I am...

I've always been waiting for another movie to come out thats sort of like The Ring.. because the Ring scared the shit outta me.. but I still love the movie.

I think The Grudge is going to be a good jumper movie..

The Grudge preview looks AWESOME. Sarah Michelle Gellar is a really good actress and horror movies are generally sweet. The preview looks freaky (knuckles in her head). And that little kid.... hes weird. Me and my friends (my friends are HUGE buffy fans) will see it when it comes out

Me.

I love thrillers/creepy movies (but what do you know, I can't stand horror, if mostly for the mutilation/gore), and this one looks great. The Ring was okay... this one looks more promising though. So yeah, I will.

I'll probably end up seeing it to laugh at how bad an actor that horrible woman is, then I won't sleep for the next two weeks because those kids scare me.

It's pretty much the American version of Juon right? But I'm easily freaked out by scary movies so I'm not sure.. depends. But it would be cool to watch and me having some freak outs afterwards.

I'm looking forward to it especially since it's supposed to clear up some of the inconsistencies from the other Ju-on movies

I'll probably go see it. It looks interesting and since I was a huge Buffy fan, I'll go if only to support SMG.

Am I the only one that burs out laughing when the kid in the preview rose up and made a sound like a cat. I love that comercial cuz I think its hysterical. The kid looks like some kinda monkey.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the Grudge. I know I'm going to regret afterwards, but oh well. I just love the adrenaline rush of scaring the shit out of myself.

I will see the movie eventually, although I don't know about in theatres. IMO, The Ring wasn't a horror film more of a suspense/thriller.

The trailer looks great and Sam Raimi is involved with the movie so I figured It could be pretty good.
Did you guys notice that it was PG-13? It seems like it would be R from the previews alone, but who knows......
The Ring was also pretty fucked up looking, and it was rated PG-13.

ummm

The Grudge= virtually the same exact thing as it's Japanese version entitled Ju-on:The Grudge

it's directed and written by the same director, only difference is it being sold for American audiences

there's only one Ju-on film,so what's all this talk of "supposed to fix inconsistancies within the other ju-on films"?
im going with DeadZone!!!!!

hah just kidding, i dont even know if ill pay money to see it. maybe if some friends go to it.
I wouldn't mind going with you if you were near me, heh. :p

the japanese version scared the bejeezus outta me, hopefully this can do the same.

hopefully the american one will improve the movie, like what they did to ringu.

Saw looks damn fucking good too!

Actually, there are 4 Ju-On films: Ju-on: The Curse, Ju-on: The Curse 2, Ju-on: The Grudge, and Ju-on: The Grudge 2.

The Curse 1 and 2 were made-for-tv movies in Japan, while The Grudge 1 and 2 came out later as theatrical releases.

I thought the Japanese version of the Ring was better than the American. I watched the American version first but after watching the Japanese version the story just seemed to make more sense.

While on the topic of horror movies, anybody plan on seeing the Seed of Chucky?

Ummmm, sounds like someone hasn't seen the episodic video versions of Juon. There are 4 total not including the Sarah Michelle Gellar version: Juon: The Curse, Juon: The Curse 2 (made for TV versions on which the 1st Juon: The Grudge movie was based), Juon: The Grudge, and Juon: The Grudge 2. The US version is basically a remake of Juon: The Grudge 2. The video versions were nothing to write home about but, like Empire Strikes Back, Juon: The Grudge 2 is the best in the series

here's an interview w/ the director that made Juon, Takashi Shimizu:

And here's some other interesting tidbits you can check out:

so yes, there ARE more than one Japanese Juon film that were made
