which systems do you own or bought when they were alive that failed?

I have a large list. but here are the ones when they were still selling and alive:
3do, saturn, lynx, gamegear, jaguar, dreamcast, cdi.

Dreamcast, got it two months before they announced they're getting out of the console business. Needless to say, I was pissed at Sega of Japan(they're the ones that announced it) for pulling the plug.

I pretty much bought every system while it was alive that failed. Exceptions being the cdi, just didnt understand how it was a video game system really. And the neo*geo cd system.

32X I got on the way out, for $10 after some rebates=-) Still was not worth it though.

I got the Dreamcast about a month before it died (as a whole, my system itself still works). Yeah, that was a great investment.

As a side note, EB had a deal where if you trade in a system (it might have been current gen. systems only, I don't remember) and many games (something like 10 or 15), you got an Atari Jaguar for either free or a very low sum of money. My dad and I, fooled by the OMG GRAFX and demos of Alien vs. Predator, almost traded in our SNES and every game we owned. And we had some real gems. That was the most threatening gaming bullet I've dodged.

3do, sega 32x, sega cd, turbo grafx 16, sega nomad, tiger game.com, sega dreamcast, nintendo virtual boy, atari jaguar, atari lynx... might be more, too bad I don't own any of these anymore except for the Dreamcast.

Sega CD. Saturn. Dreamcast.

Notice the running theme there? Yeah, I was a slow learner. Dreamcast probably is still my favorite console to this day, though.

Saturn, $400 used system near launch, but I had to sell my Genesis and a ton of games for it 'cause I was too young to really think about a job and money then. Later, the Dreamcast.

I don't think of it as failing, just ending before their prime. ;) Especially the Dreamcast.

Game Gear, Sega CD, 32X, Dreamcast, Saturn, Nomad, Lynx, nintendo virtual boy I don't want to think about any more. I have to try every system at least once.

Im not seeing how the Nomad is a failed system, considering its basically a portable Genesis. Game Gear had a good run as well.

The Lynx I bought new from EB for $125. It was the second edition of the Lynx, and I believe I have 3 games for it. Now here is the worst offender:

Sega CD, Ver1. Parents bough for me and my bro (birthdays and christmas gift) for $300 bones, and we bought one game for it, and it wasn't even good (Wonderdog). Sega CD was terrible. I did play Lunar, beat it, and returned it to Babbages back when they would take anything back.

The nomad was as big as a brick and its battery life was only about half an hour if I remember correctly. It was still a great little portable.

Dreamcast is really the only one, I think. I bought it a month or two before it dropped to $150. Even though it failed, I gotta say that was just about the best $200 I've ever spent. It was sad see it fail, especially when Sega really did so much right with it.

Just thinking about playing Soul Calibur the first time make me happy that I bought it near launch.

I am not sure if you could count Commodore Amiga & Atari ST to it. It were defenitly systems which commercialy flopped, but where good systems.
Both systems were ahead of their times and better then their competition but failed in the end.
