Which is the best dynasty warriors game?

I want to pick one up so my friend and I can play. Which one is the best and at what price?

I would say dynasty warriors 3 is the best, but i don't know what the price should be. $5 to $10?

I've only played 4, but my wife and I really enjoyed it. Only problem was some slowdown with both of us playing and tons of enemies on the screen.

The one with the giant crabs whose weak spots you can attack for massive damage.

I had the most fun with 2, but 3 is the best. Fantastic level design and more features added in 3 ( like multiplayer).

Um.. The one that introduced Orbs and Duels.

I actually like 5 the best. The only thing better about 3 was the difficulty, which was a lot higher than the later games. Especially when it came to the archers.

I think 5 is the best, followed by the 4th. The newer the DW, the better IMO.
