I know, it's "never too late," but if someone never played Castlevania III until this week, I still consider it missing out. Anyway....

Despite everyone gushing over it, I've never played Yoshi's Island. Same for Majora's Mask (played Ocarina of Time for an hour or two and wasn't impressed, didn't feel the need to follow-up). None of the Phantasy Star games have come into my possession (including PSO). Never touched Kid Icarus. Robotron 2084 has eluded me to this day, as have Metroid Prime 1&2. For a more current title, Resident Evil 4.

*Edit* - others added after reading other posts

Chrono Trigger
Panzer Dragoon Saga
All of the GBA Castlevania games (although I have the double pack, no time for them yet)

Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4...even though I've owned it for nearly a year.
Halo 2
Earthbound
Both N64 zeldas, even though I own them and the GC discs.
Banjo Kazooie

So many games I played to (nearly) the end and didn't beat. FF1, Xenogears, SMB3, Zelda OoT, Metal Gear Solid, Goldeneye, Dragon Warrior II, Secret of Mana, Zelda LttP, Castlevania CotM, Minish Cap, Fire Emblem (Hector story)

Many more games I played to the midway point or more and didn't continue, FFVI, FFVII, RE1, Legend of Legaia, Castlevania II

Virtually all of the SNES classics. I've gotten some of them in rerelease form - Link to the Past and Super Mario World being the two most important - but I had a Genesis and never did get around to buying an SNES.

Also, I've never played a Final Fantasy game through. :D

I've never p[layed past the first two Castlevania games. Only RPG I've ever owned was FF7 (and never went further than probably half way thru the first disc), so I've missed out on a lot of RPGs. Then again, I'm not one for fantasy story lines, I prefer sci-fi (also the biggest reason why I don't care for MMORPGs). And I didn't play any Mega Mans past 2 until I got the Mega Man Colection for xbox....

Battletoads / Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team for the Super Nes. I can remember my friends and I beating the hell out of each other in the orignal battletoads. We probably played the hell out of the game for 6 years. But none of us had a Super NES so we were deprived of Battletoads / Double Dragon...

For those who have NOT Played Chrono Trigger, please go do that. RIGHT NOW. It's my favorite game, as well as many other people's.

Also, I really can't think of any games I missed out on. Besides the Phantasy Star games (except for online).

All of the Final Fantasies...I have all of them in one form or another but have not had a chance to play them. Actually come to think of it there are a ton of games that I have never played other than the first 10-15 minutes after I get them. When I was a kid I thought having so many games would be awesome...but not having time to play the fucking things kills the collection :(

Never played the original Half-Life. I also missed out the PS Final Fantasy games and only recently got VII, still haven't played it yet.

hmm.. well i would say a lot of Sega only games..

any saturn/dreamcast game i feel i missed out on (Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Power Stone)

i've had systems since the NES and have been lucky enough to get the "core good" titles for each system, but Yoshi's Island, and Earthbound like one member mentioned, i got most PS1 RPGs, but i think i missed the boat for Atlus, i might have liked it more when i was really into PS1 RPGs now i can't get into them (although, DDS was good) I also Missed the N64 bus too, only recently got into that (when i say that i mean i got one last year) but i'm not completely sold on the Zeldas for it, so i wouldn't say i missed anything, but i definately...

i chose Xbox over PS2 when came time to choose for this generation, and i only regret when there have been PS2 only titles say, every non KOTOR RPG. but other than that no didn't miss out..

in a non Video but very game related.. i missed out on early Magic the gathering (say maybe unlimited to alliances) because i wanted to play the star wars game instead... and i also "took a break" after invasion block and missed oddessy and most of onslaught, and i should have got on Magic Online earlier..

All of those for me, too.

Any of the "obscure" systems: the Sega CD's, the Sega Saturn's, the Atari Jaguar's, etc - any games for those I missed out on. It's like there is a memory lapse or something, because I never remember those consoles being advertised. Ever. Maybe it's because back then I was watching Nickelodeon all day and we weren't the target gamer audience, I don't know. But the fact of the matter is that these systems were, to me, obscure and almost unheard of. There were some excellent games on the Saturn that I haven't touched. Games like the Lunar series (even though they're on the PS now), the Panzar Dragoon's, the Dragon's Forces... stuff like that. Or how about NIGHTS? I did recently buy a Sega CD and I've been playing some games on there that are pretty fun...

How 'bout that Sega Master System? Up until about 5 years ago I didn't even know it existed! My friend was talking about it one day and I thought he was lying to me. Then he showed me the system he had, along with like 20 games. I fell in love with Wonder Boy in Wonder Land and a few others.

But here's the thing: games for me were exclusive to the system I was playing during that generation. While I have a GC, PS2 and Xbox, in the eras before I really only had one so I was pretty much oblivious to the other consoles of the time... so I missed out on a ton of the early SNES games, the late Genesis games, and pretty much all N64 games not named Mario 64, Goldeneye and Ocarina of Time.

Me too with Chrono Trigger...
I caught up when they released FF Chronicles but I think it would have been better if I played it on the SNES.

You need to drop everything and play RE4. It is my personal favorite game of all time and will absolutely blow you away.
Yoshi's Island and Earthbound
Took care of one of those. I found Earthbound at a pawn shop for $2 yesterday.

I didnt even know Panzer Dragoon Saga existed until I owned an xbox....God I miss my Saturn

I never got around to Final Fantasy 10, Zelda- Majora's Mask, Xenogears, Half Life or Counter Strike (if those are "classics")

Those are the only ones that come to mind that friends shunned me for never playing

Basically all the good TG and Duo stuff as well as the WD Sega CD stuff. Still need to pick up the two ORIGINAL versions of Lunar as well as an uncensored US "Rise Of the Dragon" if one can be found around.
ICO.

I bought it when it came out. Still haven't played it...

One day...
This is a little bit newer, but I have the same thing going with MGS2 Substance for the XBox. Bought it at full price (well, full price on sale, so $40) shortly after it came out.

It's still in the shrinkwrap.
