Who thinks this is the greatest deal in CAG history?

this is definately the best deal ive gotten in on, the selection I think is what makes it. i thought the 19.99 lapucelle was great. I havent had much luck at all with any of my local targets and their clearance.
I joined last fall. I recall just joining after some $4.99 sale at cc back then.
was that nowhere near as good as this years sale ?

The best ever for me predates the existence of the site. Early in the Dreamcast era Sears still had real game departments instead of a few cabinets. They liked to avoid lengthy tagging sessions by just slapping a pink tag on items and putting out a sign saying those items were 50% off the lowest marked price. This meant lots of $5 to $10 N64 and PS1 games as well as many $10 to $15 Dreamcast products with a smattering of other items like the nifty ASCIII RPG controller (designed to allowed one-handed operation for non-action oriented games so you be more relaxed while plating. There were often jokes about it being a porn controller but for the lack of the right software. It is also highly appreciated by people with injuries to one hand.) This was a massive spread of titles that were still at full or near full SRP in most stores.

For the same reason Sears needed such a big blowout the blowout itself almost failed. Nobodoy ever seemed to notice except me. Even after telling numerous people the word never seemed to spread, at least not within 150 miles of me. So for months on end Sears served as my eBay supply depot. Anything that didn't do well could be returned and I could always go back for more. I must have gone through at least 40 copies of Star Ocean II just to give one example of a good seller.

How this was ignored in malls just a short walk from EB and other game stores remains a mystery. It took months for all of that stuff to go and it often seemed like something from 'They Live' in that I had magic glasses that allowed me alone to notice the sale.

Today, all it would take is one post on this site and a horde of CAGs would descend on Sears stores nationwide within the hour.
