Why does my DS Lite turn off by itself in middle of play?

I don't know why but it just started doing that. There are several games that it turns off on:

Contra 4
Ultimate Mortal Kombat
Pokemon Diamond
Yoshi's Island

At first I thought it was problem with the flashcart, but I borrowed me friend's and it's still doing that. I looked around on the web a bit, and I've found other people with similar problems.

It seems it has something to do with the circuit around the button being cracked so when you press it to hard it turns off (which is in line with the kind of game that my DS shut off during play)

So is the only way to fix this by sending the DS in? My DS has been longer than a year, so it's no longer under warranty.
 
I had a problem very similar to this when the Lite first came out, where it would shut off randomly (and I was playing Tales of Phantasia too which what was a pain to suddenly get a black screen in) and whenever I turned it back on all the settings had been erased (meaning I had to reenter the time, name,etc.)

However, after a while, this problem just stopped so maybe just take a few days away from your DS, play some other system or something, and go back in about 5 days and see if it continues because it might just be being overused. (I was playing my ALL the time when this was happening to me.)
