has been kinda meh for me.
28 games for my PS2 ; Cube is well over 70
70 on the Cube??? I didn't think the Cube even had that many. ;-) I've got about 5 (the rest were sold). What are you favorite Cube games?

Non-Square PS2 games you should try:
-----------------------------------------
DDR Max
Ico
Rez
Space Channel 5-1 and 5-2
La Pucelle Tactics
Disgaea
Xenosaga
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Probably N64 for me. I had some fun with it, but once I finally broke down and picked up a PSX a year or two later my N64 just collected dust from then on out.

Still I did love playing Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

the 32x...from the moment I took it out of the box and realized I had to buy an extra cable just to hook it up to my genesis, I knew something stunk. Oh well, doom was fun.

The N64. Paid $150 when it was new. Hated everything about it...the games, the controllers, the expansion pak crap. Ugh.

The GBC. For whatever reason, TRU had a horrible selection just after Christmas when I got the damn thing and could only get two games that I didn't really want. I got bored in a week or two and returned the damn thing.

I don't usually regret buying a system. I have fun with all of them. I did regret selling my old systems (Sega, SNES, N64) to purchase a PS2 when it came out. I've since rebought those systems, and have played them more than my PS2 (which sees the least playtime out of Xbox and GCN). So, I guess I regret buying my PS2.

I don't regret any of my systems. Though I will say if I ever bought a Jaguar or N-Gage, I'd probably regret it. I own just about everything else...every US Nintendo system, every US Sega system, PS1, modded Japanese PS2, 3DO, Turbo Duo, Neo Geo AES, Virtual Boy, and about 8 different handhelds. I have just NEVER found a reason to get a Jaguar, the games all look like shite. Can anyone convince me otherwise? ;)

my $10 game.com was overpriced

I bought an R-zone at an outlet store for 3 dollars (with a couple dollar games including NIGHTS) and can't bring myself to even bother opening it to see how bad it is.

Xbox for me.

Rented Halo...dissapointed.
Bought KOTOR and NG very impressed.
But didn't interest me enough so I sold it after I beat those two games.

I love the Saturn. Next to the n64 (about 70 games), my saturn collection (about 90 games) probably has the highest % of quality titles. I'm cleaning up my house at the moment, organizing all my games as well, and was amazed at how many of the saturn games I remember that I enjoyed. Off the top of my head:
dragon force, robo pit, panzer dragoon (1,2, saga), shining force 3, blazing heroes (mysterium), shining wisdom, shining the holy ark, gex (though gex should be played on 3d0 in my opinion), the horde (another 3d0 port, great game, though I haven't actually played the saturn version), fighting vipers, fighters megamix, mega man x4 (far superior to the psone version), bug, bug too, clockwork night, sonic megamix (or collection or whatever it's called), sonic R, mega man 8, albert odyssey, heir of zendor (think that's the name), virtua fighter kids, virtua fighter 1, 2, remix, virtua cop 1 and 2, battle arena toshinden, ura and remix (why did this franchise die?), nights, christmas nights (demo, but still cool), daytona usa & championship edition, and more I can't think of at the moment. I still need to buy magic knight rayearth and burning rangers though.

And I loved the n64 controller, best contoller ever.

I can't really say I regret buying any system (I was every system, so even if I don't like it, it still allows me to cross one more thing off my list). I'd say the least used is neo geo pocket. I like it, but portables make my neck hurt cause the way I have to play them (I can play gba games on my gamecube so I love that system). But I bought that months ago. The system I believe I enjoyed the least and played relatively little (since I'm looking at the games I have for it and I can't remember playing any one them any length of time) would be jaguar CD. Jaguar has some nice games, and battlemorph for the CD is supposed to be great (homebrew released years after the official demise of the system, sold very quickly at about 200-300 from publisher and fetches 3-400 on ebay), but the cd add on isn't very good overall.

Also, anyone wanna dump their tg16 and duo stuff I'll take em, I believe I'm about 7 or 8 tg16 games, 5 or 6 cd games, and 15 or so duo games away from having everything released in the u.s.
