Which one of the big 3 had the best E3 presentation

I voted for Sony. They met all my criteria I needed; show a new game (that I want) and show a Move game that works/looks cool. Both things Microsoft was missing.

I was impressed by Nintendo for sure, but Zelda was underwhelming and I saw the 3DS (in person) + their new games they announced before watching the conference. So it took away some of that punch.

And whoever voted for Microsoft needs their gamer license revoked. Did you not watch the natal experience?

I went with Sony. Their presentation was good if not a little dull in spots(I think they heard of Nintendo's alleged 2 hour presentation and tried to pad theirs out). With Kevin Butler, the Portal 2 surprise and Twisted Metal at the end I feel it had a good share of entertainment and information.

Nintendo's conference was solid, but it just didn't excite me the way Sony's did(hence my choosing Sony).

Microsoft played it way too safe as far as I'm concerned. They show off a few things to try to keep their "frat boy" demo graphic happy(Gears, Halo, ESPN) and then spend an hour trying to court the "casual" demographic with Kinect. The only surprise of their show was the new 360 and that it would be shipping this week. Seriously there was no spectical to this years presentation. Last year they had the damned Beatles for crying out loud.

I'll cop to it. My vote for Nintendo was probably influenced by retro love. I played a lot of Nintendo as a child, and missed the Playstation and Playstation 2 for the most part. (I later went back and have acquired and played quite a few game for both) Nintendo brought a very strong showing of classic and much-loved titles with what appears to be extremely strong development. The new Kirby game looks like it might be one of the very best in that franchise. Donkey Kong is moving away from the terrible 3D-gameplay of Donkey Kong 64, and is bringing back the solid platforming mechanics of Donkey Kong Country.

I can appreciate that Sony fans probably had a strong response to some of what was shown at the Sony conference. I am confident that every fan of the Twisted Metal series went ballistic when they saw SweetTooth.

No question, it was Nintendo. They kept the casual bullshit to a minimum, the 3DS looks/sounds like it'll be awesome, but most importantly, they're giving us tons of awesome looking games: Kirby, DK, Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Star Fox, Epic Mickey, and Pilotwings.

Sony was a close second... the show got really boring after a while but they definitely did a good job showing how well Move works. They showed lots first and third party games. Having Gabe show up to reveal Portal 2 was a huge shocker and the Twisted Metal reveal was great. But they lost points for not showing The Last Guardian.

MS didn't have a bad show but they definitely concentrated too much on casual games. We barely saw any real games.

I say MS, cause I am a crazy fanboy. Well, seriously, that is the console I have, so it is the one I am most interested in. The 3DS looks cool, definitely want that. The rest of N was meh, cause I dont really care about mario, kirby, dk, zelda. Sony's conference was good, but not great. I don't see how the Move is any better than kinect or the wii. I wanted to see the Agent (or the Last Guardian). That is the title that might force me to get a ps3 (well, that and blu-ray). Twisted Metal is cool, i guess, but i didn't really like the first two.

You didn't really describe what u like about microsofts presentation. Just pretty much bashed the others.

so did it really do 3d well?

I liked all three presentations in one way or another, but I gave my vote to Nintendo. I've always believed games are #1 priority for a console and their showcase was incredible at showing this. And from Reggie's passion as he spoke to Myamoto's demo of Zelda, you can tell they're having fun - not just presenting information. While Microsoft's conference was like "Come and get it", Nintendo was like "Sit back and relax, because here it is".

Plus I have a weakness for seeing old school revisited:

Donkey Kong Country > Twisted Metal as far as I'm concerned.

I felt that Nintendo had the best showing by far, followed by Sony. I've been thoroughly unimpressed by Microsoft in recent years and this years E3 did nothing to change that.
Losing the content you buy under subscription upon expiration is a huge, huge detriment.
That isn't true. You don't lose any purchased content. You do lose any content that they give free to PSN+ subscribers, "full length demos" or whatever that's called, etc. Anything you've paid money for explicitly (like discounted PSN games) I believe you get to keep.

Nintendo owned this e3 with all their announcement. I think if they announce 3 or 4 of those titles along with 3DS, it would have been better than the last 3 years. Straight up Reggie and just games, games, games.
Sony was boring until Kevin Butler joined in and saved the show from going into a deep decline. Then they started to show some good games and ending with Twisted Metal was major pandas.
Looking back at MS's conference, Microsoft made me embarrased to own a 360. Absolutely an abomination with such potential with Project Natal and what it has now turned to is simply unacceptable. If they would have had some core games along with Kinect and a price, I think the reaction would have been different. I really considering going to another system after watching this. If this is what they were selling to the public and the industry, they are doomed and Kinect will collect dust or discounted sooner or later.

Surprised at the praise for Butler, that part was freaking terrible. It was such pandering, it went on far too long, and it kept building up "GAMES!" and then SHOWED NO GAMES.

You know microsofts press shouldn't be that bad. i mean the fact that they did introduce a new revised console is pretty big. but the fact that they didnt follow that with a price drop much like sony last year didn't do anything for them.

Natal was a serious joke. I wonder if people would've felt differently about MS if they didn't go that route. I felt that if they stuck with games they would've been alright.

Agreed on the Natal piece. It would have been very different. If there was even a mix of casual and hardcore games, that might made a little difference. The price, launch titles, and other factors put it dead in the water. There will be the initial hype, but MS really needs to go back to the table after this conference and regroup and figure what the heck they are doing.

Just finished watching all 3 back to back, for the first time. Nintendo wins by a slim margin, and mostly on technicalities. You people made it seem like a blowout.

Microsoft - Fail: Extremely dull, one of the worst conferences in years. They forgot that this week should be about games.

Sony - B+: For the second year in a row, Sony was all about games, showing many strong titles. The problem was that too many of the games shown were either shown at last year's E3, already released in Japan(in the case of some PSP games), or widely known about through long ago prior media releases. And of course in one case that need not be named, shown at E3 2006 and every E3 since then. Twisted Metal unveiling was top notch and looks to be a great game.

Nintendo- A-: Automatic advantage for being the only one to show new hardware(non-peripheral). A clear focus on games. Much of the software shown may not be all that great, but their shorter development cycle and their ability to keep secrets gives them the edge. You were either surprised or smiling most of the time, and that made for a great conference.

For example, negatives:
- The Zelda demo was riddled with technical problems.
- Wii Party was meh.
- Golden Sun has always been hugely overrated.
- Mario Sports games, while fun, are always horribly broken.
- Goldeneye 64 has always been unplayable garbage, and Rare even in the Nintendo days was mediocre at best. This includes Donkey Kong Country, but anything on a 2D plane these days is a sight for sore eyes.
- 3DS copies the single analog nub from PSP which is a common point of PSP criticism.

Nintendo without a doubt. I'm not going to lie I was floored. I'm nintendo fanboy through and through but I've been mostly disappointed by the wii thus far. But with some focus on some classic ips and the 3DS, I've been won back. Admittedly the graphics aren't quite what I was hoping but I'm still impressed.

My scores

Microsoft- F Showing GoW 3 or COD really doesn't do much for me since I already know what they are going to be like. Rest of the conference was fail.

Sony- B- There was good stuff being shown but nothing really new that said I want this. It also got quite boring to watch.

Nintendo A+ Now the past few years I would of gave them D's and F's but this year they really upped the ante with their press conference. Not only was it entertaining to watch unlike the other two, they announced some new and cool ideas. They knew what their core fanbase wanted, and they gave us what we wanted. No bullshit, just awesomeness. They get the A for content and the extra + for keeping me entertained.

Sony wins for me. Largely focusing on games, and good ones at that. Has a version of the Wii-mote coming out that actually looks functional, unlike the Wii, and more important will be optional. Nintendo brought a half-assed Zelda game that is clearly still early along after all this time. A bunch of party/sports/mini games. The Wii as a system to me has failed, the control just isn't there for the type of games I want to play. The 3DS was the only truly great thing about Nintendo for me, and even then I'm holding off judgment until I hear an official release date/price, and play with it for myself. Microsoft was very very poor all around. Kinect looks atrocious.

Sony = B+
Nintendo = C-
Microsoft = D-
I would have to say Nintendo thanks to their awesome 3DS line up.
Ya, I can't believe just how many games they announce thus far. Some of the games like Saints Row and DJ Hero were really unexpected. I can't wait to see how cool the games really look in 3D.

the 3ds line up is fantastic no doubt. but the graphics on it seems a bit crappy. seems like the new psp could throw out a device that can do 360 graphics in a year or two, like the psp doing ps2 graphics.

Sony's content was king, Nintendo's presentation of the content they have was the best. I like content better than a slick presentation though.
