why are the GH3 bundles for 360 and wii so scarce?

I ask because I went to TRU today knowing that shipment came in and all that came was PS2 and PS3 and a few Wii versions. I was wondering if there was a production problem with the 360

It's very telling of the so-called 'console wars'.

Plus, it's Christmas. Everytime I go into store, I see at least one parent buying a Guitar Hero.

Anyway... I also remember reading a little while ago that the demand for the Wii version surprised even them, so they're going to gear up production a bit. Or something. I think.

Isn't there usually a shortage of GH games when they're first out, I thought the same was true of GH2. Thats kind of why I bothered pre-ordering it.

lol

"These things will go for a fortune on eBay! Time to empty out my college savings!"

I'm going to go with the "OMG X-mas is coming" idea. It's one of the more popular games out. I remember working retail when GH2 (PS2) came out. When X-mas started to roll around the corner, those things just sold out left and right.

Also as A Happy Panda mentioned, the Wii and Xbox 360 have pretty big install bases. Not to say the PS2 doesn't but I'm guessing in terms of next gen a lot of people have upgraded to Wii or 360 by now.

Oh I don't know, I guess it being the Holiday/Christmas buy everything you can in sight season doesn't have anything to do with it.
I see plenty of PS2 and PS3 versions everywhere I go
You're probably seeing lots of PS2 bundles because fans of the series already have the guitar and buy the game a la carte. PS3 bundles are strewn everywhere for the same reason PS3s are.

QFT. When I worked at EB last year, people were almost killing each other for the last copy of GHII (on a hilarious side note; it wasn't actually the last copy, the manager had tucked away a copy for himself earlier in the day).

I received three 360 bundles and three Wii bundles, along with four Wii consoles. All GH bundles and the Wii systems sold out within 10 minutes.

Demand >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Supply

Because the 360 version is better due to not needing the dongle and you add in the fact that the 360 has more people, and add in the fact that you can use play Guitar Hero 2, and I think those are all selling points and why Multiconsole onwers will buy it too.

However, the fact that I can use real cash on the PS3 to buy songs instead of MS points is also enticing, but not enough to overcome the other factors. Mainly to play Guitar Hero II, and no dongles.

I don't get it. You can buy songs with MS points, which occasionally go on sale and can be bought for less than regular price, or you can buy with regular money. Which never goes on sale. How is the latter better?

People might be doing what I nearly did for 360, buy 2 bundles and sell a sealed copy of the game cheap. Both parties would leave with below retail game/guitar.

I don't want to spend 20$ to buy 6$ songs. Plus, after buying 3 packs, I would then have 2$ doing nothing. However, I never have that problem with the Sony store as I can just put in the exact amount I want and go. And plus, the only store that does the MS points is Circuit City, and I don't shop there. :D

My girlfriend is getting a 360 for xmas and can not find Guitar Hero 3. Which kinda sucks cause she is really only getting a 360 for GH3 and Scene and for us to play Rock Band.

And Open Season

There's a store that sells MS points that you can connect to your TV. It also plays games.

Yes, I know, but as my friend says "I don't trust MSFT with my Credit Card information"
