Whites for Obama: How do you talk sense into the racist voters?
It's not that I don't like McCain. It's just that the elitist thing is a stupid knock. Don't we want leaders that attended the Naval Academy or Harvard? Wouldn't you consider those two institutions elite?
To me, elite doesn't mean they are better than most. It means they think they are.
Also lost: Table, chair, accountability.
The Hilton charged him in full for that table and chair.

Accountability? According to Rolling Stone, he never had it.
All right, heavy hitter. Your elitist thing against Obama is obvious but didn't McCain attend the Naval Academy and isn't he the son of two Admirals? Isn't that considered elite in most circles?
Graduating in the bottom five of his class balances out his class-based elitism, putting him precisely in the middle of the road.

myke... somewhat defending mccain? hell must have frozen over.

dont forget he also has a prenup with cindy ;)
To me, elite doesn't mean they are better than most. It means they think they are.
Well that just sounds weird, like they can be better, but only as long as they don't think they are :p.

I think that an elitist (or an asshole, I guess, it's interchangeable) would be someone who thinks they're just better. Not that they're a better plumber, engineer, architect, or president, which I think would be fine - you can think you're a better plumber if you are a better plumber, but that doesn't make you worth more as a person, or something like that. You can be elite and not an elitist.

I think that's kinda what you were talking about too, thrust.

Actually I think Republicans love the word elite because it works two ways.

There's the 'elitist' snob connotation, and then there's also the 'elite' vs everyman connotation.

It's actually a rather elegant manipulative technique, very Rovian.
I'm not sure that pointing out his intellectual failures is akin to me defending him.
its as close as youll get

Yeah I can see that in the way they use it.

"Not only is he nothing like you, but he thinks he's better than you too"

Also its the '08 way of saying uppity.
I'm surprised no one from the MSM or McCain's campaign has called Obama "$$$$er" yet publicly. It's bound to happen. You know they're all thinking it.
I thought it was going to happen tonight. "That one over there" was damn close!
For every dead person that votes for Obama a living black person will be turned away from the polls because they're supposedly convicted felons. Please stop acting like both parties aren't actively trying to steal this election.
Uh, no. The felons are working to get out the Obama vote. They're working for groups like ACORN.
Uh, no. The felons are working to get out the Obama vote. They're working for groups like ACORN.
So you believe only Dems play dirty political tricks at the polling booths and Republicans are pure as the driven snow?

What about the several thousand black people that were turned away from polls in Florida because they were told that they were convicted felons? That happened in 2000 and it was Katherine Harris and the Republicans that were behind it.
So you believe only Dems play dirty political tricks at the polling booths and Republicans are pure as the driven snow?
Yes, God, thank you for getting it.

The Republicans have never done anything wrong. They're the victims trying to save America.

Good. Felons deserve to be enfranchised anyway.

What about the republican groups that tell college students they will lose their Financial aid if they register to vote at the college they attend.

Have there been instances of electoral misconduct by Repub operatives? I'm sure there have been. And you all can throw out as many "what about"s as you want to, but if you say that the Democrat Party isn't the dominant party of organized voter fraud, you're either lying or ill-informed (EDIT - or too young to know any bettter).

^ See the race-based motives of felon disenfranchisement laws for the counterbalance to your anecdotal evidence.

Just because it was done legally doesn't suddenly make it a democratically sound notion.

Or maybe he's Osama bin Laden pretending to be Dave Chappelle pretending to be a white guy. I think Osama appreciates rhyming.

Or maybe it's Weird Al Yankovic pretending to be UBL pretending to be Dave pretending to be a white that's pretending to be Barack.

So now everyone is talking about Obama's middle name. He really should've changed it before he got into politics but then he would've had to answer five million questions about what he's hiding.
Hussein is an incredibly common name in some areas of the world. Like the western Smith practically.
I know this but many people act like he's Saddam Hussein's long lost cousin. It really is long pent up racism that's bubbling up right now. White America's starting to get frustrated that Socialist Terrorist (aka black people) are going to take over the country and lead it to ruin. My wife (a white woman) has a good point. She really hopes that Obama wins but she's scared of what might happen to Obama. Both of us don't think that Obama will survive four years. Someone will try to take him out because in their eyes, they'll be fighting for America.

Obama is only half black so any white who didn't vote for him would either be half racist, or also racist against whites as well. Unless there's enough half and halves to make them there own race. Now I'm white male but I love me some Jessica Alba but I wouldn't vote for a self-infatuated prick like Obama, therefore I must be sexist against men.

Just pointing out the stupidity of this board with a little stupidity of my own. These boards are nothing but orgies for stupid brainwashed kids who think they have it all figured out. And there best argument for not voting for McCain is that your a stupid redneck and your poor or some nonsense like that. I hope Obama can live up to your expectations because right now they must be in the heavens if anyone believed in religion around here.

Then why is the Republican Party emaphasizing Hussein?

EDIT -- You do make a good point in that all Republicans aren't racist and some (including me) have gone a little far. Our best arguments against McCain is the war. We don't want to lose more troops in Iraq while Osama Bin Laden runs buckwild in Waziristan.

I believe that every single McCain supporter is dumber than a box of hair, and I for one love having my prejudices confirmed with every single slimy one that crawls out from their dank holes.
