Which version of Halo 3 do you plan to buy?

I was going to go with the standard until just now, reading about that hd calibration tool. I guess I'll spring the extra 10 bucks for that.

Well I did reserve the legendary version for $99 until they jacked it up to $130. Hate to say it but I'm gonna keep the legendary version wrapped for collection purposes, but going to buy a regular version to play.

lol really? the 'hd calibration tool' is going to tip you up an extra $10? hahah.. wait 'till you see it. If you want that 'limited edition' by all means get it, but please don't let THAT be your reason hahaha. #-o

I'm buyin the regular. I am a big halo fan, but I never watch the bonus dvd in those LE/SE versions. I did hear that the halo 2 dvd was good tho, so who knows maybe I'll change my mind down the line.

Unless there is going to be a big gamestop trade-a-thon its going to be a bad day for my wallet on September 25. Legendary and Collecors, $200 :( . Even more if there is a Halo 3 edition 360 elite ( or master cheif edition if it were)

Before reading this thread, I had the LE on pre-order at my local GameStop. I will now be downsizing to the CE. I mean it would be really nice to have that extra disc with all enhanced cutscenes, but I could care less about the helmet... and $130 is a shitload for a single game.

I'm in on the $100 Legendary on Circuit City's behalf.

Still unclear if it will go through. Never got a cancellation notice or anything.

Same and I've rechecked the cost twice to make sure it's still at $100 via easy URL tricks. Will be left unopened if it actually ends up going through.

Also have one going through Amazon for the Collectors Edition, which will be the one I end up actually using to play.

Imo the hd calibration tool sounds pretty cool if it actually works..who are you to say that it is a waste..details havnt even been released about it yet

I went with standard edition. I would have went with the CE if it included the hidef cutscenes from halo 1-3, but that only seems to be present in the extremely expensive legendary edition.

The Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition was $55, not $60. It would be an extra $5. Also, that obviously wasn't the only thing included in the LE, so I don't see why you're complaining.

After awhile EB/GS will have the Collectors and Regular at the same Price used....not that anybody is waiting that long :) As for legendary, I could paint a regular size old motorcycle helmet Green and shine it up if someone wants to pay me $50.

You'd do better to get Digital Video Essentials HD instead. Especially with the GCO discount.

EDIT: hehe I see Ruined already beat me to it. Anyway it's a good deal.

I'm going with the standard, not because I'm a cheapass, but because the collector's edition of the second one stands out like a fucking sore thumb in my xbox collection. Normally people don't care, but I'm the kind of guy who won't buy greatest hits b/c they stand out.
