Who else can't wait for Doom 3

Well, XBN and GMR are out of buisness.... Sux for them, specially XBN because they rocked. Well, anyways, XBN gave Doom 3 a 10/10.... woah, last issue, and they go out with a bang. Hope its pretty damn good, because, CGW gave it a 5/5 as well, cept that was for comp. Hope everybody else can't wait.

Not to mention that if you guys out there aren't willing to dish out an extra 10 bucks for the special edition with an amazing game like this, such as when all u fags didn't spend 5 extra bucks for halo 2 special edition, thatz just plain sad. It's gonna be awsome... can't wait

It looks to be amazing but looks and is are two different things entirely. When I have played it then I'll tell you but right now I can't really wait for it.
Yeah, I'll be picking up the LE for sure. It's actually going to be a good LE unlike some of the crappier ones out now.
agreed...
Doom and Doom2 co-op or deathmatch on the same TV with an XBox is worth so much more than $10.
and agreed! :)

I'm just waiting for free overnight shipping deal from EBgames or Gamestop and I'm ordering. I'm going on vacation the 12th, so I kinda need it asap.

My comp sucks (but it can play media files, and browse the web, which is all I need as a console gamer), so I personally can't wait for this game.
Not in the least. I've been playing it for 6 months on my PC, and I don't need 2 versions.
I built a whole new computer specifically to play Doom3 (6800 ultra baby), and I still need two versions.

Anyone know if you can change your flashlight template like you could in the computer version on the XBOX version?
such as when all u fags didn't spend 5 extra bucks for halo 2 special edition
The difference is that for $10 more here you get two complete games (Doom 1 & 2). The Halo 2 bonus disc was just some behind the scenes and making of documentary junk that many people don't care about. Of course, you could always just put that $10 down on a used copy of Doom: Collector's Edition for PC and get the original versions plus Final Doom.
Im looking forward to it... though... Im not as excited as I once was.
The lukewarm reception received by the PC version dampened my anticipation for the Xbox port a bit too. I'm sure the Xbox port will be good, but I had hoped it would be great.
I loved the PC version, probably my favorite game of the year.
My PC sucks so i haven't played it yet. But Doom 2 remains my fav game of all-time on any platform, so i'm very eager to play Doom 3 and will pick it up on Xbox when it (finally) comes out.

P.S. i love your Cacodemon avatar. cool stuff man.

Doom 3 is awesome for the first few hours, but it can get stale if you aren't nostalgic since it is basically like playing Doom 2 :)

I love Doom 3, but there were a lot of people that were expecting something like HL 2 it seems.

I have never played Doom 1 and 2. I don't have Xbox Live. If I get the CE do you think it would be worth the extra $10? After playing Doom 3 could a person still enjoy Doom 1 and 2?

DEFINITELY. Doom 1 and 2 are two of the greatest games ever made.

if you have a gamerush (blockbuster) near you, preorder the CE using the "trade 3, get any preorder for $29.99" deal and you'll get it for the same price as the regular version :p

Don't forget the shiny box, cant forget about the shiny box.

Since I've already got it on PC, not terribly. Though the co-op mode on the XBox... Man. That makes me lustful. Not to mention the collector's edition with Doom 1 and 2. I wish Doom 3 PC had a collector's edition like that. I would've bought it in a heartbeat. :(

Too bad. You're gonna miss out on the better version. Online cooperative mode and playing it on a TV screen is gonna put it on top.

I wouldn't say that's true. I have it on PC, and plan on getting it on XBox - But if I had to pick one version it would be PC for sure. The graphics are just so damn sweet.

how is playing on a TV screenw ith a shitty controller better than my 19 inch flat screen monitor and mouse and keyboard?

Can't easily play using a mouse and keyboard while curled up in bed or on the couch...

Yea for an extra 10$ you get Doom 1 and Doom 2 Ultimate on your XBOX. That alone is worth like 20$ extra IMO (I'm hoping to go out and buy Doom 2 for PSOne someday). Not only that, they've both got online multiplayer which is ****ing sweet as hell if you ask me. Seriously if you don't shell out an extra 10$ for the collectors edition you're either low on cash or just stupid.

As I type this, and move my mouse to "Submit", I am sitting on my couch. My coffee table is also my computer table, and right in front of me is my TV with all systems,a nd my PC monitor.

I absolutely cannot wait! The original Doom is probably my favorite game of all time. My first exposure to it was back in 1995 when I got it for the Sega 32X, and I was instantly hooked. I had seen it before on the PC, but the kicker for me was the ability to play it on a console with console controls. My heart and hand-eye coordination always sides with consoles over the PC, even though I have respect for PC games and gamers. I buy every single version of Doom I can get my hands on. I totally support id software.

ehhh... I have a laptop that runs Doom 3 and HL2 smoothly on the highest settings. I love HL2 to death. Doom 3 looks pretty, but I haven't been able to get into it. I keep trying, but it's a no go for me. But I do love the original games. They are awesome. But I couldn't buy this game for $60 just for Doom 1 & 2 XBL play...

60 bucks? Ouch. Oh well, I can't help it, I"m probably going to be apt to join all of those who are a little disappointed with some of the game, but I am a true fan of all of the Doom games. I guess the original was just that good.

Yeah, but how much work did that take you to move all of that around just to try to prove me wrong, eh?

Well, I don't know about you, but the TV I play my Xbox on is much bigger than 19 inches. The controller thing is a matter of opinion that mostly differs from what type of gamer the person is. So, the TV thing appeals to certain people (ones with bigger TV's than computer monitors), and the controller thing is a matter of opinion. So, that rules out those two factors. Now, what else is there? Oh yes, you have the online co-op mode. Something that's only going to be enjoyed by the Xbox crowd. Then you have the addition of Doom and Doom 2 if you pay just $10 extra and get the LE. Now, scramble up some bullshit to reply which I'm sure you'll do.

First, DOOM 1, 2, and FINAL DOOM have been available in a package deal at Wal-Mart for 10 dollars for 2 years, or maybe more. So that 10 dollars extra is a waste unless you are a completist, or someone like Rockhero, where the DOOM games are some of his favorite games (which is understandable since I have every version of MGS2:Substance as it is one of my favorites).

Secondly, the PC game will have had its expansion released by the time the Xbox game comes out. Also the PC version has been out for 9 months and while I have not checked, I am pretty sure someone by now has released a co-op mode for the game.

and I know personally I prefer FPS on the PC due to the kb/m and being able to watch TV while playing games.

I will let Sneaky pick up the rest of the slack

Having played it on the PC, I can honestly say that I'm not looking forward to Doom 3 at all. I already own Doom 1 and 2 for the PC, and Doom 3 couldn't hold my interest for more than two hours. Trust me, online co-op isn't going to help it.

Waiting for the Xbox version. That way, it'll save me some trouble of finding out if I have a good enough computer or not.

copy/pasted from ebgames.com website:

Exclusive Collector’s Edition includes:
•Full versions of the original ULTIMATE DOOM and DOOM II. With single player or deathmatch and co-op in 2-4 player split-screen modes.
•G4: VIDEO GAME TV “Icons” feature: “Behind the scenes of DOOM 3”
•Interviews with the id Software team
•Concept art: storyboard and sketch gallery

wow, does that mean i can play co-op mode with 4 players? or is it just talking about the deathmatch....?

How about this one douche, the ability to play Doom 1 and 2, in all of the glory of the Doom 3 engine? fully updated to take advantage of all the kick-assedness of Doom 3. Add in that both are FREE, and I think that beats out paying 10 bucks for the orignals.
Doom 1 and 2 aren't in the Doom 3 engine on this set are they? I thought they were just included as they always were.
I think he means somone made a mod for the original games using the DOOM 3 engine

Well I don't think the Halo 2 CE was all that. wasn't worth the xtra $5 IMO.

The DOOM 3 CE is goin toi kick ass: your gettin doom 1 & 2 for an extra $10.

DOOM 3 & HALF LIFE 2 is goin to be the last 2 games i get for my xbox.

WAT a way to end this gen, with a BANG! :D
