Who wants a Dreamcast specific forum?

It was a part of this generation, so I say it should be independant. I'd be willing to moderate, if that was the problem.
 
yes and no, id rather it be an all enxompassing sega forum, not just dc. just because american support has died doesnt mean the system must.
 
I guess I'm the only one who is tired of talking about how great the Dreamcast is or was ? I wouldn't mind a Sega forum that might be cool but a Dreamcast only forum seems redundant .
 
I don't think Dreamcast counts as "old school", and it's currently the only place for it. So a Dreamcast/Sega forum would be a good idea. The timing would be nice since CheapyD is thinking of making some changes.
 
As soon as we'd get a DC forum, then someone would want a NES forum. When they get the NES forum, somebody would want a Saturn forum. The cycle would never end. Whats wrong this forum right here?
 
I agree. Sega has been such a part of gamers lives for the longest time that they are much more than just a third party now. They gave us some of the best systems and games. There are way more Sega fans than there are for any other game company.

Plus, you guys are right. Technically, the Dreamcast is a next-gen system. It just came out a bit before the rest of the others, and it's still getting TONS of support from its fans.

Well, they are still making games for the n-gage, and yet it has no forum. Seems to me like the dreamcast's gonna have to take a number. :beer:

Agreed. Dreamcast is considered old school already since a game hasn't been made for it in years. And how much discussion would there actually be since no one seemed to buy the thing.
 
Do we really need it?

System specific boards lead to fanboyism, trolling, flaming, and lots of inane posts...look at GameFAQs, GameSpot, and IGN for proof.

There's nothing wrong with talking about it here, is there? If the DC topics ever reach a critical mass, then it might happen. Right now, though, it doesn't really seem like the site needs it.

Still...while we're requesting system boards, can we have one for the Atari Lynx? :D
 
Yeah, I can appreciate where the Dreamcast fans are coming from, but there simply is not going to be enough traffic in that forum to make it worthwhile.

Yeah I agree that it's not necessary. There haven't been any new developments or releases with the DC for a while (or at least that I've heard of). It would just amount to random reminiscing, or "DC is teh r0xx0Rz' threads.
 
I'm just saying Dreamcast board could be valuable because about half the posts on this board (est.) are relating to the Dreamcast. Plus, many people who missed out on it are now buying it and looking for deals on the various software.
 
I think a Sega forum would be better-But a DC specific forum would be cool, too. I am one of those people who just bought a DC and are looking for deals-a forum on it would be nice.
 
Like Cheapy said, there simply isnt enough people for a board of its own. A Sega forum wouldnt be that much better traffic wise.

You could start your own thread with the appropriate title. Popularity would keep it bumped at the top, But I don't think it would stay there more than a few days. Are there really that meny retail or .com outlets for dreamcast games that run deals regularly? I havent seen a DC game in a retail store for years, save Gamestop which has a dwindling few left on their shelves.
