White or Black DS Lite

I want to pick up a DS lite. But I'm torn on the color. I am leaning towards the black but I heard it looks nasty after a while because of fingerprint stains. Just wondering what everyone thought.

I'd get white, I've got both colors and I rarely use the black one because the it look worse with all the finger prints. The one draw back to the white is the shoulder buttons get a little discolored from use.
 
White = no smudges, something whiter than your pale pale skin

Black = sexier, complements your pale pale skin

I would say white because smudges are total eyesores.
 
I used to be all about white, but I was more or less forced into a black one and now I like the black one better. I think it's because of the contrast it provides for the screen...like I can see the screen better because of it.

I don't sit there staring at the back of my DS so the finger smudges don't bother me. It doesn't smudge as bad as the PSP, thankfully.
 
Can't say my PSP smudges, though the way it's designed, it's impossible for the screen to not pick up fingerprints on the edges (I want a folding design with the screen on top to prevent that!)

I don't really notice smudges on my white DS Lite. Occasionally on the back I guess. I love it looks.

I got the white because that is all they had at launch. I usually get black consoles but I have to say I really dig the white. I do like how you don't see the fingerprints like you do on the PSP. I think the white looks pretty slick.
 
If fingerprints bother you at all, go with white. The smudges can be almost OCD-inducing on the black. I wish NOA would come out with a flat finish DS Lite...I'd snap one up in a heartbeat.

Mine doesn't have any though-except at the edges of the screen (which is one thing I'd like fixed in a redesign). The DS bottom screen dosen't pick up prints since there's more distance between the pad/buttons and the screen, and they kind of curved up to the screen, which also helps protect it.

Anyway point is it's not the black on my PSP that's picking up smudges.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's wrong with a regular finish.
 
I used to like the white one.
Now, I would rather have a black one, but I think even pink is better than white anymore.
Personally I have a blue DS phatty and am waiting for the 3rd ds model to come out.

I don't think such a thing has been announced, but I would bet it won't be for a couple years at least, seeing as how the Lite is still selling like hotcakes.

how does it look when you clean it? In other words, are the fingerprints so severe that you cant really get rid of them? Or, like a screen, it just needs a cleaning once in a while and it looks just fine when u clean it?

I'm right there about the fingerprints. The black looks so sleek that I found myself wiping off the smudges every time a level loaded or I put it down (which says more about me than the DS in black, really). To calm my obsessiveness, I got a black silicon case at play-asia: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-b6-49-en-15-silicon%2Bblack-70-1pxl-43-hl.html (currently OOS, unfortunately)

This obviously fixed the fingerprint problem. Granted, I have a bit of a fetish for putting silicon skins/cases on my devices (iPod, Axim) so take that into consideration. It does look pretty cool, though. The case is slim and not at all obtrusive while serving as a non-skid surface in my sweaty hands. It also lends that flat finish that MidnightRain mentioned.
 
The ice blue one does look really cool, that's what I was going to get had they launched with the same 3 colors here as they did in Japan. But the white looks really slick so I'm fine with it.
