Who will win the World Series?

Wow, so many votes for the red sox! I mean, they're a good team and all, but they haven't won since... 19 something. Guess everyone's forgotten about the curse of the bambino?

We're gonna win, Twins,
We're gonna score.
We're gonna win, Twins,
Watch that baseball soar!

We're gonna win, Twins,
Shout out hip hooray,
Cheer for the Minnesota Twins today!

Damn Right!

Twins all the way, that would be great to witness a world series at the metrodome seeing as how i was only 2 when they had theyre last one here. but with Johan Cytana and Radke and great defense I think we might have a shot.

Hey...you didn't say that it had to be this season.
I was going to say something to the same effect when I saw this topic! Ya never know, it might happen soon. We just need Urbina back. Can't believe he had to leave because his mom was kidnapped. That sucks for both him and the team.
We need ALOT more than Urbina before that will happen.
At least they resembled a major league team this season, but the pitching and defense have a ways to go.
Back to the original subject, I will probably rooting for a Twins-Cards WS with St. Louie winning it all.

Go Red Sox!! \:D/

Although I hate the Yankees I actually hope they beat the Twins just so we can see another Red Sox Vs. Yankees showdown

Indeed. The metrodome sucks for baseball, but damn can that place get loud, and 45k homer hankies is a sight to see.

Eh, maybe a .500 season next year for the Tige's it'd be a good start.

If the question is who will win the world series, yankees obviously, but if you want to know who I want to win the world series, thats anoter story. Yankees always win, its just what they do. They make baseball boring.

Haha, the resident Red Sox caveman makes an appearance on the topic. Now if they make it to game 6 of the series and whoever is playing first in the late innings of the games and a ball goes by them, they truly are cursed. And if it Mienkevitz(?)(one of the better defensive 1B) then it would suck worse.

But yeah GO SOX!!

No one is guaranteed to win the series, just look at the yanks last year. they had better pitching last year and they still didn't win it all. I'd take Clemens, Pettite, and Wells any day of the week over Mussina, Leiber, and Brown. Sure they have the hitters, but without pitching, they won't win.

I can guarantee one thing about the winner of the world series, it won't be a repeat of last year.

Man how did i get "dropped on the bandwagon" not everyone is the same age you know. The braves were top game for a while before the yankees came back and i still was a yankee fan not a braves fan and if you read what i wrote im a new york team fan including being a die hard jets fan..if you call the being a bandwagoner...shame on you
Shame on me? For your lack of a sense of humour?

That didn't look like it was going out at first, looked like a routine pop up, but hey its good to see that they'll have a few days rest. yanks will probably win tonight, with santana beating them tomorrow and then game 5 in NY on monday.

Sox win the series
God job on trying to be witty...by reading one of the signs at Fenway.
the game tonight was amazing. When Guerrero hit the grand slam I thought it might end up shifting the momentum of the series.
One could only have hoped. Boston fans are riding way too high w/ the BoSox and Patriots playing so well.

Hope the Twins-Yankees series goes 5 games, would like to play the Yankees in the second round, would be a great series, and the metrodome is awful.

I about fell off my couch when vlad hit that grandslam, but putting th epieces back together and pulling this game out showed a lot of character

Yea but how ironic would it be for it to go seven games and then have Ortiz hit another walkoff? You may actually see the twins owner strangle the GM on live TV.

I'm worried the Yankees won't even get past the Twins. They have absolutely no pitching at all. Did I hear right that Vasquez will start tomorrow?

IMO they should throw out their worst pitcher vs Santana and then run out Moose for game 5 if there is one. Hernandez has a dead arm so the Yanks are running out of choices

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Twins can win Saturday with Santana at home, no matter who the Yankees start.

I dunno how they won with Brown though... All the Twins have to do is bunt it to the pitcher, make him field the ball with his broken hand.

Best case scenario is that the Twins win tomorrow, and the Yankees win Sunday. Their pitching staff will be so far gone, and ours will have had 3 days off.

I gotta do a lil braggin if i may

Tonight (Friday) I was at the twins game and my dad got these amazing seats from his work, it was like an extra section sticking out from the field just for the playoffs where they have the espn cameras and ur like 2 feet away from the batters warming up. So first I walk to my seat and Kent Hrbek, (great twin from like 81-94) sits down but wont sign anything, then i couldnt believe it, in front of me sits Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, and Tony Oliva ( great twins from 61-78) and I mean Killebrew and Carew are in the hall of fame and Olivas really close. So anyways I end up getting my hat signed by Killebrew and Oliva!

Yep I am hoping for a game five that goes extra innings.

the red sox are the hottest team in the AL now, and the astros are the hottest NL team. dunno if they both win the pennant or not, but they are my picks now

45 people said the Red Sox?? Wtf is wrong with you people? I have nothing against the Sox, but after years upon years of imploding.. how can you ever bet on them?

Btw, the Astros are currently at 6 to 1, probably your best money for those that are interested.

That's cool! Did they get mad when the Twins started getting smoked, or were they calm?

I'd love to see the Cards win the series. Edmonds is one of my favorite current players, and I'd love to see him win.

And if you wanna talk about people calling you a bandwagoner, you should've seen what I went through when the Pats won the first Super Bowl. Now, I had been a Pats fan since they drafted Drew Bledsoe, and even still own an old school, bright blue Bledsoe jersey. But of course, since I live near Philly, everyone calls me a bandwagoner, cause no one could possibly not like the Eagles and like the Pats instead. I think some people still think I'm a front runner. That's when I break out the old Bledsoe jersey and be like "What now?"

I believe this is the year of the sox. They got the right team this year. It's a matter of getting past those damn yanks!

They were pretty calm, Carew seemed into it and then he left after the 6th when it was like 7-1 but Killebrew and Oliva didnt seem to po'ed and Hrbek seemed alright. I'm pretty sure Oliva doesn't speak any english though lol.
