Who here smokes?

I don't. I am basically straightedge, but I wouldn't call myself it anymore, because I have some non drug related unhealthy habits of my own (Overeating is the main one). Never smoked, never did any drugs except for my own prescribed meds (Antidepressants), I don't drink, unless I am sick, then it is just cough syrup.

Anyone one want to share there stories?

That's : share THEIR stories....

and no, I don't want to share. I prefer to be known by my anonymous asshole persona, not my vices and foibles. And drinking is not a vice, it's a requirement.

Wait until you feel like The Nothing has reached inside your soul and dissolved it slowly, leaving you numb to everything around you. Then, see how fast your hand goes for one of the few legal things that can ease your nerves. Death looks peaceful.

What the hell is catacasca talking about? Personally, I have never gotten the appeal of cigarettes. I like the flavor of hookah tobacco and cigars, but I rarely use them. I love me my booze though.
yeah, put down the ice cream you fat shaq-fuer and use the search feature!
Wow dude calm yourself down

Why bother to start a topic about smoking since you dont smoke?

I could see if you started a "who here over eats" thread...which BIG NICK would reply to asap...but a "who here smokes"?

You dont even make an opinion about smokers.

Well...I guess you were bored.

I dont smoke cigarettes but about 2-3 times a year I enjoy an expensive cigar. I used to smoke the chiba but not anymore.

I quit smoking in January. I did it for 7 1/2 years. Nasty ass habit.

Gave up drinking as much as I used to too.

Now, sex with an unfamiliar woman? Ain't no way in hell I'm giving that one up.
Why would you waste your money on something that kills you
Exactly. Smoking is just stupid. I understand why people can't quit but I will never understand why people start in the first place...

I am not sure if anybody here has seen it but on the Penn and Teller show about drugs it was talkin how there are like 7 people in the US that are allowed to smoke the Ganja and they can do it anywhere. The gov sends them a tin full of joints a month and they had a scene where he puffed infront of the capital, good stuff

Started smoking, quit smoking, currently smoking again. not a habit I would recommend. Spending money on Cigs, means less money for games.

the cigs are just too expensive and I don't like my clothes stinking either

But give me a Guiness and a nice chunk of green anyday

I'm clean.......except for the overeating part.....but that's what DDR is for! Haha. I see no point in drugs, alcohol, or cigs, although I have tried them all once to see what the hype was about. My boyfriend and I are happy and we have each other and our games and whatnot....we prefer to spend out money on games (and food!) rather than any of the above. I don't agree with them, but I never stop anyone from doing them......until I have kids one day, that'll be a whole other story!

There is no point what so ever of smoking or taking drugs. Hey smoke a few cigars now and then but smoking cigarettes? wtf, your better off just going downtown and paying a homeless guy that needs money. And drugs, just make your body all fu*ked.

Yeah eating is grand.

My favorite is a Sub and 10 (Chicken Finger Sub, Hot, oil Mayo, no onion and 10 breadsticks, from a place called "Carbones" in my neighborhood.
Without drugs, video games wouldnt be half of what they are today.
Quite right. You would have to be high on something to come up with a popular game that involves a plumber who gets superpowers when he eats mushrooms and goes around riding a dinosaur named Yoshi.

And what about a certain popular hedgehog that runs around everwhere at high speeds in a bad mood? Speed user I tell you, speed!

Oh yeah, I smoke, but not cigarettes. And I go smoke outside on the patio to both annoy my neighbors and keep my house still smelling nice and clean.

never have never will i did try it though when i was young did not like it. plus the smoke stinks any smoke cigars cigarattes etc

Smoke random cheap cigars all summer while barbequeing, and occasionally expensive ones. Sometimes I enjoy cloves as a throwback to college, when my roomate and I would have "pretentious night" where we'd dress up as stereotypical intellectuals, and walk around smoking cloves and annoying everyone. I definitely enjoy the liquor, but again, mostly when cooking or barbequing, which I do on a massive scale when I do it, and sometimes a bottle of rum or vodka is a helpful thing when hating my job spills over into the rest of my life.

I'm surprised to see the words straightedge on here. I'm edge and although the younger generations might have screwed up the meaning behind it I still continue to label myself and will forever. If you wouldn't call yourself straightedge anymore then why did you say you are? I know exactly why, because sooner or later you are going to start drinking, smoking cigarettes, doing drugs, etc... and then you can simply say you never called yourself straightedge (although you tried to in this post). It sounds like you are in the transition stage just like everyone else that ever claimed to be straightedge at one time. Out of the respect of people who are truely straightedge please don't say you are straightedge, if you are not. And to clarify the meaning of straightedge. You basically avoid being addicated to a mind altering substance to enjoy your life. Using medicine to heal your body is not a drug addiction. Why can't people get this straight? It's not hard to figure out. I hate when I hear people ask if eating meat is straightedge? There is no rulebook explaining the rules to being edge. It was a song that was written and it was just taken further than anticipated. If the song never took place I think the words would have been drugfree. Anyway, to each his own. If you want to spark some herb and be a stoner that's awesome. It just upsets me when people try to say things like they are straightedge but they are not. Have respect!

ps..I won't have a one night stand with a female, but this is on a moral level and has nothing to do with being straightedge (drugfree).

Obviously you arent not in the military and dont have to deal with some retarded fools in charge of you everyday.

I smoke like one to four cigarrettes a day, depending on how reatarded my boss' get. I dont smoke too much on the weekend unless Im drinking or something stresses me out, like california drviers

I just said that I used to call myself edge, because I never did any drugs, besides my prescribed meds. Then I started posting on a german straightedge site and they were like way too fanatical for me. They would talk about beating up smokers and people in bars and crap. And the dude actively admits to vandalizing fast food places. Then when I told them they were wrong, I was banned from the site. I still don't do any drugs, it just doesn't interest me, and I never will. I never saw the appeal. But I have my own non drug vices I have to take care of. One of which is my overeating, which is starting to take a toll on me. I am borderline diabetic, and I am constantly tired, and it is starting to affect my performance at my work, because I frequently fall asleep at work. I am fortunate that I have a boss who isn't a total ass, and is willing to work with me on it.

Another thing I don't understand is why do the hardcore SXE vandalize fast food restaurants? I know it is because they serve meat, but why not vandalize regular restaurants, grocery stores, or hot dog stand people? I think it is all hypocrisy to me.

What you are probably referring to are Vegan Straightedge people. They are involved in 2 different things. Being straighedge as well as a militant vegatarian. Be straighedge (or drugfree) for yourself. Don't worry about what others say. Everyone tries to say they are more straightedge than others but it just ends that they get bored of their fad and move on to the next cool thing. Overeating is something you will have to overcome on your own, but once again doesn't have anything to do with straightedge. That's cool that you are drugfree and I hope you stay that way. People that try to mix violence with straightedge is just stupid to me. They once again will not be straightedge for long. You cannot judge people just because they choose not to be straightedge. The most important thing in my opinion is that you are drugfree. Keep it that way!
