I picked up this game 2 days ago... got it for $30 with the trade 2 games in at GR...

I wasn't expecting it to look as good as the the console version... but this games is just bad IMO...

I hated the load time..... after a 1 or 2 min battle then I would have to load agian... and the game should of took more advantage of the whole widescreen.. instead it just looked cramped...

I couldn't tell who i was suppose to attack, until I start swinging...

I'll be trading this in tomo for sure...

anybody else feels the same?

I think most of the reviewers agree with you

And to think I was about 3 seconds away from getting it. The guy at Gamespot convinced me otherwise....he suggested Untold Legends....which I am enjoying.

Good Choice... untold legends is way better than this game...

I don't want anybody to making the same mistake I did...

I really enjoyed DW. I don't know what load times you're talking about between battles, there is only one long load time and that's at the beginning of a new map. The load times between actual fighting areas is maybe two seconds.

It sounds like you just haven't taken the time to learn how to play. I suggest going into the options and turning enemy life bars on. This will let you easily distinguish between friend and foe (enemies will be the only ones with life gauges over their head). Then, when you are actually fighting, press Select to change the map of the entire battle into a local mini-map. This will show you where everyone is in the area you are currently fighting (shows your soldiers, enemy soldiers, and points out both minor and major officers).

It's a little different from the console version, but still fun. I like the new bodyguard system (which replaces the item system from other DW games) as well as the leveling up. The only complaint I have against it is the character unlocking system. You can unlock all the extra characters by going through the Musou mode with seven guys. Lowers the replay value a bit.

If you have never played a DW game before, however, this is not a good one to start off with.

I played A little more before I went to gamerush today 2 trade in.

I mean it's not the worst game in the world, I could see myself playing this somewhere on a bus or train for a few quick battles.

I got $33 back for this game (with trade 3 games get $5 bonus credit) and only spenting $30 on it...
I say rent this game before you invest in it...

i liked dynasty warriors 3, and im thinking on getting a newer one, but were talking about the original here right

This reminds of of when DW came out for the PS2. I remember my friend buying it simply because the graphics were so good. he took it home and pretty much forced himself to love the game. This was shortly after I'd bought my Dreamcast (I think) so I had already experienced a deluge of wonderful titles. Picked the game up and saw it for the shallow piece of crap it was. (No offense to anyone... but that game was just NOT my cup of tea at all)

I am so, so, so surprised that that series has been so successful.

hes talking about dynasty warriors on the ps2. Also why do you follow reviews on everything? try something and determine for yourself if its good.

for instance i dont like or enjoy strategy rpgs, but i dont have anything bad to say for em.

i havent played the game, i felt that your remarks about another review being baised called the need for an unbaised one, if just to make a point

and by the way check what sub-forum your in before you tell me what platform the game is for

Lately I find myself comparing the DW games to the movie Napoleon Dynamite. It's something I really enjoy, but I can't recommend to others because I recognize that it's appeal can be limited.

Actual I think Napoleon Dynamite was a big hit when it was released on DVD, it bombed at the movies... I saw the previews at the theater, & thought it was stupid, but I was willing to rent this 1, but i wishes I did see this at the theater....

Cause that movie was GREAT...

I would compare DW to a Horror movie instead, like freddy vs. Jason.. either you love it or hate it...

I also like to add: I'm a Huge fan of DW series, the series will appeal to some of the user base, but I just feel DW for PSP is a step down... thats all...

I'll pick up this game 1 day for $5- $10 in the bargain bin.... just to collect...

there is a DW game coming to the Nintendo DS, so i'll checking that out...

My point was that ND has a very distinct style, and some people absolutely hate it. DW is the same way. Some people will see it as too repetitive or not be able to handle all the Chinese names.

Anyways, I don't see how you can be a fan of the DW games and dislike this one so much. It's essentially DW 4 with the battles cut into chunks. The basic gameplay is the same. The graphics are damn impressive for all the objects that are displayed, and they are very close to what was shown on the PS2.

DW on DS may or may not materialize. It's due out next week supposedly, but no one has any screenshots or videos of it yet.

DW on the GBA looks to be a surer thing.

I like it. lol, pure stress reliever in beating the crap out of soldiers to relax. I like it better than untold legends
