Who will win the World Series?

I think the sox or the astro's....the yanks starting pitching is very weak, with a tired bullpen...they have solid offense...but we so what happens last year to the yanks when you go up against a team with better pitching

had to bust out these pictures

What are you looking at Derek ?

first picture proves this one

Yankees all the way^^ I could make a red sox comment like smellhasreturned but im not like that....besides us yankee fans tend to have more class then that(lol jk)

Twins are gonna take the Yanks down. Sorry, bandwagoners! Go Twinkies... Johan will carry us to glory.

I can see the Sox going as far as the ALCS, but that's about as far as they're going. Yankees will make it to the World Series but I don't see them winning it either.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that the Series will be won by a baseball team. More specifically, a team playing for either the American or National Leagues.

Furthermore, I predict that in the home town of the winning team there will be many grossly out of shape people whose sole relation to the players is by species, if that, who will run around shouting "WE WON!"

I love how people always assume fans of a winning team are bandwagoners lol. My dad grew up in new york and im a new york fan born and raised. My teams are the knicks, jets and yankees and will always remain to be the same. Heck i even pick the jets in madden 05! Im 2-9 vs those eagles and patriots that everyone started picking all of a sudden.

Tigers!

Hey...you didn't say that it had to be this season.

In any case, this reminds me of a story. A poster on GameFAQs said that the Red Sox will win because they've got Jesus on their side. If history is correct, then:

Babe Ruth > Jesus

Really...when was the last time you've heard someone complain about losing games because of the Curse of Jesus?

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the Cardnals or the Red Sox win it. I dont want to see the Braves or the Yankees win.

I wish i was old enough in 84 to actually remember the whole damn series, not just the last game...

5-0 Redsox... Whos idea was it to start Washburn in game 1? He just got taken out in the 4th.

Check that... 8-0 Redsox. Manny just drilled a 3 run home run.

Only reason Anaheim made the playoffs is because Oakland completely choked.

Let me guess, it's the Red Sox' year? Just like the past 86 years, right?

I'm a yanks fan, but i'm gunna have to say St Louis or Houston.

suprised with all the sox votes... but what makes this year any different ? they are cursed and its the same agony every october. At least chicago fans get thier let down early.

You just jumped on the wagon at a really young age. Or were dropped there by your folks.

My team is the Cardinals so of course I'll say them. No I'm not a frontrunner, I've liked them my whole life. My favorite all time player is Ozzie Smith and my favorite current player is Jim Edmonds. If anyone says I'm a frontrunner, I whip out my 1996 Division Champs hat. Who else has one that isn't a true Cardinals fan? Go Cards!

Yea as a New England Pats fan who lives out of the area I always get funny looks when I wear my Tom Brady jersey. So I have to explain to people that I'm originally from the area. I would have never guessed in the early 90s that i would have to defend myself from claims on being a bandwagon jumper. As far as the post is I hope the Sox finally get that ring but I think the cardinals are going to be hard to beat. Although I think our pitching gives us a slight advantage so I'm going with my sox.

I grew up in New York as a Yankees Fan, and I have lived outside of Houston for the last seven years, slowly leaning towards the astros. Although, I still love my Yankees, I'm a baseball fan first, and I think it would be such a sweet baseball story to see the Rocket close them out in Game 7 of the world Series....or even the rocket to finish his career against Boston with a world series victory.

Go 'Stros!!!....The Hottest team in baseball heading into the playoffs!!

I'm a huge Twins fan. It was nice to see them take down the evil empire tonight, even though I doubt they'll win the series.

As long as it's the Red Sox and the Twins are in the ALCS, and the winner of that wins the Series, I'll be happy. I love the Twins since they're my home team and all, but if they lose to the Sox I won't be disappointed. And I think that the Sox have the best chance of winning it all. Finally!

The only "curse' the Redsox had this year was Nomar.

Thank god we unloaded him on the Cubs... How did that work out for them again?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Dodgers will bring the Series to Chavez Ravine.

Its almost a sure thing that whatever team wins the NL pennant this year will take the series.

The Sox will win it this year, and if it wasn't for Pedro staying in too long in the ALCS last year, they could be the defending champs, but hey who knows. I do know they are going to be in the world series, and it is even more likely if the Twins take care of the Yanks, although the Sox are on the road the whole post season except for the series. Also, as long as the Yanks don't win, I'll be happy, but I still think Boston has the best shot.

I was going to say something to the same effect when I saw this topic! Ya never know, it might happen soon. We just need Urbina back. Can't believe he had to leave because his mom was kidnapped. That sucks for both him and the team.

Man how did i get "dropped on the bandwagon" not everyone is the same age you know. The braves were top game for a while before the yankees came back and i still was a yankee fan not a braves fan and if you read what i wrote im a new york team fan including being a die hard jets fan..if you call the being a bandwagoner...shame on you
